Great people, good food, awesome beaches. Location is everything. We're 2.5h from New Orleans, 1h from Biloxi casinos, 1h from Pensacola, 5h from Atlanta and 7h to Orlando. Best of all the worlds

Research the different surrounding areas( Suburbs, Rural, Coastal, City and Adjacent Cities and Communities) to see what area suits You and Your family best. It is a very Family Oriented, Down to Earth part of the Country. I grew up here but have lived many other places. Am always happy to com back home and be a part of this wonderful Special Place. I was just here. We drove up from lauderdale to check out the Pan Handle. I am originally from Boston so I actually never been to the south. I always have been fascinated with Alabama. So the wife and I took a hour and 3 min ride and spent the day in Mobile. One of the best cities I have been to. Just a gem. The houses and the streets. Washington Park was beautiful. Everyone was so nice. You need to go see this city. So much history. I want to go to mardis gras there. Being from the north we only hear the wrong about the the south. The south is amazing! Love it. We are actually thinking about moving to Pensacola. I will frequently be in Bama. My next stop is Mississippi.
Great video! I love that you didn't shy away from the empty storefronts. Many people would try to show only the best of a city, but you showed it exactly like it is. I appreciate that. But what really clinched my decision to subscribe to your channel is that you are the first travel channel I've seen who knows how to properly mix the music levels. The music was not overpowering. I just drove through the rt 65/10 interchange to deliver a trailer to Louisiana. Never been south of North Carolina before this and I usually don't leave south central Pennsylvania. It's warmer! I have sworn one day I'd move to either Florida or Arizona because I can't stand snow ice and cold, but I wanna check this and the Gulf coast area out

I took my friend from Miami last year and she loves Mobile n Festivities that she is coming back next month.Gotta make popular restaurant reservations 2 to 3 weeks in advance of Mardi Gras. Best Seafood Ever in Mobile AL n causeway. Some People who live in Mobile Don’t appreciate what Mobile has to offer. People everywhere are like that. For instance some people lived all their life their n never visited Bellingrath Garden which is awesome especially during spring and they even had Christmas lights - the best I’ve ever been too . Even the yearly Nutrcracker Ballet performance is to die for. I get mad when people say my dads hometown is country n backwards but it could be further from the truth. They have so many performing art venues like plays, ballets, jazz, classical, blues, museums, etc. also if you love nature, you’ve got that too in Mobile. I love the 3 delta river prerervation/ center too.I’m never bored when I go to Mobile AL. It’s also so close to Pensacola beach, Gulf shores beach, New Orleans, Biloxi Mississippi Casinos.

As a native Mobilian, I think your timing was off- obviously, Mardi Gras was missed- but end of January-February 2022 will be AMAZING! You were correct on Mobile being in a "time warp"...we are literally stuck between the "Old South" & the "New South". We're working on it...come back again in a few years.

I been in the Mobile area almost a year now and finally ate at Wintzell's. I had a dozen oysters, that Low Country Boil with cajun rice, my mother had the oyster basket and came with fried okra, fries and hush puppies. I found my new favorite seafood restaurant. A little pricey but damn worth it!
@@michaelh7527 I have tried the Bluegill and the service was on point, the food not so much, could have been an off day. Felix is awesome but may have to wait up to 45 minutes for a table. The Oyster House is good. I wonder if Ed's will come back! Not sure how Ralph & Kacoos is still in business. Over all I believe Felix is the best on the Causeway and it is always packed.
I love Mobile very friendly and always have a wonderful time there. I do live across the causeway but prefer mobile because its just a great place to shop and visit

I get he means though people sorta mind their own business which is nice honestly. I live in a small midwest town of maybe 25k people, where gossip and everyone elses life is always up for discussion. I used to live in a slightly bigger town maybe half the size of Mobile that was a similar way. Perfectly nice and safe town. There were a few areas you tended to not go, but you had no need to go there and as long as you minded your own business and lived your life without obstructing another's life you were all good. It gets so exhausting hearing everyone in your town's life story every time anyone opens their mouth.
