This Achievement in Dead Space 3 is a MISERABLE Time

- Dead Space has always had some crazy difficulties for its hardest achievement, but this one REALLY takes the cake. Will I be able to one shot it like the Remake or will I choke hard? (I think we all know the answer to this)

This is possibly the most brutal playthrough of a Dead Space game I've ever done... but not so much because of the difficulty lol
I went for this achievement many many years ago. Got up to the final boss and paused the game for a bathroom break. Now you're probably thinking, there's no way this guy could've died on the easiest fight of the whole game, right? Right??? When i unpaused, the floor itself disappeared from underneath me and i fell into the abyss, ending the run at 99% completion due to a glitch. I don't think I've played the game since. Still haunts me to this day.
Dude I think that would get me to stop playing too 😭
@@Snamwiches I still believe that even through all it's flaws DS3 doesn't deserve all the hate that it gets. Some hate is understandable though 😂
Yikes I feel that.
I remember when I finally got to the giant rocket launcher section, I got blasted apart by a dead man's stray shot...
In the opposite direction
I actually got the same issue but I didn't die and just had to load the checkpoint (though, I can't remember if it was in the hardcore run or in the classic/pure survival).
Same happened to me...I eventually went back and got it but it made me stop playing for like 2 months.
Good 'ol Dead Space 3. You can really feel the EA. It's in the game.
Worst part is that they had to do this because of EA and it didn't even work, at least we got a remake last year
Single player resource micro transactions and online passes really were peak 2010s EA lmao
@@Snamwiches All that and it's still the least profitable game on the franchise, what a shame honestly, the weapon crafting looks sick
Microtransactions, shortcuts to get it out by Halloween and make it as hallow as possible
@@ABlueThing then they went "lol the game is bad why did you even do it" and nuke the studio. It's such a shame another great title was destroyed by EA.
I like how Snam just laughs at his deaths instead of raging or moaning about it.
It's a blessing for him that the deaths give him good content. He's managed to transfer that suffering into his own benefit. Honestly genius TBH
ikr, ive launched my controller into the screen for less lol. no way id try these crazy achievements. props to snam :)
I laughed like I belonged in a straightjacket when I died from a rock in stasis during climbing section for whole 5 mins.
Of all things in this game that could kill me, I died because I didn’t listen to my mate when told me it’s not the cue to climb. All my sanity was gone, and 5 more consecutive attempts. One with last boss bugging out and locking the progression, included.
Maybe it’s the Marker that makes you laugh.
Eyup, and generally speaking, more content = higher vid quality and potential views, which makes it really hard to complain about any inconveniences.@@danwilliams2551
He is the bigger man then most of us ^^, i would rage like crazy with the content he makes. I like a challenge but make it a fun challenge not tedius!
28:40 that rock death was absolutely unfair. After that, it was fair to get some help for the final instant death section.
The wall claims all
Idea for next challenge: Little Nightmares Hard to the core which requires you to beat the entire game without dying and under an hour.
Wow.
I second this. It's pretty fun.
Gawdlikematt did it if you want to see that and snam already did alien isolation permadeath nightmare no doubt he can do that with his eyes closed
honestly i thought that trophy was daunting but it only took me a few tries to beat it. super fun game though
Immeasurably down to do that this year
This game is actually surprisingly fun on co-op. They focused way too much on that aspect of this game and lost a lot of the horror element. The co-op, though, is the one redeeming aspect of this game and is fun to go back to occasionally and play.
This is true, it’s honestly the same with RE6 too haha
Now if only the co-op was also couch co op
It can be fun in coop but the biggest problem are the constant Elevator loading screens. Sometimes it feels like you are more in elevators than out there killing Necros. It's a shame because the weapon crafting is actually really cool but how it was done and even monetized was just...ooofff
Everything is fun with friends.
@@alastor8091 That's true, we even made the loading elevators fun by just stompdancing in circles after a while
Definitely a game of all time
Real
it would have been received much better had it been under a different name I think
overused comment
@@danwilliams2551how lol! It’s as much dead space as the others.
Out of all the dead spaces this achievement is by far the hardest one to get. My friend is a die hard fan of the series and still has not been able to get it after 7 years😂
Classic mode was harder for me until I got the force gun, for hardcore I used chain lighting gun combined with force gun and machine gun with rochet launcher for bosses was easy mode. Died once during one of the stupid flying sections.
I knew someone who got all the hard mode achievements and got the remake hardmode done within a week of game released to my surprised.
@@donnyb2343
Classic allows you to use DLC guns
@@ladylunaginaofgames40that’s what I did not to brag but I pretty much got every achievement for the game in three play thoughts it was a blast and I loved it
You gotta beat pure survival mode for those sweet resources first. Makes Hardcore mode actually bearable
Your ability to smile through the pain is what makes you the goat achievement hunter
I remember when I played this a few years ago with my friend I fell in love with the telemetry spike chain gun. As long as you have ammo it just feels like running around gunning down necromorphs with a minigun. Think I also had a force gun lower so nothing could get close to me which was handy. It's so absurd and I love it. Later half of the game just felt like we were doom slayers riping and tearing.
Its just a great comparison
The chain gun/force gun combo will carry you no matter the difficulty. It’s good cause it works to mid and bit more range if your burst it. Paired with the force gun to push enemies back that get a little to close it’s great. I love the thing, also just for an attachment to add to it, I’d put either the fire or acid bath just to give it that little more damage. Also you can get this gun pretty early in the game, you can make it as early as chapter 3/4 if you grab the chain gun part first before you get into the ship at the start of chapter 3. Then just take apart your plasma cutter at the start to make it.
My personal favourite was a shotgun with acid rounds and a melee booster as a lower tool, along with a plasma cutter flamethrower combo. Carried me through the game with ease. Loved that combo man lol
Snam is the only person I've ever seen that can smile and laugh after losing a 10 hour permadeath run, genuinely insperational. Keep up the good work man 👍
Dead Space 3, where the hardest challenge is not the hardest mode, but not dying from boredom
You say that but I've honestly had the most fun playing Dead Space 3 out of the first one or the second one.
@@chancedavis6216 Are you more of shooter or Survival horror fan? Cause if you're a shooter fan then maybe, but it's not the same as the other two
Dead space 3 gets really fun when you’ve created 2 of the most op guns that could probably kill the boss from the first game in 3 seconds flat, it’s a massive power trip honestly, however it’s not even close to dead space anymore, it’s barely a survival horror because it’s impossible to run out of ammo I swear.
It's really fun with a friend
Youre just making shit up now, the story of this game is the worst I've ever seen but the gunplay is absolutely not boring
It's not that the achievement is hard that makes it miserable. It's that he's playing dead space 3.
Ngl I started coming round to the game a bit after not playing it for 10 years… then I had to play it 6 more times in a row lol
the games really not that bad granted its not the best out of the main trilogy but i still really enjoyed it.
@@thepurenewb1584 The story and the forced shooting sections really, REALLY drag it down. You can't call DS3 a horror game with a straight face like you can with the other two.
@@troggdorthesecond i wouldnt class the third as a horror no deffo more on survival shooter but even then survival is a stretch lol, but i still enjoyed it and still enjoyed the shooting sections, i do understand why some dont though
I mean yea, it ain't a horror game, just more of an action game with a bit of horror. The first one was genuinely spooky, the second was more like an "alright, shit's fucked but I've got an idea how to survive", and the third's just "we're going out of our way to end this for good" sorta deal. That's just simply the nature of horror games in general, is that the sequels are almost always not nearly as scary.@@troggdorthesecond
The tragedy for me with dead space 3 is throughout the hours and hours of slog it has moments that are full dead space and makes me sad for what could have been man. Good job once again putting yourself through it dude!
Snammy, you did it! Congratulations for surviving DS3!
He should try to do the same thing but with DS3 (dark souls 3)
He should try to do the same thing but with DS3 (dark souls 3)
you survived a mediocre game, the horror.
Sometimes achievements are only hard due to the game not being good. I don't know how many more people could've gotten this acievement if DS3 wasn't a slog to get through, but I'd imagine this could have a higher percentage regardless.
No it's not because DS3 is bad it's because DS3 is pretty jank and because instant kills are extremely common in dead space.
@@CowKirbo DS3 is bad, and that definitely contributes to this achievement being rarer than it otherwise would be
You were doing so well on the first attempt that I forgot that it was a no death challenge
I wanted to first try it so bad 😭
Coop is very recommended for this game because it adds a lot about the characters and the overall enjoyment
I wish we saw more of they attempted - different viewing experiences based on the players and player centric hallucinations
I love every video dude.the fact that you can laugh at dying after 8 hours is awesome
How do you beat every game you play? Having a chat chugging you along has got to help by tons lmfao. This guy is a LEGEND! But the fact that you just take a game and then beat a challenge that people been struggling with forever is crazy.
Great editing, keep the content entertaining through all 40 minutes, quality ass gameplay. All around, you deserve a round of applause. Very underrated, keep it up sir. GREAT. WORK! (on all your work!)
Snam i dont know how you dare. Balancing RUclips, streaming, a full time job, a relationship and trying to maintain a social life, and you have the gall to release a 30 min video every 3 weeks? Despicable😊
0:22 me when the McDonalds Icecream machine isnt working
Love seeing the steady rise of snam. Hope he gets the recognition he deserves!
You described it very well. I love permadeath runs because while it's upsetting to have to restart, knowing that you get better and learn more with every single playthrough you go through really gives you a sense of satisfaction.
I just recently was able to play Dead Space 1, 2, and 3 again and after beating 1's hardest difficulty and Hard to the Core for the first time, I felt ready for 3. I was so wrong. Couldn't even get past the Rosetta section without dying. Congrats Snam
Flaws and all, I still love Dead Space 3. Especially with Awakened at the very end. Satisfying and horrifying pay-offs to series mysteries, I adore it.
Really could’ve done without the Norton subplot… and character in general. That brings it down. The game’s heavily underrated imo.
This was absolutely insane.! Great job Snam.! It was great to be a part of the journey..
I'm going to make a prediction. The rock climbing... I got a bad feeling about that.
I watch maybe 5-10 channels on here pretty regularly. Saw your video and chose to watch this over them all lol. Your content is so basic in concept but executed so well in practice. You also have an amazing sense of humor and seem like you would be great to play with. Cheers buddy. Keep it up.
You should try doing fear and hunger! I think you’ll enjoy it.
A little tip. In these games every time you reload certain guns, you throw away the rest of the clip. It doesn’t go back into your reserves like most shooters.
After playing the game for over a year and completely imprinting everything in my memory about it I gave this achievement a shot because I simply had nothing more to do on it.
Died once to the fan and about 5 times toward the end when you're flying through the debris but then I finally managed it. It took me about a week on my old 360 but it wasn't that big of a deal honestly, mainly because enemies aren't strong enough to match up against DS3 broken weapons so I literally had to watch out for obstacles only 😂
It's been a decade since this happened, so thanks for the nostalgia shot.
That sounds about right, it’s really the insta kill stuff that’s the worst. Especially since it can just wipe out 6 hours of progress with no warning haha
@@Snamwiches yeah I struggled with the final chapter's flying debris part, for some reason my mind could easily keep track of every single rocket launcher wielding enemy but not some rock pattern.
Dying to a debris field 20 minutes away from being done 5 times was PAINFUL. 2 weeks of sweaty nerding thrown in the bin but I go it in the end and it was joyful. I don't think I launched DS3 ever since 👀
There are ways to make it easier with save backups and it's not such a miserable time with a friend in coop which is how I got it back in the day.
I guess he didn't want to save scum, and no gamer has friends (less ones that would play this game specifically)
@@ABlueThing Then those aren't really friends then, for true friends should always share in ones misery.
@@Sevent77 You do make a good point
all i can remember about this achievement is the fact that all i ever used was the plasma cutter and the force gun, mainly to deal with small enemies and i managed to do it first time, it was tame compared to impossible but it was still stressful, also, circuits are your best friend in 3.
I know a lot of people shit on this game (which is valid) but I personally had a ton of fun playing this back on the 360 days, definitely better in co-op though
Glad to see you back!
God, I laughed my arse off at that rock part. Sorry that you lost there, though. Still, love the playthrough!
I feel like this channel is one of the only achievement hunting channels I can watch without getting tired of it
Check out Morgan's basement
This is a man of sheer commitment. Or crazy, depending on how you see it 😂
I gotta say this because I'm still kinda mad about it.
So that boss that eats you at the end of the fight took me at least 5 full attempts because I DIDN'T KNOW YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO GET EATEN! I thought it was an instant kill and I had to avoid it so I reloaded checkpoint at least like 6 times just because I thought I had died!
What id like to see you try is Dead Space Remake on Impossible while also doing plasma cutter only. Now that. That was a fun challenge
No wonder the Sovereign Colonies lost the war, their ships are Bobby trapped for themselves, 50% of casualties were janitors and/or engineers stepping on those gravity lifters
Coconut Mall music and Dead Space was a mashup I never knew I needed.
Got my Dead Space 3 platinum last year. After the second playthrough, the game became fun. The one shot sniper was my favorite weapon.
Imagine trying to do this coop
Depends, does co-op immediately kill you if one dies, or does it let you resurrect someone?
Because if it's the ladder, that'd probably make this easier.
Cause double the op guns
@tsyumamatsuthehavenofguar 37:45 double the enemies too
bro, i had so much fun in this achievment, i see we labeled similar sections as high chance run killers. I thought my big run killers would be chasing the cube, inside the nexus, and the ice walls. Love the vid man
I'll be honest the fact Dead Space remake wasn't even being mentioned for GOTY is an insult to gamers everywhere, that's probably the best horror game that's ever came out, period.
remakes/remasters should be barred from most awards
@@superubergoober you're a clown
@@superubergooberwith the amount of remasters, there should be a best remake award and that’s what they would deserve. They really shouldn’t be mentioned on the same page as games built from the ground
This game felt like reverse survival horror with how over-powered those guns can get -- 😨Until you hear Exploders do that "NYAAH" like the start of the Lion King, and you know Mr. One Shot is running at you
WHY NO DEATH COUNTER????????😢😢😢😡😡😡😡
Don't know why I've found myself watching a guy I have never seen before, playing games I'll likely not get around to. Doing the hard runs, but without the ego attached. I'm on my sixth or so video, I like the vibe, not all rage inducing, controller smashing. More, aww crap...again!
I’ve done all the achievements on every Dead Space game. One of my favorite series! I think I’m like one of 2 total people I’ve ever seen who liked DS3 lol.
My friend and I are on our second run-through on getting all the trophies. We both pltainumed on PS3, currently working on PC
Also, I'm pretty sure I did it w/ the plasma cutter. My buddy used one weapon that came w/ the Witness pack. On pc I've been using the same weapon to make my life easier.
That one of the things I missed in the dead space franchise that it could use some human enemies, like those who were so psychotic they just wanna shoot you on sight.
tommy tallarico spent 5 years hand in hand with Michael Jackson to craft the soundtrack for this game. His mother is very proud
Love the dragon xemnas music from kh2 for the ice wall sequence.
Lol the end walkthrough peek is absolutely what I would have done if I had gotten to that point! Great job Snam!
Hey Snam, I don't know if you take requests, but there's a horror game that I saw back in 2020 that didn't get much coverage after it was fully released and I definitely haven't seen anyone 100% it. It's called VISAGE. A psychological horror game, created by a small studio of a dozen or so friends that just wanted to create a dope new horror game. It definitely gives off silent hill/P.T. vibes. It has amazing visuals, phenomenal sound, and one of the best atmosphere's in a horror game I've ever experienced. It would be dope to see someone 100% it. I'll tell you now though, It's more of a collecti-thon than anything. Still an experience to be enjoyed non-the-less. and I know that that would pop off. "100% the world's scariest game" That is a CLICKER. Anyways, even if you don't. I still appreciate the consideration. If you're wandering what the game looks like you can look up Markipliers stream of the Early Access Version, Which was still phenomenal and mark and his fans made the stream Absolutely Hilarious. We will never forget "BEER" 2020. Much Love, Peace Out!
B.T.W. There's No Difficulty Setting
god I hated that wall, some of the most RANDOM ways to die from things you had no control over
Just started playing dead space 3 in coop with my friend, it's amazing... No, seriously it's so much fun having a buddy around, BUT i tried it alone and it's clearly built for coop in mind, too much enemies, too fast and i can't stand the crafting system and weapon system... Give it a shot if you are a diehard dead space fan like me (just bought an Isaac Clarke statue yesterday) and you have another diehard ds fan friend too (bro just watched hours of ds lore videos lmao)
The best gun for dead space 3 its a force projector field iirc, its 1 shot for most of the enemies, and you get also the shotgun that makes every near-enemy to be tossed (its literally max damage)
When the ice wall ended the run, apparently Issac was playing by soccer rules. the tiniest whiff of a graze means death
Finally, an achievement hunter who doesn’t just quit the game forever when it gets difficult. Nice job
You popped up on my recommended with your Outlast Energiser achievement video - I was looking for something to watch while I clean the kitchen quickly before bed. Anyway… 5 videos later, the kitchen is not clean, it’s 3:30AM and I’ve had to subscribe and go to bed 😂
I love the structure of your content, and your editing style, it’s kept me engaged for literal hours 😅
Thank you! Hopefully you get the cleaning done in the morning though lol
I give you props my man. I love the entire franchise of dead space. Co-op for DS3 is actually really enjoyable and I believe the DLC is actually the canon ending to the game. Both are better played in co-op of course. Plus all the side quests that are opened up for co-op are fun too.
Yay a snam upload!! You quickly became one of my favorite RUclipsrs last year found you around April can’t wait to see what this year holds
I was able to do this in one playthrough but I have had many hours into it. Plus studying this before.
There's the obvious insta deaths to worry about but it is possible to cheese your way through the combat.
By the time you get out into Space in the middle of Chapter 4, you have all the tools necessary to break the combat.
So, after getting access to the Sk1P, go to the Brosluv. We are going to go to a floating broken part of a ship with a 6 or 9 on it. You can see it when you get out of the SK1P. There's a nest on the way there, so evade it or kill it.
There's windows around it, shoot it out and there's a Precision Tip. This will be the Tip necessary to break the games difficulty. Then, going to the side mission Rossilov, you can find a +1 Damage circuit and materials to make another.
Find yourself a bench and first dismantle the SMG. You want the Military Engine. Slap that onto a Heavy Frame with the Precision Tip. This creates the Seeker Rifle. With +2 Damage in upgrades, it will one shot EVERY NON BOSS/ENHANCED Necromorph in the game.
Dismantle the Plasma Cutter and place the Plasma Core on the bottom tool with no Tip and you get a Force Gun.
Slap an Ammo Box that let's you skip every other reload, and you've got a gun that will last you til like, chapter 13. Then, when you find +2 damage and ROF, replace the Military Engine with a Plasma Core and you have a Contact Beam.
Then your second tool can focus on a Machine like tool, for when bullets matter more than damage, with an explosive, with the attachment that protects yourself from self harm, and you're set for combat.
All in all, it's easy to break the combat. Then it just relies on map knowledge and what kind of combat encounters you are gonna have to deal with.
I'd not recommend this unless you're studied up and think you can achieve this easily. Failure leads to losing upwards of 10 hours, unlike DS2s Hardcore which can lose you only about 2 hours.
This was a fun watch! I love this game and it was fun to re-experience the game through your misery of unlocking the achievement. 😂 Good job!
I’m glad you liked it!
The fact that nobody told you rockets can be grabbed and thrown back with kinesis is a crime. Makes rocket enemies trivial
Props for not backing up saves and using the devil horns.
It weird that the hardest thing in hardcore Dead Space 3 is not the enemies but the ton of instakill the game throws at you.
I've completed all 3 Dead Space games on Hardcore and tbh...theres an easy way to do it on DS3...play it on Classic Mode first..unlock Devil Horns...play NG+ and set it to Hardcore...boom...once you get to the first work bench you can collect Devil Horns and play through the whole game with them...and you still get the achievement..took me roughly 6 hours or so just blasting everything
That one Necromorph was smart got shot by the Unitologist Soldiers and said "I'm gonna go stab the guy who ain't shooting me"
I found Aren't you thankful? to be an easy achievement, I was extra cautious, had dlc guns, and had like 7 playthroughs finished, plus had a 100% save file where I did everything and remembered where everything was
also I never died once
You should Black Border every map in btd6 (beat all of them on all difficulties). I did this a while back I had so much fun doing it.
Ahhhh Dead Space 3. The bane of my existence along with Other M.
This guy is one of those people you know you'd like as a friend! Smart and funny I always look forward to his videos! He's the only channel I have notifications for 🖖
The spongebob "my leg" sound bite killed me☠️☠️
My go-to weapon in this game is a Rocket Launcher with an under-barrel Seeker Rifle, works on everything.
I see the ice wall graduated with honors from the Plesioth's hip check school of hitboxes.
Damn you that joke referencing Wemby at 23:10 was brilliant! Well done!
An Idea for a challenge: Playing nightmare on Alan Wake Xbox 360 version. Without focusing the flash light. (Don’t worry I have already tested it is indeed possible find the hidden boxes, follow the yellow arrows until you come upon a torch symbol).
if im not mistaken, you can actually grab the rockets with kinesis and send it back, i completed this cursed hardcore mode by pure luck and kinesis spam. Just for the record, the best weapon in the game its the Kinesis as you can save your ammo and use necromorphs's body parts as javelins that deals lots of damage.
Shame with the first death, but pleasently surprised to hear "Wind Dragon's Tears" accompany it.
This is a really fun game, I am going to try this on single player with all the side missions (including disposal services, a really bad run ender if you're not careful).
So basically your "best weapon in the game" is a sevirely nerfed down Evangelizer carbine, which is the best weapon in the game until you unlock the Horns. Cool.
I honestly have the biggest respect for this youtuber for trying his hardest on hours without end and not getting mad when they die.😮
The weapons I always used is pulse rifle top and force gun bottom with fire mod. Just a great weapon overall for necromorphs but you will use quite a lot of ammo. The second gun I run is seeker rifle top with shotgun bottom with stasis mod, this is for humans mostly as a point and shoot and for big aliens. Stasis mod doesn't really do anything on single shot weapons but nothing's more satisfying than watching enemies split apart in slow motion, in that sense it's also a quick indicator that the enemy died. The shotgun bottom is for humans that gets up close real quick, one shot to the legs and they're done.
Handcannon revolver with underslung flamethrower with an electric round attachment and some damage, magazine and rate of fire mods. Is the best weapon in the game. All necros are weak to fire as a tribute to the thing. The electric attachment electrifies rounds and the flamethrower which causes any enemy it touches to stop. The smaller flamethrower is more efficient than the big one for some reason. For hectic battles assault rifle with underslung shot gun with electric attachment and some damage, magazine and relode parks will do well.
Thank you for doing the challenge. I laughed my ass off because it took me two runs, and I died in the same place as you with the Rocket Man.
Respect the speed star going off at 27:00
That section outside of the silo is horrific died twice there
I will say, that Dead Space 3 Solo is definitely... a game. The Coop tho, now that's a banger, the stupid combos and shit me and my friend were doing and figuring out were absolute gold.
I’m so happy I wasn’t the only one who thought the antagonist of Dead Space 3 was Elton John.
A San Antonio 4 is the truest statement you've ever made. lol
Congrats, dude. One thing I would've suggested to make hardcore easier would've been to get the Intimid8r first, and then focus on getting the Pitch Black. The former is just as powerful, but also is much more accurate, making it great for mid to long-range combat. Its shotgun is also good in case an enemy gets too close. It's just easier than trying to rely on a plasma cutter for range.
the secret to a ds3 one and done.
You need to play with a friend, the first couple co op sidequests give you tasty treats for what ever stupid your into
Fun fact: Isaac and Norton BOTH doomed not just humanity, but any other intelligent life that might one day exist in the universe, for a single woman.
"Thrown myself off a cliff... in Minecraft" Nice save Snam
For anyone attempting this and is afraid of the rocket boiz:
-you can kinesis the rockets
-craft a seeker rifle with a few dmg upgrades and 1 shot snipe them
Oh God. Beginning of the video and was reminded how many fucking times I died from insta kills when I played it. You’re a masochist, Snam.
I forgot how they “enhanced” Ellie’s “appearance” in DS3. You can tell this was pre-Gamergate. This was back in the Mountain Dew-Doritos era of gaming when every protagonist was a buff dude with a gruff voice and steroid physique. What’s crazy is that this only happened when triple A gaming became completely corporatized. Not that these types of games hadn’t happened before but they started “dude-ifying” every game they could. I can imagine that most of the conversation in board room meetings were just, “less story, more tits. Don’t forget to make that Doritos billboard assest 3-times larger..”
