The added weight of the iPhone is really not helping at all. Apple has to improve their materials once again because reducing the battery is not really an option anymore. Reducing the quality of materials is not the Apple way either. So they need something that is stronger than steel but just as fancy and good looking.
The iPhone 14 Pro are exactly the same weight as last year. And that despite the fact that the batteries got BIGGER on the 14 Pro - not smaller. And the difference on the Pro Max is negligible. It went from 4352 to 4323. Android manufacturers use 4900 mAh batteries but advertise them as 5000 mAu because there are always slight differences between each battery. Which means: the 13 Pro Max and 14 Pro Max have the same sized battery after all.
I feel like as these phones get heavier they get more vulnerable regardless with the improvements. Like I don’t remember the 12 Pro Max suffering as much as the 13 and 14. Like I don’t think they are consider weight with these designs or don’t care cause you are going to put a case on it.

The only test in this that is valid is the first one (when the back breaks on the iPhone.) After that, there's no telling how much damage is incurred from each new test because the fractured glass is just going to fracture more no matter what happens to it. Like with a car windshield, the glass is likely integral to the structure and once compromised the ability to absorb impacts may be significantly affected. I'd like to see a repeat of the other tests with undamaged iPhones. That's the only way to know what, especially, the corner drop actually does to an undamaged iPhone.
Nah these tests are actually completely useless. You can always be lucky or have bad luck with a drop. You can drop your phone from 3m and nothing happens and you can drop it from 50cm with a case and the glass breaks. All these tests show nothing but how the phones get damaged when they drop in EXACTLY the ways the get dropped here and your phone will never drop exactly like this. Even in these standardized tests here the phone always drops slightly different which has huge impact on the damage.
I don't think that is a good idea, from a logical standpoint. The stainless steel is probably more expensive and more difficult zu manufacture, at the same time doesn't help the phone not to crack its glass. Using flat screens instead of curved woulf probably be better.
It's hurt right in the heart. I'm from Brazil and the cost of these phone are really higher than other countries. So we need to have even more carefully 💀
Apple needs to switch the Pro iPhones’ material to titanium to make them more drop resistant (it’s more durable and it’s lighter-you know it’s a good material for extreme conditions since they used it in the Watch Ultra). Apple also needs to minimize that camera bump. It’s a really big point of failure and previous iPhones with smaller camera bumps fared better on the drop test. Maybe make the phone thicker and switch to a hybrid design that curves towards the back but is flat towards the front? Kind of like the iPod touches.
Is it me or did both phone's durability get worse? I remember when phonebuff tested the 12 Pro Max and the S21U, they both went through multiple rounds of drops before getting some type of crack.
Apple employee :" sir, last we downgraded the durability of our device, users weren't happy. Should we, perhaps, make it as good as iPhone 12 this time?" Tim :"nah make it even worse" Fanboi : InNoVaTiOn, Apple is da best.

The reason the back looks worse is because Ceramic Shield is only supported on the front. But close race overall. It’ll be interesting to see how they both do in the battery and performance test. I expect the iPhone to win in both.

So much for "The toughest Glass"...Cover your phone with a case and front glass protector...which means, the color of the phone you get is absolutely a non issue ( because it will be completely covered). Thanks for this simple test...brilliant.
As a marketer, well done Casetify on the campaign 👏🏾 I want!
in your last drop test iphone shattered exactly the same way. What a coincidence.
The test all have been waiting for! It’s not official if it’s done Phone buff style ❤🔥
when will you drop the concrete on the phone? 😆
@@Raja995mh33 Well it could be just bad luck then. After all it is only 1 phone.
IPhone 14: the weakest toughest glass on a smartphone 🤣💦
Very good video bro make more videos like this love you guys👍
I feel like as these phones get heavier they get more vulnerable regardless with the improvements. Like I don’t remember the 12 Pro Max suffering as much as the 13 and 14. Like I don’t think they are consider weight with these designs or don’t care cause you are going to put a case on it.
I actually closing my eyes with every drop, I was almost crying 🥹🥹🥹🤣

Waiting for my 14 Pro Max to arrive and I was considering going case-less and just getting AppleCare+. I’ve always used cases on all my devices but I don’t want to cover up the beauty, specifically the color! Plus Applecare+ includes unlimited accidental instances now (as opposed to the old 2/year). Anyone have experience or thoughts going case-less and relying on Applecare as your “protection”? 😅
I’ve been doing that for few years now go for it.
Apple recently said iphones don't need cases 😂😂
They never said that dude.
It's cute to see how many iphone people are knocking off the Nothing Phones design in one way or another.
Came here to say this. As soon as the first crack appears, the structural integrity is compromised and will affect how they perform with other drops.
from my experience with any phone a corner drop will most likely destroy the glass its just how glass is its all about how its hit
Ah yes, like my life isn't already filled with anxiety problems, I have come here to give myself a heart attack.
One of the most awaited test!

Drop test ip14:✅️
Police, Ambulance, cia, rescue rangers: "guys we got a emergency call"
its because curved screen, otherwise it would be still pretty normal i think
Uhh probably not lol both phones have pretty much no curve unless you’re talking about the minuscule amount around the edges
@@xDbrad yeah samsung has no curved glass ofc
6:16 Those are not dead pixels, it is the chin of the s22 ultra.
Samsung phones do not have chins, unless you in selfie mode
Samsung should definitely start having models with stainless steel, feels heavier more premium
The Note20 ultra
I don't think that is a good idea, from a logical standpoint. The stainless steel is probably more expensive and more difficult zu manufacture, at the same time doesn't help the phone not to crack its glass.
Using flat screens instead of curved woulf probably be better.
@@maitremanta3672 nah curved screen is the core selling point of samsung i also like it
It's hurt right in the heart. I'm from Brazil and the cost of these phone are really higher than other countries. So we need to have even more carefully 💀

I would love to see casefiy vs original iphone case
Apple needs to switch the Pro iPhones’ material to titanium to make them more drop resistant (it’s more durable and it’s lighter-you know it’s a good material for extreme conditions since they used it in the Watch Ultra).
Apple also needs to minimize that camera bump. It’s a really big point of failure and previous iPhones with smaller camera bumps fared better on the drop test.
Maybe make the phone thicker and switch to a hybrid design that curves towards the back but is flat towards the front? Kind of like the iPod touches.
bro nah many don't want a 300 bucks price increase

Man, just buy a case. Simple
Problem, why do I love him so much, it's better for me it's an iPhone hahahahaha
Lets be real for a sec.. Those ceramic and gorillas glass screens are just as fragile as they were on the Galaxy S1 and the first Iphone
My Chinese one plus 7 pro had plenty of no case hard drops without cracking!

Is it me or did both phone's durability get worse? I remember when phonebuff tested the 12 Pro Max and the S21U, they both went through multiple rounds of drops before getting some type of crack.
Its just luck, results will never be the same
they did not, Apple I think changed their design on the back glass, they protrude it more so that its easier to repair when broken.
@@johnricang8791 I can see that. What's up with S22U then?

Was wondering the same myself.
one question what do you do with the phones once you have tested them? because I've always wanted an IPhone and I just wanted to ask if I could possibly have Please a broken one from your videos?
The reason the back looks worse is because Ceramic Shield is only supported on the front. But close race overall. It’ll be interesting to see how they both do in the battery and performance test. I expect the iPhone to win in both.
The ceramic shield on the front cracked as well bro
@@propersod2390 reading comprehension, he said that the back looks WORSE than the front, not that the front glass didn't crack or what.
@@GeloMeme It doesn't just look worse on the back, it is missing physical chunks of glass
@@NadeemAhmed-nv2br i said WORSE because the word WORSE is a comparative word. Relative to the front glass of the iPhone, the back glass looks WORSE. Again, reading comprehension.
@@GeloMeme it's just how the phone fell, ceramic shield on this year's iPhone is basically regular glass

I have the castify ultra impact case for my iPhone 13 Pro Max. I have dropped my phone 3 times on concrete and the phone was completely fine. When you buy a 1000$ iPhone you might as well just spend a little more and get a drop protecting case
I had a cheap 3 dollar case on my older iPhone and it literally broke the day I took the case off.
Any case is probably fine.
The case sure works but makes the phone look ridiculous
I really wish he used the other slimmer case option so I could see how well that one worked :(
Your tests should ALWAYS start with the corner drop. Not sure if your first drops are corner drops in your vids in general since i'm not a regular fan of your videos but i'd suggest you switch the back drop with the corner drop as that's the most droppable position when a phone is falling to the ground
According to shape of the iphone it should have done better, but in this case it did worse.
A "case test" would be awesome. maybe a cheap 5$ case vs the bounce case
S22 ultra is the winner
