Thanks for doing this. As a budding triathlete, I’d really like to know the differences even if I’m not at world class speed. The mini details (speed aside) are what really matter for us age groupers. 😅
No problem! The differences are felt no matter the speed. When I worked in a tri shop, I always used to tell people that the longer you're on the course, the more time the gear has to make a difference ;)
Honestly, the suit is so hard to get on and hard to breathe in, we just don't see it as an option, regardless of however fast it may test in a controlled environment. The 3.0 fit me a little better than it fit Paula, but once we tried these other brands it was like a wave of relief. We appreciate their pursuit of ultimate speed, but the fit needs work.
I'm sure the folks at Orca told you this but the Orca Apex Flex is even more focused towards good swimmers and might be of interest to you both. Great video as always, thanks PENF.
The wetsuit comparison was helpful, providing evaluation criteria besides just the speed. The music choices were great. The outdoor running looked slippery.

Important dog running question: now sure how cold it is but here in KC the temps have been really low like -1 F so running/ hiking in the cold with the dogs they eventually get really cold paws. Does Flynn ever do booties or any paw pad protection?
We hadn't thought of QR, but Sailfish, ARK, and possibly Zoot are on the list still. Deboer was a no-go in the fit category, unfortunately. Some major changes from their 2.0 to 3.0 suits.
Paula!!!:) veggie burrito,,,so good!!! Sent tingles through my body:) you go full veggie, or I call it not eating life, then pooping it,,,you will be amazed on how good your life goes:) so if there are life angles,,,I think there is:) you got their attention:)
And Eric, I would do a open water test on the wet suits, like really test them out, start,swimming the long distance, like every day:) then after a week or a month, you will have a favorite,,,then just go long,,,as I do believe you are built for it:) if you go long, you can really focus on the swim, and since you come out of the swim so good, I would make this my number one disapline:) just thoughts from a guy who has not eating life in about 4 years, however my true claim to fame, is how many people I get to join my way of life,,,we dont eat life,,,we live it:)
I am an adult swimmer so not the best resource, but I LOOOOVE mine. Roka was great, but they haven’t changed their technology since I bought one years ago. I love that sailfish has different styles for your swim experience. Give it a try!!

It would be interesting to include in your testing your last year Deboer as benchmark to quantify(ish) gains (or loss) you get with other brands…

Hopefully ARK and Sailfish. And maybe another option from Orca since they have several different options, depending on how you like a suit to feel.
