When Lucy Charles-Barclay says that she knows she is in trouble if she doesn't have a 10 min lead on Anne going into the run , then you know you are talking about a very special talent. She is just flippen amazing. Warm greetings from Cape Town, South Africa !!
Her thoughts about her life before "Not coming the easy way" but she trains so hard. What an athlete she is. Always looking ahead trying to get better.
wow impressive, many talk the talk, Anne walks the walk: living a spartan existence when she could easily live in some fancier place, training hard at this age, forsaking social connections... i wish her many more years in this sport and doing what she loves most.
The competition is getting more and more fearsome for every year leaving no room for anything but the sport if you want to be competing for the podium. Is that obsession? Perhaps but it is certainly also dedication and extreme willpower.
I tried running like Anne and i got injured and never got into my first full marathon i signed in. (Sounds ridiculous but true) She’s is beyond extra 💪🏼
Every time i run my tiny 2.5 km run in the super sprint, i chant " Run like Annie Haug, run like Annie Haug". I am just learning to swim and my run is terrible but i love doing it.
Never liked this lady, but after seeing this video...I think I can learn to respect Anne for her commitment to this sport, and to herself getting better, good luck going forward Anne Haug!
An awesome video, she is so cool and glad to see this video to learn more about her. Random but where did she get her bed that folds into the wall? I would love one for my next apartment, to save so much space!! IKEA?
Feeling water the training feeling after a hard session I had normal life…privilege I don’t want to go the way easy way prove self… eat sleep tra in Breathe the sport.
I’ve been the soldier. In Africa I took some of the places the nun has had. I’m no where near this level. But I am pretty good and doing my first Olympic trial.
After 6 mins of this vid so little has been said of any substance and there is so little coherence that it just looks like an advertising opportunity for Eurosport
The idea of the title of this video is potentially damaging to those of us, I assume most of us, who would like to lead a healthy and happy life. One which is not dominated by it. Do not create a standard which almost no one wants to or should have to follow.
That's a good question. Is there any footage of her after she crossed the line when she won Kona? If she had family, surely she would have gone and hugged them. That's what the winners always do. Except Kristian, he hugged his coach.
This is not Dedication. This is Extortion. You can extort yourself. Your body will take everything out from you one day leaving nothing to cheer for. This should not be the way of living.
Why does she has to live in such a small flat where she even has to store the bed on the wall? I thought that at least the msot elite athletes earn enough money.
She does what she loves the most! I get it! But if it looks like a Duck, walks like a Duck and talks like a Duck, is it a Duck! Or in her case * Obsession*!
Wow, really have no sympathy for the 17 years without a holiday thing. I'm sure training is challenging at times, but the compensation and conditions more than make up for. There's always a 9-5 office job available if she fancies it.
@@amblincorkit is true. She means she hasn't has a weekend or holiday away= drinking, partying, eating rubbish on the sofa. She obviously takes recovery days, but she doesn't holiday or relax like you and I would.

Go Anne Go! ❤
Imagine a world filled with respectful disciplined & dedicated individuals
Such a BEAUTIFUL 🌍

This world needs more people like Anne. What an inspiration to us all!
Agreed! More Anne needed !
Love Anne. One of my favourites to watch and cheer for. She’s a beast 💪🏼🔥
This is ridiculously motivating and awe-inspiring stuff.
Outstanding profile on one of the world’s greatest athletes. Inspiring
Look at this body, this discipline, attitude and commitment. Grossartig Anne! Hab noch schöne 2-3 Jahre… 🌹👍🏼
What an inspiration - just what I needed in this winter weather, thanks Anne
Incredible looking out to see more of her
This is serious dedication. Day in, day out, training that hard when youre sore, tired.
No Anne, it sounds completely dedicated and amazing. Bravo 👏👌
So so very inspiring! What a hero! Also love hearing these top female athletes all praising one another. Thats true sport!

It takes being that Spartan sometimes.
Best female athlete currently out there imo. Incredible consistency.
Amazing. Passion achieves excellence
BIG fan of Anne!👍

I love it! thanks for sharing.

An amazing athlete. She has found meaning.
Not obsession but DEVOTION!
Just a Decent and Honest Human Being let alone being a Good Role Model for Men and Woman in Sport.
앤호그 어떻게 훈련했나 궁금했는데 노력이 엄청났군요 멋집니다❤
actually miss this video on PTO channel. Thank you
Rooting for her she’s epic
beauty of discipline!
Imagine even with a slight sub par swim stroke she is a world class athlete … just doing something again and again makes u world class…
Cool woman! Very good mindset

what a machine, her running style is such a beauty
she is a dude
🔥 Anne Rocks 💪
17 yrs without a break is tragic.
Feeling like you need a “break” from your life is what’s tragic. Live a life worth living and won’t need a break mate.
True. She has found a life she doesn't need an escape from, far from tragic.
Loved the intro, the Song in the background is called “Lord of the strings” by Mel Wesson - fit perfectly
An awesome video, she is so cool and glad to see this video to learn more about her. Random but where did she get her bed that folds into the wall? I would love one for my next apartment, to save so much space!! IKEA?
The AFTER, she said it best
Great video, next time use a different alarm clock than the one that gives us all ptsd please thanks

Her husband, father, mother, son daughter and friends are swimming running and cycling
It appears to me that this life is a mixture of soldier, slave and nun.
I’ve been the soldier. In Africa I took some of the places the nun has had. I’m no where near this level. But I am pretty good and doing my first Olympic trial.
But flight enough for 100 people! Cheers next Generation
Age is just a number.
Not having a holiday in 17 years seems like bad for a professional athlete
The motivation I needed on a cold, rainy morning ❤❤ Q: what are you favorite shoes for running?
'Amazing life' is in this case very subjective. Living in a lonely bubble. No holidays in 17 years, not sure I admire that
That's why Germans are so good at triathlons. Discipline. Discipline.
Most Germans have no discipline
The woman elite triathletes are total warriors vikings. Its quite scary.
You get to do what you love every day is a holiday
After 6 mins of this vid so little has been said of any substance and there is so little coherence that it just looks like an advertising opportunity for Eurosport
Which Olympic village is it? Thanks
It‘s Saarbrücken in the southwest of Germany near the french border.
What Nike trainers 2 mins in?

Life’s a holiday
she could really improve her swimming stroke
No weight resistance and so much cardio. Is this good for the heart?
Question is : are you happy even if you loose ?
Not being in any way rude, or judgemental, at all, but has Anne a family ?? Just genuinely wondering..
That's a good question. Is there any footage of her after she crossed the line when she won Kona? If she had family, surely she would have gone and hugged them. That's what the winners always do. Except Kristian, he hugged his coach.
one long holiday aint it >? , albeit with added exercise 😀
This is not Dedication. This is Extortion. You can extort yourself. Your body will take everything out from you one day leaving nothing to cheer for. This should not be the way of living.
Okay now for one second, imagine SHE told YOU how to live?? How would you like that. Everyone lives differently, this is just her way!
Why does she has to live in such a small flat where she even has to store the bed on the wall? I thought that at least the msot elite athletes earn enough money.
They do, but it seems like that was just her choice to live in the olympic village.
@@dsd6538which olympic Village?
Not everyone needs to live in big places
Looking her , If she is #3
Who is #1!??
Single-minded pursuit of a narrow goal is a recipe for psychological one-sidedness. Quite prone to crisis....
Listening to her I become very sad.
Unbalanced life...too obsessive leads to mental health and body image issues...
Erster
She does not realise her life is a holiday
Very far from holiday…
She does realize it. That's exactly what she's saying when she talks about choosing this life and it being worth it
Bingo.
you had 17 years of holiday you mean. i pay to do what you do
Efficient.
She does what she loves the most! I get it! But if it looks like a Duck, walks like a Duck and talks like a Duck, is it a Duck! Or in her case * Obsession*!
Better then being a drug addict, binge drinker, alcoholic
Wow, really have no sympathy for the 17 years without a holiday thing. I'm sure training is challenging at times, but the compensation and conditions more than make up for. There's always a 9-5 office job available if she fancies it.
Wtf
I doubt if this is actually true given most modern atheltes now recognise that rest is a necessary part of an athletes life
