Havent ran kicker in years. Been a fosgate guy a long time. I currently have a p-300 12 powered wedge in a 24 honda sport hatchback would a 12 square l7 sound better?? Or a ten??? Looking for good bass response and sq too.
Yes, and yes! A 12" L7 would be both louder and better sounding, as would a 10" - you have more surface area with a 10" L7 than with a 12" round sub. If SQ is a feature you're looking for, check out our newest CompQ subwoofers that we just released!
Awesome story Master Irby now can we please get them and me being a part of the Kicker Truck delegation we need the L7 X In a 8” please we will pay the $500 per but we need them bad, if not the 10” will do but please release them Kicker Die Hard Family supports you Sir!!! And we miss Kip!
I'm patiently waiting and hoping for the announcement myself bro. I'm in a truck as well. I need that 8 don't know if I can make two 10's work in my application even doing a 3.5" seat lift. I like lows
They help bind the surround to the cone. We also add a texture to the cone edge to the adhesive sticks even better. The stitching is an additional level of assurance that everything stays together under stress. And it looks cool.
It was those days where you'd think "What if" and actually hack it all together to try and make it work. Now it is time to push the envelope to mail. We know there's more to be had, question is, when would a crazy square sub prototype show up that will fit on a house window, moves that cone a couple inches each way and takes some motivated daredevil to find an amplifier (or make one instead) that can make the local observatories' seismic counters go jump with the beat SoloZ in the future?
There are pros and cons to multiple spiders. Adding resistance will raise the power handling, but you're going to sacrifice efficiency in trade (among other things). Making it loud is great, but not at the cost of making it sound sloppy/muddy. It's a balance we as manufacturers all have to consider when we make a sub.
@@KICKER-AUDIO yes good point, but also after awhile the spider will no be able to control the movement of the sub as good and will not sound as good. But other than that I like kicker subs
@@doitrightthefirsttime8952 the reality is that you cant please all the people all the time. Make a super high spl sub and the people that dont want to throw tons of power at it will not get the sound quality they want. Make an efficient sub and the people that want to beat it to within an inch of its life every time they get in the car will wish for something completely different. This is why we make over a dozen lines of subs, so you can match the right kind of sub with the right kind of listener.
Awesome choice in location for the vid. Love that background.
Hoping Mr. Irby makes it to SLAM this year. 50 Year Anniversary is a real big deal. 💪🏽🔥
Our front desk museum curators have a pretty awesome office to work in everyday 👌

The Solo X will have two spiders.
