    rory and tiger hit shots like this periodically, and it gives you reason to live when you witness it, even months later on youtube. You can relate to it, because we've all tried to pull of the miracle shot, but rarely do we follow it with a fist pump. it's what makes golf such a cool game.

    I hate all the debate on this video. As a skilled golfer, I can tell you that he had to hit down on that 5 wood and that he did not try to hit that hard at all. He held off his finish, (notice the open clubface) and he tried to hit a piercing shot with a lot of spin that would take advantage of the soft greens. It does not matter if you love him or hate him, nobody debating this video hits great golf shots in clutch situation like this man does.

I think the only better woods I have seen were phil at the british this year on a sunday but he did get alot of roll, and Louis Oosthuizen at the masters the year bubba won also on a Sunday. Louis also got alot of roll and double eagled that one.

    • @15bdoc
      @15bdoc 9 лет назад +2

      When you hit a fade that big, it causes the ball to almost float at the end of it's flight which, in turn, causes the ball to land softly. It's one of the biggest advantages of a well placed fade.

    • @michael_corcoran
      @michael_corcoran 9 лет назад +7

      in terms of club that's usually the yardage for a 5 wood for Tiger. How he landed so soft has ago do with a couple of factors.
      1. it was wet so when the ball was so high it stopped easier due to the conditions.
      2. the club, tiger said he was using covert woods because he could launch them higher in the air than the previous generation of woods so that helps lead it land softer.
      3. he's tiger woods.

    • @tblev97
      @tblev97 9 лет назад +4

      Yeah you can get a 5 wood to stop pretty well if you hit it like a short iron like he did here. Soft, wet greens + steep angle of attack + high fade
