3 seconds? More like 3 eternities. In the lore it got bored because it had the “same thing” for ages. Until humanity discovered it and started building machines inside. Who the “hell” would stand eating the same food everyday, playing the same video game everyday, sleeping at the exact time everyday, seeing the same people everyday, and going outside the same time everyday? Nobody. The only difference is that he’ll is cruel as, well, hell and extremely powerful plus intelligent beyond comprehension.
It is now my headcanon that UltraKill is named Ultrakill simply because the company that made the machines is named UltraTech. And they made an Ultra-Woopsie-daisy
Seeing this video, I have come uo with a new theory, bare with me: V1 was repurposed to destroy hell. One of the engineer that survived the inicial onslaugh due to pure luck, realises to every clue of the massacre that it was hell own tapering with the machines he along with his now dead colleges had build, and plans for revenge againt's hell, managing to just barely survive the metalic hore he makes his was to the empty headquarters of the comoany he once worked at, by sheer stealth, grit and luck he manages to find the v1 prototype and reprogramms the last machine with one directive: To cleans hell of life. As the metalic angel beggings to boot on for the first time in years he hears the heavy steeps of street cleaners aproach, he knows his end is soon to come, so just before they find him, he writes 9 words, 9 words that would be the avenging cause of humanity: Mankind is dead. Blood is Fuel. Hell is Full. Edit: Let it be tom that did the reprogaming idk
I'd also like to believe that V1 (and maybe even V2) were repurposed to eradicate Hell as well. Earlier in the video Gohrdahn mentions how The New Peace started upon mankind finding out about Hell. I imagine that sometime before the complete eradication of all life on Earth, V1 wasn't given a new purpose per say, but INFORMATION. And that info was that Hell was full and had plenty of blood to spare. So, V1, wanting to sustain itself for as long as possible, heads to Hell and thus begins Ultrakill. (It's also why V1's "health" is at 10 when you start the game and not 100.)
I forgot to say this, but with mankind knowing about the suffering that was waiting for them after death, some people (or person) would have thought of this as a way to end it all so that their suffering would eventually find an end.
Well Act 3 layer 7 just threw your starting theory out the window. War stopped because it became entirely dependent on a specific machine type, the earthmover, which stopped working after the Long night came and then when humanity was forced to go back to older stages of the Final War it realized it couldn't sustain the model anymore. The EarthMover, which could level cities by itself and anything thrown at it, became the front of the war and people were living on them because the fauna was completely screwed and couldn't grow back anymore during the war due to the conditions. They mentioned the fact that after the world was bathed in fire the long night came and the sun could not be seen anymore, so the movers could not function anymore...This would mean something similar to a nuclear exchange happened...Also pretty interesting to find out the Final war was 2 centuries long and ended due to both sides being too affected in their production and capability to fight without a specific machine...A war that started with static trench lines like WW1 and got thrown for a loop when the Gutterman appeared and served the purpose of a trench raider.
So basically the New peace wasn't "Humans finding hell, getting afraid or emotional and learning the futility of war", it was "Humans fucked up so much that there wasn't anymore ways they could keep killing each other". There wasn't a great age of peace, it was a dark age post war, where people were forced to live on top of earthmovers because it was the only thing that could keep humanity alive, until it couldn't anymore. Still, I don't think the earthmovers stopped working just because of the sun. It worked by blood as well. Maybe it became stationary and something finished off the cities on it's back. Seeing the earthmovers in game show how much advanced it was, Solar power looked more like a complementary energy system for it's war capabilities. We don't know what systems Blood had part on powering it. Also, V1 appears to be specifically created to destroy earthmovers. A small machine (even in game), agile, with high power and the ability to consume blood while in combat (what the earthmover has A LOT as we saw after activating the yellow sphere), it could sneak in and destroy anything in it's path. The thing is, V1 was so good at killing, that it actually would become the apex predator for EVERY machine, since it's AI could learn and perfectly use any weapon it obtained. Fuck, i love this update. There's so much lore implications in it. Looks like V1 is the only thing that Hell doesn't have full control of yet. Everything is against V1, even in 7-3 where it's machines vs Demons, V1 just wipes out every single one of them with no mercy. I think V1 will kill everything. It's using Hell's boredom and sense of control until it gets where it wants, destroying everything in it's path until it destroy hell itself. A perfect machine made for total war, fulfilling the purpose it should had in the Final War.
@@tiagocunha4821 it says in the terminal entry that the earthmovers powered down due to lack of sunlight there was eventually a great age of peace after people managed to undo the death and destruction caused by the earthmovers, as told by the terminal as well one more thing, v1 is canonically supposed to be "unimportant" to the rest of the story according to hakita (and how the game is designed and what it reveals to the player)
@@goindown about the new peace, i don't remember seeing anything saying that humanity fixed the destruction caused by the war, even through they tried. I guess i need to read it all again About v1, i think it does have a pretty hard impact in the story, since it was his fault that Gabriel killed the Holy Council, after their both fights. Maybe v1 is unimportant because it doesn't give too much of a fuck about what's happening
@@tiagocunha4821 or v1 is not important because no one gives shit about lifles machines, hell mass demons and unthinking husks gabrile is the one who killed heaven concule not v1
Game isn't finished yet, last and final act is still in the works many weapon variants are LOCKED and many new levels are UNDER CONSTRUCTION new enemies (angelic kind and new type of robots)
10/10 - Captivating history - Clear distinction of cannon and theory - Great storytelling - Accurate depictions of lore - Generally entertaining - 30 minutes of content - Even the theories make sense and are greatly interesting I wouldn't be surprised if Hakita made this video or something similar the actual story of the fall of mankind, since it actually does make sense and is some of the most fun videos of ULTRAKILL lore out there. The editing was on point, the recordings/videos were fantastic, great background footage and, overall, just a really good video. Keep up the good work, man!
3:54 i like to think that V1 is just a perfectly normal robot in the first act,and becomes stronger and smarter as he feeds in the blood of stronger demonds (and angels) something like how gut´s dragon slayer was just a normal sword that got cursed after bathing in the blood of many demons and apostols and now it can kill even ghosts, every time v1 suffer damages and reconstruct himself using demon/angel blood,he starts to become something else, that is my theory as to why sometimes he seems to show emotions, this also aplying to many other blood fueled machines, but mostly to v1 since he has that self reconstruction capability
It kinda makes sense how swordsmachine and other kind of bosses return even after you defeat them, hell just puts them back together altough the original has died. Hell has seen enough, enough to put everything back together.
Considering the final arm we're getting for V1 is yellow, I have a feeling that V2 is not done just yet. Maybe it'll be fused with a swords machine in a crude fashion as it was rebuilt by hell?
Yes and no, most bosses come back because they aren't really unique. Maurices are everywhere, cerberus are seen in the begging of the game, Swordsmachine has copycats, husks are humans souls/sinners which means they are billions.
If I wake up one day to see either V1 or V2 anywhere that isnt at a cosplay convention I am personally going to hack the US Government to send out an EAS about that shit
i like watching these videos with the ultrakill lore, this game is already a masterpiece and there's also an incredible story? the amazingness just never ends does it?
crazy idea: the marksman revolver, like some of the other weapons, was actually made for human use during the brief time humans willingly entered and explored hell after the discovery of ferrymen. Carrying coins around to move between layers took too much space and the machines usually had enough firepower to handle threats on their own, so a specialized version of the sidearm explorers would use was developed that would enable the generation of viable coins for ferrymen to use automatically. A revolver that can fire coins wouldn't really make much sense otherwise since the revolvers were made for human use. It's not like humans were flicking coins in the air and ricocheting bullets off of them, the only things reliably capable of that were most likely the V models.
I always thought that the marksman and the sharpshooter were modified by the terminals themselves. Due to their “stylish” nature it seems like the piercer was the only revolver to actually be used by humans. Essentially the terminals are fabricating and designing new weapons to provide more entertaining footage.
I love how this lore was presented, although my only gripe was that I wish the sentry turret was used for the home invasion, The dread of a sentry turret having a perfect line on you while you are clueless as to what is about to happen to you sounds scary as fuck! Also the fact that v2 may be a little bright for that...
Well, the enemies sadly don't get shaded with the world anyway... so the sentry would've been just as bright. Thank you though, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I love how ultrakill's landscape isnt just the burning hell that the christians had imagined, but is instead an immersive implication and visualisation of dante's inferno, with the 9 layers of hell, an angel by the name of gabriel trying to stop the protagonist from going further down the spiral of hell.
To be honest, the silliness of the game means that the lore can be thrown out of the window and can be explained by: funny robot need fuel. Robot get fuel. Robot has fuel. Robot want more.
Just realized the story of ultrakill would make a terrifying analog horror seires a story about how machines that have been taken over by hell itself are killing everyone humans not being able to even step outside without being burned to a crisp or having their face blown off by a sentry or the v modles and think about all of the people who had personal mindflayers or what (im guessing swords machine was) a contruction bot crushing your buddy with a concret slab right beside you or hearing a machine looking for you especialy streat cleaners the terrifying noises they make when speaking
(Spoilers for P-1 and P-2) One thing that I've been wondering for a bit is... is V1 also controlled by hell? If so, what pushes them to keep moving forwards? They are shown to show mercy against foes (Gabriel, Ferryman) while being merciless against its fellow machines (V2 and all the others that attempt to murder the machine) and its unusually strong, as it has been able to destroy two prime souls and have the willpower to find them in the first place. There's something going on with V1... and im not sure what it could be.
Yeah, I don't really know either. If I had to guess, V1 is _the most_ entertaining machine to Hell, so it uses it against everything else just to see how strong V1 is, and that's why you hear the laughing sound when you die, because Hell knows you can do better.
@@gohrcat Or you know, Prime the Last - Yourself V1 Might hold the first example of a Prime humanity knows of, or perhaps it is Humanity Prime, bent on a mission to wipe out the thing that wiped them out
Or maybe, like how at doom series, the doom slayer was initially aided by the father, maybe god , in fear of hell's capability, want to aid V1 to kill hell while he watch from faraway
Basically it was like this: Scientist: "Stop starting wars! You are killing people and you will go to Hell!" Politician: "Yea yea whatever. Nothing is going to change my mind. I'm not gonna be scared of your words." Scientist: "No, sir, you will _literally_ go to Hell. We have irrefutable proof that bad people go to Hell, as in an actual PLACE opposite of Heaven. Look: *shows live feed of V1 in Hell.* " Politicians: "😳" Scientist: "Yea, I know. You are literally going to get assfucked for eternity if you don't--" Politician: *runs to General to declare cease fire*
A highly detailed lore video on my current favorite game, with Ghor's own theories as well. Got to be one of the best videos I've watched in the past year or so, the production and editing are phenomenal. After this video dropped, not only am I excited for the release of ACT III for the gameplay, but also the lore to follow, and as someone who usually isn't very interested in lore in videogames, that's a sign of a quality video. Thanks Ghor for this amazing video!
Hell: oh a new thing perfect V1: im i a joke to you? “Kills everything and will try to kill hell” Hell:😫 PLS NO V1 DONT DO THIS😭 V1: I NEED BLOOD Hell: AHHHHH😭😭😭
That ending skit was awesome, really love how it portrayed the takeover. Even if the pinned comment confirms this as only loosely canon, I think the fact you got so close in the first place and created such a cohesive and terrifying story about Hell through pulling all these pieces together, and _hell_ even writing a lot of your own part that fit the tone perfectly, is an awesome achievement. Great job on this video!
I hope you make a new video similar to this with the new stuff that was introduced with the Layer 7 Update. The lore of the Guttermen and other new enemies is very very interesting and gives us more insight as to what actually happened to the humans, which I think is neat.
Ever since P-2 came out and the community found the hidden pieces of lore that the backstory of Ultrakill was shaping up to be pretty bloody but never once thought hell might had become so intelligent to make those events happen. Now I really just hope that when Ultrakill is finally complete and P-3 comes out that we can finally piece together everything. This was a fantastic video and am now even more excited for what the future of this game might hold.
I can't wait for Act III either, or P-3. When the game's finished I'll be making another video about Hell and what happened with it and Heaven when God left.
Holt shit this was simply incredible! The speculative bits fit so so perfectly. The colored caption were basically the only thing keeping them apart from canon. I don't know if you plan a follow-up about Minos and Sisyphus' failed revolutions, but seeing this, I'm sure it would be just as blast of a watch. Keep the bangers up. :D
The revolutions were actually planned to be in this video, but I'm gonna wait until the full game is out so I can cover the full story! Also thank you!! 💖
Could you imagine also talking about the "lore" of the secret levels? I don't know if theres even lore to be found in there except for the info terminals at the end, but that makes them all the more interesting to me. What relevancy does the size 2 fish have in the Ultrakill universe? What exactly is Something Wicked? Why does V1 imagine Mirage? Things like that!
One idea I think could be fun is that for a while those exploring further down from Limbo ended up in the court of Minos (alive and still with his old job), who was largely amicable. They then went on from there
I am quite sure powering machines by blood wasn't a choice, in ULTRAKILL lore blood = anima, every single machine was always powered by blood, including pre-war street cleaners and purple camera drones I believe
Amazing video, my only complain is the God part and his reason of leaving because in my opinion the testament IV shows that God feels more regret and sadness than rage and frustration towards humanity, he doomed them all and it was a matter of time before storm instead in the video you made it seem like he just bounced off slightly angered and frustrated (And also no mention of Lucifer) Oh and also the theory of Hell manipulating ALL of machines i dont agree with, because i personally believe machines are their own thing and hell is just making use of them as entertaiment but not directly controlling them
Yeah, those are valid points. I did mention in the beginning that God had felt a regret, and that he had also felt like he failed mankind. There was no mention of Lucifer either, yeah, but I did mention that God regretted creating Hell, which references the terminal entry you're talking about, although I did not directly state it that way. I hope we get to see someday what calamity actually caused the ocean styx to form and what caused the end of mankind!
This video needs to be pushed to the algo. There are essentially two other comprehensive videos like this, and one series of videos that go in depth into the lore. Your video is just as profound, insightful, and videographically impressive as them. Great work!
One thing I don't understand is how certain machines, particularly V2, can feel emotions that wouldn't make sense for it to have if it were controlled entirely by Hell, primarily during its second duel with V1 where it can become enraged instantly when struck with its own arm, or Mindflayers becoming enraged when their desired body is damaged (which occurs on Violent difficulty and above)... as for V2 enraging when you stay away from it for long enough, this makes sense under the theory that Hell controls _all_ the machines.
I think it's connected to blood. Blood symbolizes life in Ultrakill Universe (even "artificial life", machines, need blood), so it's likely it is also connected to souls and emotions.
I mean, they most certainly *are* sentient with emotions and the like. Swordsmachine has a following of scrapheads that look up to it and copy its appearance (leading to more Swordsmachines showing up later in-game)
This is the best and closest thing we've got to an Ultrakill documentary, a banger as always Gohr! One of the downsides and upsides of the lore as of now is that it is very sparse (as of now, anyways), which means you can fill in the gaps imaginatively or have to piece together a puzzle with many pieces missing, and I think you did an amazing job making things work!
I am from the Hispanic community of Ultrakill, I don't speak much English but I honestly enjoyed this video a lot, I was expecting more ultrakill lore. 10/10
v1 when he kills everything and is just sitting at the bottom layer of hell waiting for a husk to come by as a blood refill *8 bit humming of take care* oh! free blood, refreshing *8 bit humming of take care* or does he just slam storage his way back up the elevators???
3:47 Now that layer 7 has arrived we know that Humans were outclassed far before the v models and machines had already taken over in war. V models were created to defeat the fortresses that were earthmovers, the pinnacle of machines with a shied generator that rendered them nearly indestructible all exterior threats, including themselves, making way for a new subset small highly nimble machines like the v models to destroy them within
Now that Layer 7 is out, the biggest difference between this and canon is that the world turned into Mortal Engines for a while between the Final War and New Peace.
I understand that with the new lore in act 3 the circle of violence The great war was divided into 3 phases before the Great Peace The first with the Guttermans, the second with the Eartovers and the third with V1 All ending in the ecological disaster leading to an eternal night and the discovery of hell to go to the Great Peace
not quite. the first phase was trench warfar before machines were commonplace, and then the invention of the guttermen ended that first phase and began the second phase, which was an arms race to create a new machine that was able to take down the last one. eventually the earthmover was invented, and was so unfathomably powerful that not just the war but EVERYTHING revolved around them, with entire cities being built on their backs since they rendered the ground inhabitable. the V-model was a prototype of a machine specialized to infiltrate and destroy earthmovers, but after the creation of V1 the war ended due to the Long Night (the afformentioned ecological disaster). this is mostly going off of new information, specifically the terminal entries for the guttermen, guttertanks, earthmover, and V2's first encounter.
@@Octobeann I couldn't fully understand the details thank you . Knowing that V1 is specially made to infiltrate and destroy Earthmovers that would explain how it can overcome various models without problems. It is because it is designed to overcome any defense of the Earthmover, whether it is a robot or not.
i think that ur unique interpretation on the storyline of ULTRAKILL is a unique twist and the editing is really eye-catching. some parts scare the hell outta me as well! great job, and i cant wait for the update on the full release of Imperfect Hatred and some parts of Godfist Suicide as they release crucial parts of the Final War and the New Peace. bravo on my end 👏
Saw an epic comment by Rosant7074, and it inspired me to create something similar, among the same lines. Demons. Hell. It had all gone downhill. It had all crashed, burned and been swallowed by Hell itself. But he would not die yet, he had one final thing to do. Swearing to avenge humanity, even if indirectly, he journeyed to where it all started. The Hell Exploration Operation. After all, he had helped with it. He signed the damn contract. And it was his biggest regret. He made his way into the dumping chamber of the "useless" machines, and there was one that he needed. The first model of the V series, *V1.* He helped make this one too, and it would help him avenge humanity, even if he were to die before it could work. He broke open the glass, ignoring the agonising, bleeding pain in his hand and elbow, and limped to the shut down V1. He tore it off the wall and carried it to the elevator that would send it down. He changed its objective. "FIND A WEAPON." "SURVIVE." And wrote a last message to his creation before the demons found him, as they had followed him this entire time. "MANKIND IS DEAD. BLOOD IS FUEL. HELL IS FULL." With the slamming of a button, he saw the V1 turn on and study him curiously with its monotone yellow optical sensor, before falling down into Hell itself. He turned and accepted his fate, bleeding out, dying as the monsters of Hell burst through the doors, ready to rip him asunder.
One thing I will say is it seems like V1 isn't under Hell's control and is very LATE to this fight, the rest of the machines seem like they've been within hell for a long time, and V1 has only just arrived, V1 has also singlehandedly left multiple layers of hell barren, as if attempting to destroy it's entertainment entirely by playing by it's rules.
I really like the idea that hell is rewarding machines for entertaining it , I think that also explains why P-ranking levels gets harder, because hell realizes you’re an actual threat and tries to dissuade you from going further.
The fact that you can get custom skins in ultrakill implies that atleast SOME machines have some sort of emotion to simply perceive appealing patterns as worth buying. They are not just functioning of off perceived value of P and weaponry. Which is interesting. Or i am making an excuse for wasting 1 million p just to make a pink revolver
Bro your editing is pure art for my eyes i love it, your OST/Theme selection is perfect and you create an analog horror whit ultrakill deam. Pure fucking art (idk if is me but i see the chapter budget like: _Chapter 1_)

Imagine how funny it would be if the entire ultrakill lore was just a fanfic story written by mirage

@@tiagocunha4821 it says in the terminal entry that the earthmovers powered down due to lack of sunlight
there was eventually a great age of peace after people managed to undo the death and destruction caused by the earthmovers, as told by the terminal as well

There are actually a lot of them
There are MANY lore videos
there are so many of them
You thought

10/10
- Captivating history
- Clear distinction of cannon and theory
- Great storytelling
- Accurate depictions of lore
- Generally entertaining
- 30 minutes of content
- Even the theories make sense and are greatly interesting
I wouldn't be surprised if Hakita made this video or something similar the actual story of the fall of mankind, since it actually does make sense and is some of the most fun videos of ULTRAKILL lore out there. The editing was on point, the recordings/videos were fantastic, great background footage and, overall, just a really good video. Keep up the good work, man!
I'm so happy that you think so highly of my video. Reading your comment made me smile! 😊💖

i like to think that V1 is just a perfectly normal robot in the first act,and becomes stronger and smarter as he feeds in the blood of stronger demonds (and angels) something like how gut´s dragon slayer was just a normal sword that got cursed after bathing in the blood of many demons and apostols and now it can kill even ghosts, every time v1 suffer damages and reconstruct himself using demon/angel blood,he starts to become something else, that is my theory as to why sometimes he seems to show emotions, this also aplying to many other blood fueled machines, but mostly to v1 since he has that self reconstruction capability
Yeah, makes more sense than V1 just being able to beat up angels hot off the conveyor belt
being able to turn ultrakill into analog horror flawlessly is a different type of talent
@@RubyRedPhoenix413 v2 got splattered with no bits remaining, and with the v models being one of a kind it would have no way of reproducing them

i like watching these videos with the ultrakill lore, this game is already a masterpiece and there's also an incredible story? the amazingness just never ends does it?
It truly never does.
i like how this felt more like a full fledged documentary than just a lore analysis, great job, it was an enjoyable watch!
That was my aim, glad you enjoyed it!
crazy idea:
the marksman revolver, like some of the other weapons, was actually made for human use during the brief time humans willingly entered and explored hell after the discovery of ferrymen.
That's really interesting! I like it!
Thank you though, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

no matter if it's 100% accurate or not, it's so atmospheric and well executed. awesome work
I love how ultrakill's landscape isnt just the burning hell that the christians had imagined, but is instead an immersive implication and visualisation of dante's inferno, with the 9 layers of hell, an angel by the name of gabriel trying to stop the protagonist from going further down the spiral of hell.
To be honest, the silliness of the game means that the lore can be thrown out of the window and can be explained by: funny robot need fuel. Robot get fuel. Robot has fuel. Robot want more.
bruh who let eggman be in ultrakill
bro think he dr robotnik

You monster
Just realized the story of ultrakill would make a terrifying analog horror seires a story about how machines that have been taken over by hell itself are killing everyone humans not being able to even step outside without being burned to a crisp or having their face blown off by a sentry or the v modles and think about all of the people who had personal mindflayers or what (im guessing swords machine was) a contruction bot crushing your buddy with a concret slab right beside you or hearing a machine looking for you especialy streat cleaners the terrifying noises they make when speaking
(Spoilers for P-1 and P-2)
One thing that I've been wondering for a bit is... is V1 also controlled by hell?
@@gohrcat Is that why the V machines statuses are supreme? I wonder how the terminals rank their enemies
@@onioneroI believe it’s specifically a hierarchy based on entertainment value. I think it’s mentioned in one of the lore terminals.

Could you imagine also talking about the "lore" of the secret levels? I don't know if theres even lore to be found in there except for the info terminals at the end, but that makes them all the more interesting to me. this is so awesome please make more! i could watch this all day
There will be more!
Best upload this month so far 🔥🔥🔥
Amazing video, my only complain is the God part and his reason of leaving because in my opinion the testament IV shows that God feels more regret and sadness than rage and frustration towards humanity, he doomed them all and it was a matter of time before storm
instead in the video you made it seem like he just bounced off slightly angered and frustrated (And also no mention of Lucifer)
Oh and also the theory of Hell manipulating ALL of machines i dont agree with, because i personally believe machines are their own thing and hell is just making use of them as entertaiment but not directly controlling them
Yeah, those are valid points.

My personal theory:
A bunch of vampiric robots powered by blood, destroy humanity on earth for blood, and then enter hell for more blood.
Yeah, I don't have any idea about that either. Hopefully we get another dev commentary stream so that we can get more questions answered :)
I mean, they most certainly *are* sentient with emotions and the like. Swordsmachine has a following of scrapheads that look up to it and copy its appearance (leading to more Swordsmachines showing up later in-game)
The best Ultrakill lore video ive ever watched!
Waiting for part 2!
This video is amazing, my only problem with it is that i sort of wish you theorized how V1 and V2 got to hell.
Thank you for the information ULTRATECHnician

3:47 Now that layer 7 has arrived we know that Humans were outclassed far before the v models and machines had already taken over in war. V models were created to defeat the fortresses that were earthmovers, the pinnacle of machines with a shied generator that rendered them nearly indestructible all exterior threats, including themselves, making way for a new subset small highly nimble machines like the v models to destroy them within
Now that Layer 7 is out, the biggest difference between this and canon is that the world turned into Mortal Engines for a while between the Final War and New Peace.
The ultra kill lore is amazing and so are the videos explaining it, I’m exited for act 3 to add more info to this.(nice job btw)

Wow the story here is great and we haven't even entered hell yet
i cant be the only one who found it hilarious that at the end it goes from V2 killing a person in hiding to the most up-beat outro music ever
I understand that with the new lore in act 3 the circle of violence
The great war was divided into 3 phases before the Great Peace
The first with the Guttermans, the second with the Eartovers and the third with V1
All ending in the ecological disaster leading to an eternal night and the discovery of hell to go to the Great Peace
not quite. the first phase was trench warfar before machines were commonplace, and then the invention of the guttermen ended that first phase and began the second phase, which was an arms race to create a new machine that was able to take down the last one. eventually the earthmover was invented, and was so unfathomably powerful that not just the war but EVERYTHING revolved around them, with entire cities being built on their backs since they rendered the ground inhabitable. the V-model was a prototype of a machine specialized to infiltrate and destroy earthmovers, but after the creation of V1 the war ended due to the Long Night (the afformentioned ecological disaster). this is mostly going off of new information, specifically the terminal entries for the guttermen, guttertanks, earthmover, and V2's first encounter.
Love this perspective.
Hakita better make some those theory parts canon. They fit perfectly with the narrative of ultrakill. Like a glove.

8:31 Strangely enough, this moment was enough for me to stop the video, throw my arms into the air and say"I love this".
The first model of the V series,
*V1.*
He helped make this one too, and it would help him avenge humanity, even if he were to die before it could work. He broke open the glass, ignoring the agonising, bleeding pain in his hand and elbow, and limped to the shut down V1. He tore it off the wall and carried it to the elevator that would send it down.
He changed its objective.
"FIND A WEAPON."
"SURVIVE."
And wrote a last message to his creation before the demons found him, as they had followed him this entire time.
"MANKIND IS DEAD. BLOOD IS FUEL. HELL IS FULL."
With the slamming of a button, he saw the V1 turn on and study him curiously with its monotone yellow optical sensor, before falling down into Hell itself.
He turned and accepted his fate, bleeding out, dying as the monsters of Hell burst through the doors, ready to rip him asunder.
I would believe there is at least a few humans alive that either made a deal with hell or befriended it and helps repair / build machines
One thing I will say is it seems like V1 isn't under Hell's control and is very LATE to this fight, the rest of the machines seem like they've been within hell for a long time, and V1 has only just arrived, V1 has also singlehandedly left multiple layers of hell barren, as if attempting to destroy it's entertainment entirely by playing by it's rules.
i love that interpretation of mankind’s extinction, plus that part at the end was cool as hell
The part at the end was my fav part to edit and film, hell yeah.
I really like the idea that hell is rewarding machines for entertaining it , I think that also explains why P-ranking levels gets harder, because hell realizes you’re an actual threat and tries to dissuade you from going further.
Interesting theory…
