- OH BOY, I was only a little late for The Evil Within 2's anniversary, huh? But (obivously) more importantly a little late for both the original Akumu and then the Classic Mode video anniversaries. Imagine I release a video on time one of these days???
ANYWAYS. Akumu 2 was a lot of fun albeit WAY easier than The Evil Within 1's version. Which I suppose is sort of what happens when abilities end up being as strong as they are, huh? Maybe Akumu/No Upgrades one of these days.

Honestly they need to have some really clever writing to make it work which doesn’t seem possible to me considering evil within 2 had a rushed story by the second half of the game.

I know a concerning amount of Evil Within lore and can unironically explain how absolutely wacky this plot is.
Basically, cores are meant to be the foundation of STEM. In order for people to actually enter STEM, the core needs to act as a sort of bridge between various personalities/people to keep things running smoothly. This can be achieved by either being a child (apparently due to their innocence) or being a psychopath (needs to be an egomaniac, mostly to not only act as a bridge but to also maintain a sense of self). A minor downside to all this is that psychopaths can influence the world itself regardless of being a core or not. With having the core in their possession allowing greater influence.
Oh and just wait: it gets even weirder. Because STEM now works wirelessly (the only requirements being that the individual is in range of a specific frequency). This also indirectly increases its potency and range, so if enough people connect to the system, MOBIUS could place the entire globe into STEM.
If there are psychological disruptions in play (for example a psychopath sneaks into STEM) then all individuals within the system are liable to getting "dominated". Or in other words, going crazy and eventually becoming Lost or Haunted. Hence why STEM when Ruvik was a core was substantially changing versus the more static world Lily was able to maintain as a core.

@anxietony yep. Jimenez activated an early wireless STEM system to try and gain favor with MOBIUS (I should also note that Walmart Gman and Jimenez came up with a plan to use fairly sane individuals to assassinate Ruvik cause he was being a pian in the ass and killing test subjects, AKA Sebastian, Kidman, and Joseph).
Anyway, the effect took a while to work it's magic, so the introduction is actually a mix of reality and the trio actually in STEM. This explains how Ruvik was able to kill police officers in the real world despite not actually having a physical body.

@@umairashraf5167In the scene where Ruvik "melts" Leslie, he erases Leslie's mind or something and replaces it with his own. So during the entire Amalgam boss fight, you're fighting a Ruvik copy. The real Ruvik is already out in Leslie's body. The lore is weird and confusing, I know. Though when the game is based on a dream world, there's not much else to expect.
6:10 ... you can actually avoid their introduction completely by exiting and going ALL THE WAY TO THE RIGHT ... and then just move on. They only spawn if you go straight ahead, but if you just move to the right all the way you can just walk away.
Getting the platinum trophy for the first Evil Within is still one of my most proudest gamer achievement.
The end scene is of the Beacon STEM, so it could be Joseph, Ruvik, or Leslie still there in the system
Doesn't the ending of the first game suggest that Ruvik escapes in Leslie's body? Also, Kidman says when you see the final photo slide that Joseph is alive, but she can't tell Sebastian anything past that. It is possible he got trapped in the original STEM after she shot him. If anything, I feel like The Evil Within 3 would bring Ruvik and Joseph back.
@@omarrivera5848 You're right about the ending, but I can't really think of who else would be in Beacon's STEM to activate it. Didn't want to leave him out and I kinda hope he returns since he was a cool villian lol
@@zacht5748 Ruvik most likely still kept working in STEM. It was his project, after all, and Mobius took it from him when they realized he was planning on using it for his own gain and not Mobius's. He probably returned to Beacon or found a way to get his stuff back now that Mobius is gone so that he can continue his research. He probably would also steal Mobius's findings to improve STEM himself.
And yes, Ruvik was a great villain. Theodore was nice, but nowhere near as good as Ruvik. He was genuinely scary with how much he could control STEM. He could have easily killed Sebastian, Kidman, and Joseph, but chose to torment them instead. Let the world decide their fate. He knew Kidman's involvement with Mobius and chose to let her dig deeper into the madness and not kill her outright because he knew she had her doubts regarding her mission and conflicting interests. If there ever is The Evil Within 3, they must bring back the madness of Ruvik into play.
I left this comment in the classic mode video of The Evil Within 2 but...
7:10 you can just stay in the middle of the ladder while you wait for the door to open. Enemies can't reach you or hit you in any way. Once the door opens they also leave the room for some reason. I didn't spend a single bullet there in my run.
The true "evil within" only occurs after the 4th coffee
I actually searched up evil within news yesterday as it's a weird series that I keep coming back to, it does so much right and I really want it to be finished, 2 was begging for a dlc.
Although it seems like Tango did hint at potentially making a third in Hi-Fi Rush so keep your fingers crossed everyone, maybe we will see a return.
Just because I love the game as well and you mentioned it not being finished as well as the dlc, I’m sure you know, but you can look up the proposed 3 dlcs they had planned for ew2 that never went into development because of the poor sales of 2. It sucks because it’s such a great game and sequel and the proposed dlcs would’ve added so much. 1 was Sykes, 2, I think was Kidman, and 3 was JOSEPH. Could you imagine?

I love this series so much. I platinum both Evil Within 1 and 2. I even bought PsychoBreak 1 and 2 and platinum those 2 as well (I wanted to play with the Japanese voice-over). The 2nd game is definitely way easier to platinum than the 1st. We need a 3rd one please!
So sad we will never get a 3rd one ever again, and if we do, it will definitely suck because the people who made this are all fired

I’m unable to finish this game on Nightmare difficulty 😭 It’s so dang hard. But I’ve enjoyed this game playing a number of times on normal and I’ve had so much fun. I thoroughly enjoy it and want a third game so badly!

@@Princeraj-ck1nz I'm not sure about PC controls. I think its Right CTRL to jump. If he doesnt jump, just use the Sprint button to sprint and he will automatically jump over a ledge. Hold Shift button when moving to sprint.

Nobody in this game reaches the level of Ruvik .
Ruvik was Unkillable and could manipulator the world endlessly even inhabitants who are apart of Moebius.
He knows everything about them Once they enter, because he has basically god to this world.
Sebastian doesn’t even defeat ruvik he only get out without extraction.
