Hello, I have an antique what I think is a medicine bottle from Australia. The symbol has been quite hard to identify. It is apothecary style bottle with a glass stoppper. Symbol on the bottom looks like an upward arrow next to a downward arrow, they are next to each other almost touching. Both arrow tails extend outward slightly. It has a seam along the edge and a ghost line. Also has 2/60 and a sideways number 1 on the base

Hi Chantal, I would need to see a pic. If you are on facebook, you can join "The Ultimate Recycler" group, or else email me a pic and I'll see if I can help. My email is on the 'about' tab 😊

Fantastic . I have searched the internet for information regarding Australian bottles and it all becomes a blur , the photo's all start to look the same , plus I end up with heaps of paper with info on this part and that part blah blah . I have learnt more in the last few minutes than in the past two months . THANKYOU.

So I'm scavenging through a old farm dump looking for cool bottles I can use to store my homemade spirits ....it's a stupid question I have found a few old brown poison bottles on farms before ,I'm just wondering if you could re use those old bottles these days , especially if they have been empty and filling up with water and dirt for decades ,I just got one with anomia and poison on it ....I'm not going to but I just wondered if their worth much or can be used to store alcohol these days

Pretty much any old amber poison bottles are worth very little to bottle collectors - they do look cool but not really that sought after. Not sure about re-using them for something you may drink? You'd want to make sure they are well cleaned!
