Overhaulin my sons 1992 VW Golf

- When my son was deployed with NMCB-1 "Seabees" from May 2011 to February 2012 he left his car with me. I did a little more work on it than he was expecting. Rebuild the complete car for him when he returned. Its was a fun project to do for him. Thanks to all that helped and the online help from Pelican Parts, VW Vortex and MIVE!

The last of the Real GTI. When they were not bloated and full of crap you do not need. Light, fun, easy to fix, with character and style.

Dad of the Century! I owned three MK2 GTIs, a Tornado Red 1986 8V, a 1989 Alpine White 16V, and a 1992 Montana Green 2.0 16V. Brings back great memories. Fantastic little cars. I hope your son keeps this a long time.
+hpathree I have a Tornado Red 1992 16v. Once had a new Montanna Green one, I often wonder where it went. It was a repo when I was a 21 yr old. Family had a financial collapse. I loved that color, but also love my red one. Did all the neuspeed stuff I want to do, too.

Wow car came out mint it looks brand new. He looks happy as hell mission accomplished. That was a very cool thing a dad could do for his son & he definitely deserves the car & and you. I'm 39 & till this day my dads my best friend & cant get enough of hanging out with him & working on cars. Exellent video & thanks for reminding everyone about the most important things in life.

My family is like that, we love each other, but we don't show it the way others may with hugs etc. Though, he did hug his Dad after a while. You can tell he totally appreciated it,

So beautiful, my father and I also restored my tornado red MK4 Jetta that I got as my first car to oem+ and it truly is a rewarding experience. I love that car now and is priceless to me.

I had a 86, 87 GTI and a 93 Golf GL hooked up. I love these cars.
I've had two '84 Gti's (a silver with blue interior and a black with red interior) and a '92 Gti (same as the one in this video). I too love these cars. My son will be learning to drive in about a year and a half, he'll get my hand me down Honda Element and I'll be shopping for either a new Gti or a Golf R.
