I never wanted to homeschool my children but I am too scared to send my kids to school in this environment. My heart breaks for these families and their suffering.
Why did you never want to homeschool them? Are they fast learners? Do they enjoy learning? If so, it should be a breeze for you til high school. At that point, they can attend college for free as a Jr & Sr in high school. Pretty sweet deal.
My neighbors home schooled and lost two of their kids in a car wreck. Car wrecks are much more common than school shootings so don't let your kids ride in a car either.

So glad the police officers ran in once they heard the shots being fired. They saved a lot more children and adults! It could of been much worse, had it been like in Uvalde where those officers were scared to go in. Praying for the families, adults and little angels lost😢
in 20 short years we went from running into burning skyscrapers to rescue people cause it was our job to refusing to go to work unless we received tens of thousands of dollars extra to care for people during a 3 year flu season.

This is ridiculous. I heard little kids playing out back of a daycare this week they sounded like happy little birds. I know I'll try to save at least one child if everything happens around me. Totally evil and inexcusable.
I work as a school resource officer. These things are hard to watch especially when you work around kids everyday and get familiar with them. I'm a combat vet, EMT and I get all the training I can to prepare myself for these types of situations. Most of all, I stay very vigilant that no one gets into the school or even comes close without proper authorization.

You have no idea how horribly guilty I feel every single day sending my 5 and 6 year old to public school every single day. I’m knowingly putting their lives in danger just sending them to school. As a single father I don’t know what else to do. I have no options on homeschooling. Being the single one that has to provide.
I feel for you. It’s senseless. I had to leave the country. I can’t raise my babies in my home country anymore. It makes me incredibly sad. I’m even scared to visit my family back home.

There was an active shooter at the hospital where my son works. It took an hour for me to learn that my son was okay. I know what it's like to wait for news of your child. Since no one was killed because the police caught the shooter right away, it didn't make national news. There are many stories like this.
I live in Knoxville and this is heartbreaking to know that this happened during MY SCHOOL DAY only two and a half hours away. Praying for everyone in this horrific event.

It has happened in Germany, it still does and it still can. That is so naive. Violence is increasing in Germany. Most violence is with knives and guns are also on the rise for Germany. Remember all the attacks in trains to children, just 1-2 months ago near Kiel and in Bayern. A man broke into a church in Hamburg 2 weeks ago with guns killing 6 to 7 people. Think of Halle also with guns. Just 1 week ago a 12 year old was killed by 2 classmates. Many things happen in Germany that are not in the media. Maybe you are not seeing this but it is there. The gun violence in the US is incomprehensible and truly incomparable. However, Germany is not immune and since wars have started, borders no longer controlled and the black market is perhaps growing, many more illegal weapons are in Germany.

I've home schooled my 5 children for 20 yrs., and this is one reason why I'm glad my husband was all in. Yeh we got ridiculed, but hey they are safe. My husband is also able to teach life skills to our children. It's wanderful😊

As of now: Audrey Hale, 28, former student there. Now goes by Aiden Hale. Used he/him pronouns. Had a wierd obsession with wanting to "stay young forever/never grow up". Had written a manifesto about doing this, at this private Christian school. There was virtually no security. Probably because they felt since it wasn't a public school, it was automatically safer.
What is going on in this country? You can't even send your kids to school anymore. Last week it was Colorado, this week Nashville and where next week? Enough already and yes, parents like me who never thought we would have to home school our kids are doing it. We have no choice. I am not going to spend 8 hours M-F having panic attacks worrying that my kids could be killed just going to school.

My wife a 43 year High School teacher currently teaches at a Career Center here in Ohio. There are not only dozens of cameras but certain unnamed teachers that are armed. Still, there's no way to prevent these senseless killings totally.
For the record they did not pass away. They were murdered. There is a tremendous difference.

It has happened in Germany, it still does and it still can. That is so naive. Violence is increasing in Germany. Most violence is with knives and guns are also on the rise for Germany. Remember all the attacks in trains to children, just 1-2 months ago near Kiel and in Bayern. A man broke into a church in Hamburg 2 weeks ago with guns killing 6 to 7 people. Think of Halle also with guns. Just 1 week ago a 12 year old was killed by 2 classmates. Many things happen in Germany that are not in the media. Maybe you are not seeing this but it is there. The gun violence in the US is incomprehensible and truly incomparable. However, Germany is not immune and since wars have started, borders no longer controlled and the black market is perhaps growing, many more illegal weapons are in Germany.

Banning assault riffles wont stop people from committing these kind of homicides for a number of reasons:
-Illegal guns: Even if assault rifles were banned, it's still possible for people to obtain them illegally. Therefore, a ban on assault riffles may only serve to disarm or harm law-abiding citizens, while criminals continue to have the upper hand due to having access to assault rifles.
-Other weapons: If assault riffles were banned, people who are determined to commit homicides may simply use other weapons. For example, pistols type guns, knives, blunt objects, or even vehicles can be used to harm others. Therefore, banning assault riffles is not going to reduce these school shootings.
-Mental health issues: People who are intent on committing homicide may be motivated by a range of factors, including mental health issues or personal grievances. Even if guns were banned, people with these underlying issues may still seek to harm others using other means.
-Banning assault riffles will not reduce school shootings, it is not a foolproof solution. Other factors such as mental health issues, access to illegal guns, and the availability of other weapons may still lead to acts of violence. A more comprehensive approach that addresses the root causes of violence and provides support for those with mental health issues may be more effective in reducing overall levels of violence.
Instead of funding these wars, we should spend the money here and spend it on our brothers and sisters fighting with mental health issues at the same time providing universal healthcare for anyone that is in need of it. We should not leave anyone behind just to be ignored with no type of type of help. We need better social safety nets for people that lose everything and become homeless overnight that in many cases causes mental health. I believe this would greatly help with what we are seeing happen at our schools and beyond.

As of now: Audrey Hale, 28, former student there. Now goes by Aiden Hale. Used he/him pronouns. Had a wierd obsession with wanting to "stay young forever/never grow up". Had written a manifesto about doing this, at this private Christian school. There was virtually no security. Probably because they felt since it wasn't a public school, it was automatically safer.

My wife a 43 year High School teacher currently teaches at a Career Center here in Ohio. There are not only dozens of cameras but certain unnamed teachers that are armed. Still, there's no way to prevent these senseless killings totally.
