- The standard drops (back, corner, and face) are conducted from 1m onto a concrete block.
- The "bonus" drops are meant to test impact and shock resistance, therefore are conducted from 1.45m onto a steel surface.
- The bonus "bonus" round (name is temporary) is conducted from 1.45m onto a concrete block.

Intentional Drop: Did not shatter
*Accidental Drop: Broken*
The unwritten rule
Relatable
@Namir Deshmukh How? You do know that phone glass is only strong on the majority of points, but the weirdest falls will shatter the bitch. That's why I slapped a case on my Note20 Ultra even though it passed the drop test with flying colours. And my ZFold2 doesn't really need it since most of it is super thin glass and I gorilla grip it every time I take it out
@Namir Deshmukh but iphones are weird i once dropped my iphone 11 pro like 1,5 m on a rock nothing happened then I dropped it on a soft carpet and the glass shattered now I switched to the note 20 ultra
Focken annoying as heck right
That was pretty impressive especially after years of pretty weak performances on the drops.
Nice.
Nice
Nice
Next iPhone they should work on the back and make it stronger, btw good job apple for the screen
Nice
They weren't fooling around when they made that claim. I though it was just another marketing gibberish
Seriously impressive
Yeah exactly, that's the issue with marketing hype - when they overhype everything, it's hard to tell at first when something is _actually_ as good as they say!
Ey I dont wanna argue, but last year when Apple claimed they used the "strongest glass on a phone" with the iPhone 11 series,
they were kinda lying. The Galaxy Note 10 Plus destroyed the iPhone in the same drop test by PhoneBuff. Just saying.
@@DarkGenesisSo2 hence why people were skeptical this year when they made the toughest glass claim again
@@darthkujo it's also much stronger. Gotta check mobilereviewseh test.
@@DarkGenesisSo2 What does that have to do with this? Apple was overhyping it last year - but this year it was actually warranted, exactly as their comment implied...
That’s actually genuinely impressive

After seeing this test I am impressed. Apple get this one Right. Now to the speed test in phonebuff style 😎

It's a Samsung display...
@@austin3154 so what??
We’re talking about the glass that protects the display, not the display itself
But it took them so long
@@austin3154 LOL, that's the majority of AMOLED displays out there. Yet still, each manufacture gets a different standard. That's Why Apple's and Samsung's phones simply have MUCH better displays than the competion. (With Sam going the oversaturated way, while Apple trying to "True Color"
Honorable mention: Oneplus also has amazing displays, but that's about it. The rest is trash.

Lmfao 🤣
I can’t wait for him to get his hands on them lol
That’s pretty funny
Namir Deshmukh well yes until they use something harder than diamond on the front screen it will still scratch :)
Namir Deshmukh use brain. If they can put ceramic crystals on a glass sheet I’m sure they will find a way to do it with diamond some time.. :)
There is a reason why doesn't Apple put a ceramic shield on the back glass. Screen repair cost:
front- USD 279
back- USD 549
And that's the US pricing just think how much will they cost in India 😂
@@lost9680 Another kidney 😂😂😂
In other countries you can probably buy a whole new iPhone for the cost of Indian iPhones replace the back glass ;)
@@RennieAsh Still in US if you don't like the phone you can return it to apple and get the refund. Which is not available in India even after paying 1.6x the price of US.
This has nothing to do with that dude. The prices are so high for the back because of the phone design. For a back replacement you have to replace pretty much the entire phone while the screen can easily be replaced on its own. The iPhone gets opened from the front, while most Android phones are opened from the back. That's why on most Android phones it's the other way around with the display being way more expensive than the back. That's just "by design".
Apple: The Back glass costs more to repair than the front one
Also Apple: We only added Ceramic Shield to the front
@DerpyDoge exactly. so the one without ceramic should be cheaper
@DerpyDoge it's just all marketing jargons. It's basically Gorilla glass victous.
@@osahon9483 This has nothing to do with the Ceramic shield... the phone is designed so you can open it from the front, not the back. Replacing the back is WAY harder because of the design of the iPhones. Just like on Android phones it's mostly way harder to replace the front. That's the only reason why the back is so much more expensive.
My point is that they should have added the new glass to the rear, since it's more expensive (they actually replace the whole phone, and recycle the old one)
Utkarsh Mishra Gorilla Glass Victus is a different technology
The only thing broke with every dropping is my heart!
and the beautiful back that was shattered. I'm probably going to get a case for it as usual but thankfully not going to need a screen protector. So, I'm still happy

*edit* I was super tired and couldn't think of the name "corning" last night, sorry 🤣 it's not Samsung and Apple tech, they're just using it! I was sleeeeeeeepy 🤣*
That's amazing. The new Samsung did the same. I love this better glass tech. So much better for the consumer.

@@CAHSOLO99 No. Its Apple's solo work of renaming Gorilla Glass Victus .
I really love your drop tests!
The only one you can expect good consistency of👍
Ceramic Shield is a great choice by Apple though, even with it being more vulnerable to scratches in exchange for durability, a lot iPhone owners have tempered glass screen protectors on their phones anyway (that is more scratch resistant), so if your iPhone gets dropped, it's guaranteed the front glass won't break
Ceramic shield proved its tough to shatter the screen, good work by apple

I was waiting for it for a long time , 'ceremic shield ' testing
Finally a perfect result! Awesome new technology!
Wow! That was impressive. Good job, Apple! 📱👏🏼
Great video as always. Can't wait on the iPhone 12 pro max speed test.
Excellent work guys. Love this video❤️❤️❤️
The iphone 12 design puts the glass below the frame , so the drop tests are hitting the frame and not the glass. The glass is stronger this year , which helps. However, scratch tests show similar damage compared to iphone 11.
Would you consider using asphalt or more uneven concrete? I feel as though my most damaging drops happen outdoors.
i waited so long for this
Right video at right time. Kudos brother...

BRUH, You Don’t Even Know How Long I’ve Been Waiting For Your Video. You’ve Truly Set The Standard For Drop Tests Just Like JerryRigEverything Does His Durability Test. Keep Up The Good Work Mate :D
Why You Gotta Write With Capital Letter For Each Word?
Amazing results. I still insist on always using a glass screen protector on my 12 anyway, but raises a question: is there many widely available tempered glass protectors for the rear of the phone? I’d feel so much more confident using my phone without a case if rear protectors were widely available.
I paid $4.00 for the tempered glass protector that is on the back of my iPhone
Everything’s good untill Apple’s claim turn out to be true 😂.
Love these videos!
I have seen probably 6 drop tests on the new iPhones, and in EVERY SINGLE VIDEO the phones perform amazingly. These iPhones are incredibly durable. I never thought I would ever say it. They are absolute tanks.
Now waiting on JerryRigEverything

Anyways, the scenario you have was truly pointless. No real life environment would eradicate weapons or machinery. Plus, that this of glass is built for places with natural disasters or armored vehicles.
I'm not a fan of Apple but the ceramic shield did surprisingly well. Finaly they did a good job.
NOW it’s official! Waiting for official speed & battery tests!

Those raise bezels really did a good job! I wish he would have placed a small pebble or something down and dropped them face down on that. I rarely drop my phone on a smooth surface. I'm outside a lot.

Thank you dude 🙏🙏🙏
Those days of seeing people using cracked iPhones will be over soon. Props to Apple.
The Apple should use ceramic shield 🛡 for the rear glass as well. I am expecting it in upcoming iPhone 📲.
@Namir Deshmukh yes, if they are pricey, they should be more durable 😍
@Namir Deshmukh I am not a big fan for 120Hz display to be honest. I personally prefer to have a more durable phone. Let’s the iPhone increase the battery size then it will be fruitful , because 120Hz drains battery quickly and with 5G you can assume, your phone will not last longer as it used to be.
My friend bought Oneplus Nord, with 90Hz and he was like, at 90Hz phone battery drains quickly, though the phone has 4000+mah battery.
So iPhone has to use smart Display Hz rate, to optimize battery.
“Both phones are still able to do phone calls” proceeds to tap 911
I think its the corner/edge drops that are more likely to crack the screen, as the chassis bends on impact.
