    Do you have to relocate the shocks with eibach lowering springs? Eibach claims their springs work with factory suspension.

  • @garbagemann9167
    @garbagemann9167 3 года назад +1

    Did you have to mess with your drivers side E brake cable wrapping around the shock?

    • @kenmedina7762
      @kenmedina7762  3 года назад

      No, it doesn’t get in the way. Yet without the DJM lower control relocation bracket the arm did bottom out and smash the cable. After I installed the bracket the geometry was set back and free travel was restored eliminating bottoming out and no longer smashing the e brake cable.

    When you put those end links on did you have to move the d clamps that hold the sway bar over a 1in to get the end links installed

    • @kenmedina7762
      @kenmedina7762  7 лет назад +1

      Jason Mosher only the driver side, you drill a hole towards the front and use a factory hole on the back. Easy and straight forward. Use the supplied bolt, washers, and nut to secure. The passenger side remains in the factory position as the bar just slides over to the passenger side.

  • @GuNNeR2SicK
    @GuNNeR2SicK 4 года назад +1

    Do you have to cut new holes for the swaybar mounts to move it a little to the passenger or do you just slide the swaybar a lil to the passenger side. I’m planning on getting this kit.

    • @kenmedina7762
      @kenmedina7762  4 года назад +1

      GuNNeR hey there, awesome kit. As far as relocating the sway bar the driver’s side mounting bracket does need to be relocated. I reused a factory hole that is already existing on the plate located on the rear axle, where the pan hard rod mounts, then I drilled one new hole. It’s not hard to install but the benefits are tremendous. Especially after the diablo i3 programming, the shifts are firmer and I’ve removed the speed limiter, this thing is rock solid on the shifts and at higher speeds very confident, again not race car but sporty enough to make a noticeable improved difference

    I have those end links but chose not to use them. I did not want to rub a hole in my shock. I also did not want to drill another hole in the mounting surface for the sway bar. I used end links from Hellwig (pn:7960) that are adjustable.

      Post a video, I’d like to see. I used the 2000-2006 shorter end links at first, but these are beefier and could feel the rear ending tighten up and ride better. Drilling wasn’t a big deal, but I hear you. As far as the shock clearance I used washers to increase the spacing and no contact.

      Thanks for posting, I like it. There’s more than one way to skin a cat.
      I noticed did you fabricate that square stock to relocate the sway bar lower?
      Without that the sway bar would strike the panhard bar mounting bracket on the passenger side. That’s the issue I had with the 2000-2006 short end links.
      Also what shocks are you running as I see there are no shock extensions, or lower control arm extensions. I used to bottom out and the parking brake cable was getting smashed between the frame and lower control arms.
      Once I installed this djm kit all the geometry was realigned and all together rides stiffer and has a tighter sport ride.
      Also did you install the spohn front end adjustable sway bar endlinks? Those are worth their weight in gold sets the bar back in line with no binding and with the beefier bar I installed tightens up the front to complete the package.

    • @rclark641
      @rclark641 5 лет назад

      @@kenmedina7762 the blocks were fabricated using 2" square tubing. The lowering kit is Belltech and did not require the shock mount extensions. The sway bars front and back are Belltech. I did not use any modified end links on the front.

This total combination works for me, very sporty yet not unbearable of a ride, and looks just how I want it.

  • @Pusheenloveeatingpizza
    @Pusheenloveeatingpizza 6 лет назад

    I got the 2/4 crowns suspension with the shock extender from Ebay but DJM uses 2 kits for the shock extension. DJM kits RK2000 and SE2000, do I need these parts and the spohn for better handling and setup. A guy here on youtube drops his Yukon with the 3/4 crowns suspension but not sure if he just use his stock long rear end links. He didn't show how to install the shock extender.

    • @kenmedina7762
      @kenmedina7762  6 лет назад

      KuvYog I had another set of shock extenders that I took off as they wouldn't fit with the lower control arm relocating mounts. The djm kit for me with the spohn components front and back works for me. Djm kit with short rear sway links allows the rear sway bar to do its job along with the shocks not binding.
      Spohn panhard bar relocates the thrust angle back into spec, with front sway bar links getting the front sway bar back into factory geometry specs.
      Looks good, rides good, and can surprise a few by out handling them.

      They’re still holding a nice firm ride, not harsh it has more of that nice sport ride. The whole kit feels solid, these shocks worked out great. The shop I go to advised to not go with these as they would be to stiff. We haul the family and grandkids around no complaints.
      Take into account your tire and wheel combo. I have the factory 20’s so it all works well. If I had 22s or 24s the ride may be to much. Just a thought to consider.
      Reason I say is I dropped these cars of mine as follows.
      96 mustang GT and put 20’s on that with some sport shocks and it is stiff and rides hard. With the factory 18s it rides just fine.
      03 G35 with factory rims/tires same thing dropped with eibachs and KYBs and it rides awesome.

      @kenmedina7762  7 лет назад +1

      Jesus Jaime I'll do a follow up video with a walk around and ride.
      We got this in 07 because hauling five kids around with a dog we needed the room for getting them to school, family vacations, trips and hauling a trailer or boat. The kids are now grown and are all driving with their own cars and we now have 2 grandkids, recently with over 200k miles the factory suspension was tired and needed some attention as we were now using it more.
      It's not in the weeds but you can tell right off its lowered especially with the rake almost gone. The wheel gap is closed and with the stock 20s for me it's what the factory would have maybe put out kinda like the ford lightning or Harley edition F150s.
      Ride wise it is definitely tighter, more sporty feeling as it can come into a corner or a curve without much body roll and more input/road feel, no annoying bounce yet is better planted and feels solid. No bump steer either so I'm very happy.
      I set out to get that great factory ride and resulted in getting better looks as well in a combination that still works for us as its still very streetable.
