Chicago is the worst and way different than anywhere else and the concentration of violence on the south side/east side and west side is sky high. It has the most gang members of any city in North America with an estimated 150-250k. Chicago had almost as many murders last year as New York City and Los Angeles combined despite having 4 and a half times less people than LA and NYC combined. The overall per capita crime and murder rate isn’t as high as some smaller cities because it has so many rich people and nice areas downtown and on the north side because it’s so big. But vast swaths of the city(
@@bkelly625 I’ve been in some bad places on the east coast. Baltimore MD is probably the worst I’ve witnessed.
Not as bad as Chicago, but close on murder rate per capita. …
Here is the kicker, Baltimore as well as Chicago, Philadelphia, and D.C. quit reporting numbers to the FBI during COVID-19
I guess they believe no news is good news.
I've done outdoor construction jobs in California, Florida and Texas. 100 degrees in California is a little warm, 90 in Florida feels like your about to have a heat stroke.
Humidity.
Freddy ain't a bad guest. He engages in conversations without stepping on toes. He's a very middle of the road guest.
Compared to some of the crap tier guests he is head and shoulders above.
i love freddy i didn’t expect him on this episode but i’m glad we have him
@@isahvi262 I like his content too. He seems like a really chill dude.
I work as security in east St Louis area and Taylor is not exaggerating. St Louis has so much unrepresented crime most police only patrol during the day the amount of homeless people who disappear who you know probably got killed off or a of if they were on drugs
almost went through there because our driver got lost, there was a impromptu police check point who pulled us over and let us know the right directions and not to continue where we were heading.
I've worked security in downtown St. Louis for a while. The two days prior to my first day, somebody was shot in the face with a shotgun and then tossed in the fountain out front. They stressed that we not walk outside the property in uniform unless we had body armor and a defensive weapon of some sort. This was right across the street from the Federal Reserve but its not as bad as East St.Louis, I give you props for that.
@@YuriVelcroripper sounds about right I think I remember hearing about that. At the gas station right? If not there's a shooting almost every night it seems, you can tell from the faint gun shots you can hear pop off at nights
Edit and yes same rules do not go outside lock the doors and patrol the area we talk to homeless people through doors to tell them to scram and have to call police for basically every incident. I don't work at a hospital (thank God) but we are around large sums if money so armed security is required plus we work directly with local PD
@@jace2802 mansion house garage, the fountain across from the fed reserve. Towards the arch
@@jace2802 murders happen almost every day in downtown St. Louis. You don't hear about them bc most happen near tourist areas just outside place like the Arch, Busch Stadium, or Ballpark village.
Went to pick up a motorcycle in St. Louis, from northwest Arkansas. Stopped in downtown St. Louis, at a five guys to eat. While we’re eating, a ford fusion with 4 dudes pulls up, with over 15 bullet holes through the front windshield. They hop out and eat, cause some problems with the employees, and we’re loud as hell the whole time. Would’ve taken a picture of the car if I didn’t think I’d end up like the windshield
I can sense their color through the screen. “ooh-ooh-ah-ah!”
That’s just how it be bro u get shot at and get hungry what else u gon do 🤣🤣
My brothers a roofer, and I had the same question about the clothes. The top layer that covers everything is a super thin layer to just keep the sun off of you. The sun is the real killer up there, it’s easier to deal with a some warm clothes than the sun burning you all day
And once you get a sweat started the thin layer of cloth will help cool you off
6:30 I used to work outside in Texas heat and we would wear special clothing that reflects light as much as possible it actually keeps you cooler than sunlight directly hitting your skin
Yeah that and the sun will just tear up your skin up if you have constant contact with it.
Guessing u worked with a big ass company? We Mexicans do it RAW 210 🙌🏽
@@thedmd7743 not in Florida yall dont
@@thedmd7743 worked oil & gas in WV. The Mexicans wore long sleeves, wide brim hats, and often a face covering.
They were Hard workers who called Texas home. I enjoyed working with them.
This is crazy. I’m from TX and I just did a 2 week work trip in St. Louis. I was inspecting existing electrical tower foundations throughout the city. I found myself in East Downtown StL just north of the Arch and it was like a bomb went off. Every single building was abandoned including the neighborhood near there. We were there all day and didn’t see a single soul. Very eerie to see the old beautiful buildings (to me) and houses abandoned with graffiti.
Lol I used to live in st Louis I know the area your talking about lol
North STL has been horrible for a while now. But west county is actually pretty nice. Hell every city has its bad parts
We was out there u just not gonna see nb that dont want you to see em💯🤷🏾♂️💯
Camden got a mention, let’s go
Living in colder cliimates makes stronger people.
We inheritly know that spring will come and winter will pass, no matter the pain we go through.
No I don't believe that.
Lol as if living in 100 degrees every day for 3 months straight (Texas) doesn’t do the same thing
@@dynamichunter843 Cold climates tend to make *smarter* populations, not necessarily stronger. Because the cold weather and scarcity of food puts evolutionary pressure on those populations & makes them select for things like planning ahead, delaying gratification etc. - all things that also correlate with high IQ. It's an interesting read if you want to look it up.
That explains Caucasians
Lived in Georgia all my life, and the one thing I hate the most about this state is the humidity.
What about the other thing?
@@NogGonnaMakeItthat too
Kyle, Native of Wisconsin here and trust me you dont want year round snow just getting bad snow for a few months makes alot of shit fucked
I'm a Maine resident, it's pretty much the same here. The cold and snow messes everything up.
Kyles from the south he doesnt know what snow is or real cold. I used to work in Iron county on the boarder with MI. Theres towns that are basically all snowmobile traffic for a solid 3 months out of the year. Being WI most of that traffic is to bars
As an Alaskan no way yall wisconsine and main people have real cold winters lol
@@deandredunbar9618 maybe not, but we do have schools that teach us how to spell the names of states. Really, you have no excuse since the phone does it for you.
@@deandredunbar9618 god damn dude you spelled 2 states wrong lmfao your fingers must really be cold
Taylor should do a meet up in stl there’s a decent amount of ppl that live here and watch the show
As a northern Canadian, you don’t want snow. We have a shit ton, and it’s -30 to -50 quite often. And there’s no slush, only in the fall and spring. Everywhere you walk is slippery because nearly everything is covered in ice. The only thing that helps with the ice is sand.
Lol I love winter
Naming a city as the best place in jersey is like finding a turd that doesn't smell as much as the others and claiming it's the best piece of shit in the pile
Roofers wear layers so they don't get exposed to the sun's rays, the more you know
All the roofers I know just sniff Percocets instead 🤷
Can confirm Florida is a trippy place. Got harassed by a crackhead today at the bakery today😬 dude was TRIPPIN.
Little Rock AR mid year was rated the most dangerous city (most likely to be a victim of a violent crime). In August there were 11 shootings in a day, 17 that weekend
Humidity is no joke. I live in CO and while I don’t enjoy heat that much, the dryness makes it bearable. I even remember being in 116 degrees F at horseshoe bend in Arizona thought it was actually kind of pleasant, but 80 degrees at 100% humidity down in Puerto Rico made me super lethargic.
I'm from the UK and I want the utter wilderness, snow and solitude of somewhere like Wyoming or Montana. People are the worst everywhere
Weird how all of those cities have certain things in common.

The sun sets at 4pm in ND in the winter and 11:30ish at night in summer. And it gets cold enough to hurt when you breath, like -30 air temp, -60 wind chill, and all the way up to +105 with or without humidity depending. Crazy ass weather and I love it lol
I work in East St Louis all the time. Construction. It is wild.
Hey Woody, I used to live in Collingswood and Audubon...Gloucester City also. Camden was right in the center of all that. Lovely place...lol
As far as snowy places having short days, Colorado and Utah have about the same latitude as Virginia. It also snows a fair bit in the mountains of Arizona and New Mexico.
I live in Southern New Mexico, near El Paso tx. And we have snow in the mountains atm. Its cold as hell currently and i hate it with a passion. Lol i miss the hot ass sun.
Louisville is pretty rough. I train there and work there. I’ve had to sit in traffic because there was a drive by shooting in front of me a few times. I also had to let the coach know that there was a crackhead in the parking lot that was getting scary close to cars
What's the common theme in all of them...?
Astronaut training programs.
Long sleeves and long pants in the summer to avoid sunburn especially when you’re working under the sun all day long
I drove through St. Louis once. Nice city but the part within the city limits was very run down. Western part was nice though
West St. Louis County is extremely beautiful
West county has one of the best and wealthiest neighborhoods in the US (Town and County). But north STL and east STL across the river on the illinois side is rough
Man growing up in rhode island dealing with the Mediterranean kind of climate. You get the hot summer with some humidity. It gets up to 98-103 degree weather. When I first went to Arizona it was at least 102 degrees and it didn't feel bad at all.
I remember when Cleveland was like this on the 00's, completely the opposite now when I was last downtown. Places can change.
Georgia has “cold winters” hahahahHaha
You can retire with 1 Million in Missouri. Throw it all in a dividend paying stock like Altria that gives you 8.3% and boom, 83k a year.
Anyone wishing to live in snow has never had to deal with it for months on end year after year. The grass is always greener.
Long light clothes are best for roofing because it keeps the sun off you. If you have a good wicking material it also deals with the sweat well. Also if you slip while wearing shorts on a shingle roof it'll shred your skin off like cheese grater.
The best place to live in Missouri in my opinion is 45 minutes west of St. Louis county. You’re 30 minutes from the country and 1 hour from a warzone.
Most desert folk i talk to say they wesr long sleeves because it prevents sunburn but also it soaks up your sweat and actually keeps you cool.
Growing up in Florida and moved to Montana. The humidity has such a drastic effect on the livability of any state. It is so much more comfortable in dry states.
Montana is NOT comfortable 😅
@@amosesh5898 ugh? What
From ABQ. St Louis is way scary and way more sketchy.

East St Louis sounds a lot like East Cleveland.

What do all these cities have in common
Fyi Florida summer is BRUTAL 90+ everyday.
Hot summers suck. But Florida's climate is great most of the year. I'm from Australia & lived in a city that has an almost identical climate to Miami. I now live in Washington State & I miss the nice sunny weather and mild winters. Summer was bad, way too hot and humid & rained way too much. But for the rest of the year it was basically paradise. Sunny and warm but not too warm. Once you move somewhere that's cloudy and grey all the time you really miss the sun & realise how much you took it for granted.

Having grown up near Memphis, I'd say it's only slightly better than St Louis. But if it's not BBQ or Beale St, it's best to just skip Memphis.
Beale Street is no longer safe to walk now. The jigs have further pushed the city into further disrepair. They had a tornado come through a few years ago and did a few million dollars worth of improvement

It bothers me how woody brags about his “rough upbringing”
Here in traverse city. We have a bunch of human trafficking. Idk how but it is known
We were doing a photo shoot for some cars in an alleyway in St.Louis. A cop pulls up and asks “Do you guys have a gun”. Me and my buddy say “no we do not have a gun”. He replies with “well you should” then he rolled up his window and drove off. Lol
The guys wouldn’t survive one real Canadian winter
Winter is great if you aren’t in New Jersey
Jersey is shit
Memphis is not a Midwest city 😂
What do East St. Louis, Memphis and Detroit have in common? Perhaps a large amount of a certain demographic?
I’m with Taylor and Freddy. Fuck the snow and winter is evil. Even if you don’t work and get to enjoy the day what can you honestly do outside when it gets cold and sunset is 4 fucking 30? I thought everyone collectively decided to ditch daylight savings last year because it’s a useless goddamn waste? I live in West Virginia and I’m not kidding when I say that it literally turns into fallout 3 during the winter. All the trees are bare, it’s always a drab grey or brown color the environment itself becomes hostile and for some reason the junkies and fiends always multiply this time of year. There’s more reasons than I can mention as to why this is a doo-doo place to live but the winters always make me bitter and angry when I’m not normally like that.
Oh and woody wants to talk about being born in a slum? I’m from Huntington West Virginia. We have the record highest amount of heroin overdoses in the shortest amount of time in the whole country.
