- The body and shocks/suspension were in rough shape when I got the car, the engine and transmission were fine...this project was time consuming, but fun! All the work was done by me...except for the suspension work...and this is the first time I did anything like this. Thanks to all the "how to" videos on RUclips, couldn't have done it without!
I have a 95 golf and envisioned doing the exact same stuff to mine, removed molding and everything! that is so crazy! This car is exactly how I envisioned mine! I want to put shaved handles on it though.
I can't believe all the negative comments you got. I think my thumbs down finally got rid of jiminbmth's (Jim in Bournmouth?) comment. You did a pretty good job and thanks for sharing. Anyone extending the life of a VW deserves kudos in my book.
that's great good job most people would not have the balls to start something like this
That one is awsome, dude u did a great job, congrats!
Looks good! I can't believe the radical change in the overall look of the car.
Awsome job it's a mirror image of mine although my rim are black 5 spoke with chrome lip...2.L short ram intake exhaust F1 Stage 3 clutch....sooo much more and sooo much more to be done. I love that lil car....
Very nice car, I want to VW Golf 3 on my eighteenth birthday
i got one too... fun to work on .. good luck
I smoothed out my rub strips on mine too, hell of a job to get right! You clearly had more patience than I did, well done bud (:
Nice work man!!
looks awesome
omg a mk3 golf hatchback my dream first car cant find a second hand one in the uk no one wants to sell :( nice job and i think the car aint as bad as people saying here youv done a great job and if you find it fun do more id like to see more videos please :)
I think is pretty cool the color for a beginer.. Good job...
@dankbobby technically they are not hard to replace at all, but I did not do it myself because the springs need compressed and I do not have the tools. I would take it to a mechanic to do it because it's not very expensive ($80-100 for rear only)...or you could take them off yourself and then just take them to a mechanic to put the springs back on ($30-40)
I have watched a lot of DIY paint vids and some of them were an epic fail. Your car looks great except for the low sheen on the finished job. Great Effort!
nice film thx for sharing
sick, i want this car for my own also to customiz, i cant wait
good job!
I want to do the same thing to the trim on my golf.
very nice video, i have the same car, i was wondering how much you spent on the basics, like the color change and trim removal. if you remember, since this is 4 years old.
