2005 cavalier, just my odometer light isn't working. I read in a manual there are 5 bulbs in there. It looks digital. When you turn the ignition on, if you look real good in there you can see the mileage in black. Is it a regular bulb and can I get to it without removing the entire cluster?

Hey quick question for you. I need to do this on my car because the odometer is in kilometers and not mph. If I swap a u.s. cluster In will it automatically convert that?

If I switch the cluster will the miles on the cluster be the same as my car or do I get the donor car Mileage

Ha ha "Give us the finger...... that finger" accidental humor is allways the best :-D
Well the actual cluster was a dream to replace, one plug, much simpler than the old cars with the harness of discrete plugs like an old telephone exchange lol.
i used light oil on door locks on my mates cars, but i fully dismantled them down to the barrel and sliders/springs, they needed a clean first, then every part was coated with light oil and assembled, my bodgy job still works fine after 3 years :-D

Maybe you can answer my question since no one on jbody.org can seem to answer it. Do you think if I replace the odometer on my 2000 Cav for one that has a tachometer like the cluster you have, will I have to reprogram anything at all or is it as simple as plugging and play?

It is already wired for it so it's just plug in play you are good to go
