    Nice video. Too nice and almost misleading when viewed by a real local. Selling Mobile is a good thing. However, a train moving through a building is obviously not a real con unless you just happen to be there at the wrong time at which very few locals would even be there anyway. All of the footage you have in this video depicts clean and nice backdrops that would only be seen if carefully chosen with the correct camera angle. Showing places and the condition of such where people actually have available and access to would be great. Here are a few. Mobile Municipal Park, Chickasobo Park, the Causeway, Mobile Flea Market, Big Creek Lake (Access if any are public), Golf courses, Creighton, Bel Air Mall inside with people, Fairgrounds, with people, Mobile Municipal Auditorium with people, Dauphin Island Fishing Pier & beach access. I would suggest doing a consistent drive around in the business areas and typical neighborhoods consistent with the average family income in Mobile. And then one with the above average income, and another below the average A drive through to see what most people that travel most areas of the city and county are actually seeing daily is what people want. Mixing the cherry pic backgrounds with reality seems to be more appealing. Mobile is Mobile. It has real Pros and real Cons.

    • @livinginmobile
      @livinginmobile  2 года назад

      From everything I've heard, there are no issues with ride services. With regard to rent though, it would be difficult for you to find a property that will allow you to rent for less than six months. It's not impossible, but would be tough.
      As for pricing, rental prices are pretty high right now because of the lack of inventory. Most landlords are cashing in on their equity so there are fewer rental properties available at a reasonable monthly rate.

    I lived in mobile from 2008-2012 at turtle creek apartments and it was complete dump honestly. Between the crack heads and all the stuff I got stolen it just wore me out. It was also a culture shock to see how segregated the south still is and how you can drive over the I-10 bay bridge to Fairhope and Daphne it is like driving to a third world county to a first world country. The constant cheering for Alabama football was super annoying as thats all the residents had to cheer for no NFL, MLB, NBA for miles. It wasn't all bad but theres no way I would ever move back being a Texan.

      It could have been worse. I have to put up with people cheering for Auburn.

      Texas isn't no way better unless you live on the coast. But it's bad everywhere you go. It's not the 80s & 90s anymore in mobile.

      That is not true. There were some very inaccurate statistics that came out a few months ago, but if you’re comparing apples to apples, that is not true.

      Crime is at its lowest point than it has ever been in its history, property crime has fallen 50% in the last few years, property crime is now the same as Fairhope.
      Mobile is also getting at least 25,000 new jobs over the next 4 or so years

      I’ve been to 49 states and over 1000 cities in the United States, and I can tell you, I think it is beautiful. It all depends on what you are looking for. Is it prettier than San Francisco Bay, no, but you can’t find Oak tree covered streets with beautiful homes from the 1800s like you can in downtown Mobile.
