We're going to see how it holds up to every day life: Using a lighter to try and burn it - a little damage after 20 sec. Taking a box cutter to every surface - not bad. Bending it in a way that would never happen in every day life - won't snap in half. Will it crack from a drop of a couple feet? - that rarely happens in every day use, so we didn't try that.

I figured out that the battery drops around 10% or less per 1.5hrs of watching videos or movies in 1080 or HDR.

The side protected films are a relic of their parts manufacturing process. They protect them during the manufacturing process, not so much for packaging. Consumers are also confident when they see these strips as it assures them of the unit being completely new.
I love how Zack doesn’t feel the need to always get the latest and greatest smartphone when he could at anytime. I'm keeping my Note9 512GB going for another year at least, I think. Actually, I still find myself appreciating that its Samsung Pay still has MST capability. I don't know if it's just my part of the US that still has many shops that still haven't updated to RFID payment terminals but I'd say I still have to rely on MST every one out of three times I do contactless payments. I also have multiple credit cards loaded into my Samsung Pay, some of which my wife has the only physical cards for. So if I need to pay with those cards and I don't have MST where it's still required, I'd be out of luck. Otherwise, the only S22 ULTRA I'd even consider would be the 1TB model. Without MicroSD card support, I'm not interested at all in any phone with less built-in storage than that. My phone is practically my desktop computer wherever I am and I want all my data and photos/videos local on it. The cloud is fine for backups, but not for relying on at anytime, anywhere. Maybe in another year I won't need MST so much and I'll consider getting the S22 ULTRA 1TB then, or its successor?
Where are you? I travel around the entire US, and the only places that don't have NFC/MST payment terminals are Home Depot and places where you give them your card instead of swiping it yourself. It's very rare to see a terminal that's not contactless. Even most small shops have a Clover, Square, or Shopkeep POS terminal.
I also still keep my Note9 with 128GB but i use 256GB good quality microSD card from SanDisk. Iris scanner is still futuristic feature and go fast when using custom ROM alexander from XDA. One UI 2.5 Never mind for 3 or 4 if 2.5 still usefull and work fine.

@no in that sense, yeah you’re right. But compared to the note 20 it seems a decent upgrade. But I definitely agree with you calling it an “S” series with an s pen and a new(ish) design (for the s series at least).

Now if I would have traded my 10+ an paid close to $1,000 or better I would be feeling pretty shitty right now not that the S22U is bad by no means it's a awesome phone but so was my pristine condition 10+ an I would have felt like I threw money away but the deal I got I'm a happy camper lol
@@Keroberosyue I upgraded from the Note 20 ultra to S22 ultra and personally believe it's a worthy upgrade if you get a good deal. Battery life is a huge improvement I went from getting 6 hrs SOT from 100 to 0% with Note 20 U to getting 8/8.5 hrs of SOT from 100 to 10% battery with S22 ultra. Pictures are better with more detail, zoom capabilities are top notch, and the display quality is great now that I can use 120hz with WQHD+
Like I mentioned if you can get a good deal I would recommend upgrading however the Note 20 ultra is still an amazing device.
I'm really looking forward for the future s-ultra lineup. I think this s22 ultra is going to change it forever

This one was packed with jokes. Haven't giggled this much at a Jerry Rig video in a while. "not sure how I'm going to explain that the s pen, is not in fact somewhere safe" meanwhile its lying next to the phone dissected and dead.
If I had the Note 10, wouldn't have upgraded, either. However, my Note 8 was finally feeling the age bearing down on it, so I upgraded. Very happy to have done so!
The new camera layout is top notch! However most of the case manufacturers took it way too easy and just made an L shape hole on their protective cases. That's a no go! I pre-ordered dbrand's grip case! They made perfect cutouts! Thumbs up to them (as always)!
👆👆 I really appreciate the effort of the guy he's really a guess,I got my iPhone 13 pro max in less than 4 days

I translated the handwritten text with my S22 Ultra and Google Lens. I love it!
I love how you can see the framerate dropping in the lock screen to save energy
LTPO tech is so awesome. I just got my S22 Ultra, upgrading from an S21 Ultra. On both phones, unless you were looking at it through a camera, you would never ever notice the refresh rate changing.
Unless you spend a lot of time staring at the lock screen, it probably makes not much difference at all.
@@SGTRandleOneOne What's funny is the S21 ultra gets better battery life than the S22 Ultra even with the "LTPO" screen. SD 8Gen 1 is just horrdenous.

so glad i stumbled upon this video. this man is hilarious. looking forward to future videos. great content sir!
We're going to see how it holds up to every day life:
Using a lighter to try and burn it - a little damage after 20 sec.
Taking a box cutter to every surface - not bad.
Bending it in a way that would never happen in every day life - won't snap in half.
Will it crack from a drop of a couple feet? - that rarely happens in every day use, so we didn't try that.
The last one is true.
Or dropped it in water lol

@@Rontastik I guess it means something like "Go fuck yourself"... 13 soldiers on Snake Island shouted this to a russian warship. Some minutes before the Russians opened up the fire and arrested the soldiers after ammunition went empty.
I'm from an ex ussr country so I know Russian and I gotta say, the note at 3:09 did put a smile on my face, hope not only the ship but the whole Russian army goes the same way lol
Can you translate please :)
I don't speak Russian, but using Google Translate it translates to "Russian warship, or fuck" (?). Edit: Here's the translation from the Wikipedia article about Snake Island: "When the Russian warship identified itself and instructed the Ukrainian soldiers stationed on the island to surrender, their response was "Russian warship, go fuck yourself" (Russian: 'Русский военный корабль, иди на хуй', tr. Russky voyenny korabl, idi na khuy)."

It would also be nice to see how the fingerprint sensor works under a little bit of water instead of just scratching it, since a lot of people use their phone in the rain
"A lot"?? nah. I for one never needed to nor seen anyone use the phone in the rain. Even if we do, rain isn't "under water" and won't mess up with your fingerprint sensor at all... a simple wipe is enough if it really is soaked.
Coming from my S21, it gets screwed easily under the rain when you use the sensor.. might just be me

Oh, this hurts to watch!
In September 2023, there's not a single micro scratch on my S22 ultra. However, I've had mine in cases since I opened the box & I rotate TPU screen protectors every 2 to 3 months.
I figured out that the battery drops around 10% or less per 1.5hrs of watching videos or movies in 1080 or HDR.
2:20 The protected film is important, it protects the chrome from rubbing and scratching
in pockets. Also to resell, when the S6 came out, there was lots of and lots of units
that were scratched in the box, with no protectors on it.
True still annoying though I pulled my straight off.
@@wizzgamer Ya I know some might not care, they use the phone as is bare :)
But I go all out, UAG case and Whitestone dome :)
Why was there no pre-installed screen protector then?
@@WirxawTanev That is why because there was no protection on screen or side units were coming out scratched out of the box whole thread on forum about it. Also mine had same issue was a sleeve they were using.
The side protected films are a relic of their parts manufacturing process. They are exactly the same as how you car parts ex. front consoles and leather seats are covered with surface plastic before they are hauled by robots onto the car chassis. They protect them during the manufacturing process, not so much for packaging. Consumers are also confident when they see these strips as it assures them of the unit being completely new.

Was pretty surprised watching this in September 2024 :)
NOTE 9 Master race rullez.
One UI 2.5
Never mind for 3 or 4 if 2.5 still usefull and work fine.
