91 was a great year to be a Minnesota fan. Earlier in the spring The North Stars made an unbelievable run to the Stanley Cup. I went to game 3 of The Cup and game #6 of the World Series in 91. Best sports year ever.

Best World Series ever!! We had a magic carpet ride in '87 with the first world championship for the Twins, and then we had this amazing, tense, thrilling, exceptional World Series against a great team, bringing home the second championship in five years. What a ride!!! Love our Twins!!! 😁💙❤⚾️

I met Hrbek a few times, he's a great guy. He is truly one of us, just a laid back good hearted Minnesotan. I had to EDIT just to say I have also met Dan Gladden several times and he's a good guy. He signed several autographs for me.

Love it love it LOVE IT. We were from MN me and my fam but had moved to Chattanooga just 2 hours north of Atl. This series was so SO SPECIAL down here. Because the Braves had never been good, EVER. First time in World Series and the south was rockin. They LOVED the Braves down here. Me and Dad put our Homer Hankies in the back windows of our car. People would beeb at us and carry on. But all in good fun. And when we won OMG that night that moment was just one of the best moments of my life. Ecstasy. Win TWINS!!

What really impressed me about these guys was their play in the ALCS against the Blue Jays, who were a very tough opponent. They lost Game 2 at home, their first postseason loss ever at the Metrodome, which evened the series at one game apiece. It appeared they were in big trouble because they had to go into Toronto for the next three games. And they won all three games and took the series in five. Totally awesome.

As a Twins kid, I had no doubt in my mind that Puckett was the greatest player in the league. Gladden had that scrappy spirit, Harper was absolute clutch, and of course Hrbek was the man at first. In '87 we were underdogs but for some reason I knew the Twins would win in '91. This is without mentioning Morris' supreme clutch in game 7.

Braves fan here. Such an insane series. Great teams. In today's rules Braves win Game 7. Now you cannot fake a play the way Knoblauch did. That's what confused Lonnie Smith. Now Lonnie scores and thw Braves win 1-0 in nine innings. Great series nonetheless

Dan Gladden is so right! I've been saying it for 30 years, if Gant slides, he's safe. Try running as fast as you can for ten feet, then stop. What happens? Your momentum propels you a few feet further. It's called physics. Newtons first law applies to baseball players also. Gladden is 100% right.
