I already know my history back to 1600's for most of my lines. I did my DNA on ancestry, simply for the fact I had a couple of brick walls from around 1850 and I was hoping to find some DNA matches of cousins in the old country I could contact. It was a long shot, but it worked. I found a fourth cousin match in the old country and he was able to fill in one of my brick walls....I still am hoping in the future another cousin in my other brick wall line shows up who knows the missing pieces I need.

You need to read earlier studies before Zahi Hawass took over Egyptology and started to tamper with the data to fit his racist narrative and hide the truth. The southern Egyptians who are Black and now mixed Blacks are the ones who are more closely related to early Egyptians but they refuse to include that population in their studies since Hawass took over and continue to displace and hide that population.

I have bought 3 tests for myself and my children. that was a "few" months ago. We have not taken the tests (yet) What I AM looking forward to... is reading what DNA each of my children got from me and what DNA they got from their father. As far as I know... their father has not bought a test at all. It is a possiblity that I have DNA that neither of my children did inherit. It is also possible (very unlikley but still possible) that there are DNA that both of them inherited from me, another possiblity is that neither of them inherited the same DNA from me... I do know that the parent´s of my grandfather had the same grandparents as their parent´s were 1st causin (2 full brother´s married, one of them had a son and the other had a daughter... the son married the daughter of the brother and one of their children had a daughter who had me. My mother kept saying that was why both she and her father were so sick all the time. But what she never said (and possible did not know) was that her mother... well the parents (father) of her mother... had the same story... he was also the son of a couple who were 1st cousins. what does that mean for me is:
like everybody else I have 2 parents, 2 grandfathers and 2 grandmothers... My mother did have 2 parents and 4 grandparents , but she did not have 8 greatgrandparents... she had only 6. And as it was the same for the father of her mother... for the next generation... she did not have 16 ancesstors... but 14 and now I am having trouble counting...
    try again
My grandfather had 2 parents, 4 grandparents but only 6 great grandparents and 12? greatgreat grandparents...
My grandmother had 2 parents, 4 grandparents, 8 greatgrandparents and only 14 greatgreatgrandparents... (6+8 =14 should be 16) so instead of 32 for the next generation... there were only 28? or 26? I am confused about the correct math...
2-4-8-16-32 is the "normal pattern" for my mother and her brothers the pattern was 2-4-6-12?-24? 48? can you figure out how many? grandpa... 2-4-6-12-24-48 grandma... 2-4-8-14-?? so mum had 2-4-6?-10?-20??

It is sad to me to see so many not find it cool to have more information about themselves. As you pointed out with the example of the parent having chinese blood; It means two full blooded siblings could have one with the chinese dna and one with none. As they could have gotten the different part of the parents fifty percent dna. I would love to be able to compare with my siblings and see which of us got my moms Irish. I got the very small amount of Mexican that we knew about from family lore, but had no proof of. I could see my very blond sister perhaps having none of it, or maybe she has more of it and that would be a fun surprise.

But the phone is nice to stream Pandora... And for its timer to remind myself to do inconvenient things like eat and use the bathroom. LOL
Wrap-up's the hardest though. Letting those threads go for the day.. Closing the tabs one by one, bookmarking some, jotting down notes and leads for next time. It helps to promise oneself nerdy RUclips vids. And noodles. ♥️
