Perhaps the most authentic-sounding Dixieland band in existence today. This is the music Louis Armstrong would have heard as a child.
Seriously unlikely, that comment about what Louis would have heard. In fact, virtually impossible.
I wouldn't think anyone would be playing in this style in the early nineteen hundreds.

They may look like they've just met in a bar and decided to do a jamming session. But wow! They play like they've been playing together for 50 years what talented musicians. Absolute quality!!!!!

@@patosullivan8391 No. And I don't know why. But I've asked Scotts to book them and been ignored. So I'm hoping to set up a Crowdfund to finance them coming to tour the midlands and north of England (and Wales and Scotland). (But not fucking Scotts!) The amount of pratice and rehearsal work behind this seemingly effortless playing must be fantastic. They are THE most amazing jazz group I've ever heard for making my feet tap and my heart sing. Wish me luck. I WILL get them her or die!!

Fabulous. Don't know if anyone else feels the way I do but every one of these people makes me want to watch them individually and as a whole band but I find it difficult not to be drawn to Erika, she is so fabulous singing or not. What a band they are.
A good drummer too; for which she gets no honor.

Shaye went to Juliard. You don’t go there if you are without talent. The core group is excellent and those who change in and out complement each other. Great group altogether.

Sigmund Romberg smiles...this is one of America’s most important bands today, for that is what they uniquely capture...their music is the only music that is truly American in origin...God bless Tuba Skinny.
Spencer Smith this IS a great band! However,I think bluegrass is also American original music. Even though it has influences from many countries and traditions,it was born in America:)

Vera Lynn, Nat "King" Cole and Bonnie Raitt all sung this song to great acclaim, but none of them did with the authenticity and as unaffected and genuine as Barnabus Jones. I find this to be a great rendition of a fine song.

This might be from 5 years ago but I just started listening to these guys a couple years ago. That's one good thing about the internet today It's broadcast out into the world, so other people can hear your music and maybe want to go hear more in concert

I first discovered this band when I watched them for several hours when they played on Royal Street in the French Quarter of New Orleans many years ago. They are, in my opinion, the most authentic New Orleans jazz band every. Their ensemble and solo playing equals some of the greats such as Jelly Roll Morton's Red Hot Peppers, the Louis Armstrong Hot Five and the King Oliver Band. They are also incredibly versatile and creative, especially when they play country blues e.g Blind Boy Fuller's Untrue Blues, hillbilly, e.g Jimmie Rodgers' Sweet Mama Hurry Home, Memphis Minnie's Me and My Chauffeur and this great swing contribution with Barnabus with an amazing vocal. Truly an exceptional bunch of musicians
A great OLD tune I recall from old fashioned Dances of the late 1950s when it was the penultimate dance number (last dance was always 'Goodnight Sweetheart"). Ahh, young love !
Love this rendition of an old Sigmund Romberg. I remember Jose Ferrer singing at the end of the movie "Deep in My Heart" . This version is really jazzed up,
I love Dixieland jazz, particularly this group. I was raised on dixieland and this is fine. spent much time in the crescent city.
It's the first time I've listened to your formidable band and it won't even be the last.
