I hate how we're crediting Dr. Mike's success to his good looks. Yes, he's hot that's obvious. BUT, there are TONS of attractive people in all fields that aren't huge on social media. Dr. Mike is genuinely a good person and that comes across in all his interactions on social media. Yes, his looks draw us in but, honestly his personality and drive is what makes me want MORE content. I can't wait to see where he goes and I hope one day he gets his own TV show because honestly, we need more people like him in the world.

a f t e r s h o c k I mean my first impression was that he’s quite knowledgeable. First video I saw was him reacting to the Good Doctor and he was just sharing information through out and I was really impressed. And through out the video, not once did I think about his appearance.
Fam, if a doctor was walking around doing free consultation. I would jump that opportunity immediately. Consultation fees are crazy expensive for a broke and sickly college student like me.
Also, Mike is tall as heck. Made everyone else look so small.
that's risky stuff. especially if the "doctor" isn't really a medical doctor (b/c phd = doctor too). could just be random guy lying. (i.e. essential oils wont be curing your cancer. and vitamin B17: 1. isn't a vitamin, 2. wont cure cancer, 3. is a poison = can cause cyanide poisoning)

Well, that's a very gray-area kind of question. Can I identify a medical certificate/license? Yes I can. The problem is that different places have different protocols on that type of thing. Some places issue doctors small plastic cards akin to a driver's license but for a medical one while others do not. And on the point of it being possibly fake; well that's also a tricky question because that can literally apply to anything. How can you be sure that the guy who sold you something or gave you advice you on something is credible? When official documents aren't readily available, you yourself need to analyze the info your receiving to filter out and think to yourself what's true or not because believe it or not, there are a lot of times where if you pit a doctor vs a non doctor given a medical problem, the doctor could be wrong and the other one right. We need to use our common sense in these situations or else it'll just be paranoia ensuing.
So back to the main point, would I be able to guarantee their validity? No. Would I still take the risk of advice? Definitely. Why? Because I always make sure to do my own research (I even do this with my own attending doctors). As Dr. Mike put it in on his Ted Talk
"Expert opinion should be considered the lowest form of evidence."

I feel like youre really easy to talk to and you have a real down to earth type of explanation. When doctors explain stuff i feel like they use big words and technical words that they expect us to know and we dont all know these words and terms. You explain stuff for everyone to understand. So. Actually, doctors are not supposed to do that, I mean, we're supposed to explain terms in layman language, so it makes it easier for the patient to understand, they actually fail you in exams if you do that. I mean in my experience so far. A big part of being a doctor, is not only knowledge, but it's also communication.

I loved this! As a nurse I volunteered to take blood pressures at a senior center for 2 years. We had a gym, aerobics classes, Zumba, Tai Chi and more but I found myself answering basic health questions the whole time. With a large immigrant population over 80 I was talking to people who were never taught about their bodies and had no idea what their doctor said. I learned that if I took time to explain in simple ways how the kidney (etc) works that opened the door for blood pressure, diabetes, and kidney stone information that they could understand. May I suggest that you try segments on "biology for seniors" and teach how a body part works and how aging can change it. I was surprised that most of the questions were about skin, dryness, hair, teeth and other visible things. They didn't even know enough to frame questions about internal organs.

Consulting a know-it-all celeb doc should be done with care. America is too obsessed with celebrities, especially those who give bad advice. I'm not saying he chose the wrong career, though.
Your brain is just as good as his! He just happens to have a lot of knowledge in his line of work. Find something you love, and go after it. Eventually over time, with learning, studying, and hard work. You will have experience and knowledge in the field that you are passionate about and you will be like him. But in your own way!

I’m not sure if anyone has mentioned this but DO NOT use oil based lubricants if you’re using a condom. The oil will degrade the latex. I’m a TA for an intro biology lab and we do an experiment testing how different lubricants effect condom strength, and the oil based lubricant (we use Vaseline in the lab) makes the condoms break so quickly.

Yeah but it depends on the expiration date of the condoms --- if you use an oil-based condom right after it's manufactured then there is VERY little chance the oil will degrade the latex
