Daiquiri shop cigar lounge, Cooper riverside park ,cruise terminal. Exploreum, New water front apartments on water street, convention center, civic center, Fort conde , the Mardi gras museum, alot lol
This just happened to me the other day. I was talking to my wife about furniture, and suddenly a furniture ad popped up. It’s crazy! Welcome to Mobile!!
City Of Mobile - Mr. Wawback ,,,, This blues song is about a Mobilian, that love his Wife,,, City,,, and Gulf Coast fishing. Check it out on youtube... Maybe we can remix and re-master the song in a professional studio...
In the sixties my family lived in Decatur Al , but my brother went to USA , so when we would go to see him we would stay at the Battle House , such a beautiful lobby and Hotel , Think its funny you called the Admiral Semmes hotel the Admiral
I was married at the 1st Baptist church on Government. My two favorite park is Cathedral sq. and Cooper riverside park. I went in the Battle house hotel and took pictures right after it was renovated. It is a beautiful and historic hotel. @ 13:40 you are standing almost on the same exact spot where I took a picture of my daughter during mardi gras from a few years ago. BTW I was raised in and around Detroit but my ex wife is from Mobile and introduced me to it. Very beautiful, historic, and enchanting place. BTW Mobile has the oldest highrise in the southeast which is the Van Antwerp hotel. on Royal street. My favorite skyscraper btw is the historic 1920's artdeco Merchants bank bldg. kitty corner from Beinville sq. BTW my home town of Detroit has two tunnels to Canada, one vehicular and one railroad. By coincidence I think both Detroit and Mobile are two of just five cities in America with under water tunnels. My daughter btw had a scool field trip to Fort Conde and yes, that cathedral gives tours. I just had to plug Hamtramck Michigan which is an enclave of Detroit for its beignet's since you brought it up :)
Not sure why grand central got mentioned it has been closed for 10+ years, they may use it for mardi gras but I haven't seen it used for anything including mardi gras in at least 10 years
THANK THE LORD HE GOT MY FAMILY AND I OUT OF THERE IN 1994 TO BEAUTIFUL MONTANA. WE DON'T MISS MOBILE AT ALL........ONLY THE MEMORIES OF HOW LIFE USED TO BE DOWN THERE MANY YEARS AGO WHEN I WAS GROWING UP IN SATSUMA, AL. KALISPELL, MT. 6/7/21
Does the Bienville Club still exist? I remember eating there in the rotating restaurant when I was a kid. I think it was at the top of the tallest building at the time.
Great video, but I was surprised you didn't include the Cooper Riverside Park along the Waterfront, the Spanish Plaza Park, or some of the older Churches and historic buildings. Maybe you can do a follow up video on Downtown Mobile in the near future.
Hola He visitado ese lugar 1 vez y en los próximos días estaré por segunda vez. Quiero buscar lugares bonitos para una tarde en familia. Saludos desde Miami.
This is what Google translate told me: Hello I have visited that place 1 time and in the next few days I will be there for the second time. I want to find beautiful places for a family afternoon. Greetings from miami. ------- So, I would definitely recommend going to Bienville Square, and that will give you many options. So many things to do around that area and other places within walking distance.
My family lives in Mobile Alabama I live off of College Hill Road and I live in Washington state my dad’s getting old though he wants to sell the house
I walked through the building last week, and I’m sad to say, it was empty. Hopefully something great will come back. I really hate to see that place go.
I'm considering moving here. My mom grew up in Panama City (not too far from here). The beaches actually look a hell of a lot cleaner than the nasty ones I surfed at all along the California coast. California is too restrictive on small businesses and is a liberal hellhole.
I feel ya! Yeah, hopefully things will all get back to somewhat normal soon. I LOVE riding a scooter down there, so I know a bike would be even better!
Too crowded and traffic is horrible …. And y’all are killing tons of trees in the outer areas of Mobile Al for housing developments. Buying farming land and old homestead properties . It is sad to see the over crowding happening and the country life turning into over populated sub divisions
Rascism is everywhere in different degrees, shape and form. Some cities are more diverse but it’s still there and then you have different ethnic/ minorities against other minorities. It’s the world we live in unfortunately. Try to make things right, try to live right, and try to live to the fullest with the one life you are given. People also have the POWER of choice. Also have the choice to believe in GOD. People should help other people to improve their lot in life n make them aware of opportunities to make a better life. A lot of People in America that are poor do not untilize many available tools n opportunities out their and it may not be their fault because there are other issues involved. Sometimes some choices n steps in life lead to bigger n better things and sometimes people can’t blame all their problems on rascism. People have to take some accountability for their life. My African American grandmother raised 8 children alone after my grandfather died at a young age in Mobile AL and Bless her soul for all her children got out of poverty. They were poor but they didn’t have a poor quality of life and didnt wait on the government to help them get out of poverty. This whole country has a growing gap between the poor and rich. The middle class struggles and seems like everyone’s purposes is to serve the rich especially states that are tourists n retirement states like FLorida.I’ve got ancestors from Mobile both white n black so I’m gonna come back as much time as I want regardless. It’s my right and in my blood. People look at me like I don’t belong cuz I’m mixed n look out of place but this lady ain’t goin anywhere. I’m proud of my heritage.I’m sure someone reaped the benefits of my ancestors bonded into slavery and their family is living in an antebellum home off government street. Enuf said. Mobile could do better, the crimes could be fewer, more black people should improve their lot. The EDUCATION system is a place that can make or break young people. Fl had some good technical high schools where kids learn a skill and get a job right out of hiighschool. Enuf said. I’m sure I will get some negative comments.also there are some black people in Mobile that are working to try to improve the black community. They also could have gotten a black mayor if they didn’t have 2 black candidates running at the same time and Mayor Stimpson.Politics is where the REAL Power is.
You should look into the racial demographic of mobile if you want to know more about with the racial make up is of our city. Mobile Alabama is very diverse.
You would not catch me downtown. Scary. Would definitely not be on a bike. I have lived here my whole life. Schools are not that great anymore. Like everywhere else be careful out by yourself. Sorry to say that. This guys job is to make it sound great. It’s boring here. My son moved to Texas. He says there is a lot there to do and see. Skip Mobile.
Ummmm these Alabama people have no idea. Lol. Mobile is tiny. Come to Nashville or ATL. I read a comment about bad traffic in mobile 😂😂😂😂 Hilarious. P.S. Boston has tunnels all over its downtown core. As cute as you are, you gotta get out more. Lol

I’m definitely not taking it for granted
I like how I'm moving down there soon and this just randomly pops up 😅

My grandfather helped build the old tunnel bridge when he was alive he used to be to work for that
He can see a peeble, and make it the most incredible rock ever. lol

It's nice seeing mobile my mom worked as a security guard and she worked at the fort, convention center and sometimes at the museum.
I’m looking forward to doing more videos about the fort. I think it would be a great way to allow people to have an inside look.
I love that there are so many people commenting that are in my home town

T.p. Crockmiers is great, the food is awesome and fries are unbelievably great, go check it out if you can!
I’ve only attended a group function there, I’ve never had dinner. It’s definitely on my list. Thank you!

It’s now the restaurant I referenced called Dauphins

Any restaurants that sell fried gator tail food ?
I’m pretty sure the answer to that is yes, I’ll need to find out who.
