Steve Perry's REAL FANS voted him "THE GREATEST ROCK VOCALIST" Ever through Billboard in September, 2023! Steve acknowledged the WIN 🏆 with his usual humble self.
@@StarshipTrooper2050 This performance was lip synced. How can you not see that audio doesn't match up with what the band is doing (and that its obviously the recorded version)? Also, how can you not tell tell that there is a dual harmony guitar part during Neal Schon's solo but he's the only guitarist?
He's my favorite rock vocalist because of his voice being smooth and very strong with high and low notes and bringing them together. It's amazing and now I'm a huge fan.

What an awesome, Amazing performance of Steve Perry beautiful voice. He was so Electric with Electricity. He was on fire. I love this video of an timeless, classic Journey. Too Late but never Forgotten you Steve Perry ❤❤🎶🎙️🎤💎💎👑👑👑⭐⚡✨💥✨✨💯💯😘🥰
Steve Perry is one of the best vocalists in our time.He has a different style and sound 🎉🎉. He's definitely in a class by himself 🎉🎉. I'm happy that i grew up with this music 🎶 🎵
Their performance on The '78 Midnight Special was LIVE! I wish this '79 performance would have been LIVE as well! The Evolution Tour had some GREAT LIVE songs they wouldn't perform live again like "City of The Angels"........

1979...end our freshmen at the beginning of our sophomore year. Can't believe it was 44 years ago. We were all crazy about "Journey!" Happy Wednesday... thank you for sharing! 💖
This version of Journey was the absolute BEST!!!!! "Captured" i feel is one of the greatest concert albums of ALL TIME!!! If you want to hear Journey rock, have a listen!!!!!
Love this and everything Steve Perry did! With and without Journey. I don’t understand why they had him lip syncing to this and some others, when he’s always been so much better live! I can’t imagine the reasoning behind it. It’s kind of a crime to not have recorded this show live. 💞
Love Journey, saw them in the late 70’s what a fantastic band! Gregg Rolie on keyboards~singing~songwriting is awesome, he left Santana band which he co~founded to co~found Journey, what a fantastic musician thanks Gregg!! ❤ 🎉
2:45 we start hearing an unplugged guitar while the electric is in Neil's hand. This maybe was a set where Steve was maybe unwell ? Tough to accept that Journey would permit 'acting.' Wondering once again, are they playing and singing live, but synched to a track to have the choruses piped in, sweetening, as Warrant did a lot in the 80s ?
Yes, all their 1978 appearances plus these two jams, that very same night 🤷: ruclips.net/video/TXLednSyd3k/видео.html & ruclips.net/video/JLMiMy41A5s/видео.html
Steve Perry was the best lead vocalist . Check out Neil Schons hair. A virtuoso on guitar. They both are still the best, truly. The range of Steves voice and the purity of it effortlessly is truly amazing. And of course Neils playing just got better n better as time went on. Maybe just an opinion but probably the truth.
This particular session of Midnight Special, is it live or lip synced? The first Journey appearance on Midnight was definitely live. I'm not so sure about this one. It sounds beyond perfect, backup vocals included...In any case, this was my favorite era of Journey. ❤
I'm not trying to diminish the talent and contributions made by Journey and the joy the music brings but this is absolutely an example of the band mimicking or lipsynching along with prerecorded music and vocals. A choice was made either by management of the band or by the show's producers and they are clearly not playing live. Some do and some don't. It's when it becomes easy and common place that makes it very disappointing for our otherwise live concert performance opportunities thay ruins the experience for me.
Back when we all stood in awe of these bands when they performed, unlike the trash that passes for music now. Notice they don't need 35 backup singers with big boobs to distract everyone from the noise and don't need to lip sync.
Aquí la voz de Steve Perry no se parece en nada a la de Arnel pineda. Mucha gente se enamoró de este color de voz, y me incluyo por que es unica!... una en un millón dicen los que saben.
Wait, is this a live vocal performance? It sounds lipsynched to me. Its note for note, breath for breath, and timing exactly like the recorded vocals on the album. And how he uses the mic seems off. Compare to this truly live performance for example: ruclips.net/video/rPOnHh8yOsg/видео.htmlsi=gufY-xYwEavlyHmT Steve Perry is the GOAT, but this one appears lipsynced to me???
Oh yes...still magical!!! Best Band Ever...

Vocals on Steve Perry were out of this world for any 70's performers back then
And they still are today in 2024
Times of no auto-tune and lip syncing….the best.

Amazing voice
For any time period!
Early Journey albums with mr. Perry are an special chapter in Rock n roll history...WHAT A BAND!!
It’s too bad that Steve Perry will never get his due as one of the most incredible rock vocalists of all time…
He's my favorite rock vocalist because of his voice being smooth and very strong with high and low notes and bringing them together. It's amazing and now I'm a huge fan.

This is journey's most underrated song
It was a magical time, and I doubt most of us comprehended just how magical it really was.
I saw them twice back then, the one in Fort Wayne we were front row standing and Perry was wearing that yellow tank top, it was mesmerizing.
That's my all time favorite Journey song
Mine too
mine as well since 1981 when i first heard the song at the age of 10....

My favorite Journey album Evolution 1979 💙💚💙💚
His voice is the best then and now. His live vocals are outstanding too. I love to listen to him as I go to sleep as well.
Now this is a deep cut.
Journey was at their best with Rolle and Perry sharing lead.
What a magnificent voice!

Steve turned a San Francisco jam band into a freaking choir.
I don’t even dig Journey, but my lord those vocals! (And background vocals).

They must have used a backing track because I can hear Steve in the backing vocals.
It's lip synced. I can Shazam it.
@@epiphoney Another dead giveaway is that there's a harmony part to Neal's guitar right before the end of the solo.

I don’t think they are really lip synched. I think they actually preformed live. But the studio version was dubbed over for broadcast.
