I'm so happy for you man! I've been watching your videos for a while now and might I say you are probably the smartest person I've ever had the privilege of watching when it comes to dirt bikes. You inspire me to do things with motors I thought I'd never do because I figured I'd screw up but then I see you do it and you make it seem like a piece of cake! I hope I can be as good of a mechanic as you someday. Congratulations on the next step of your journey I can't wait to see more!
My friend I'm 54 years old and I've pretty much done the same as you all my life. Doing the best I could with what I could figure out. After years of doing that I shifted my career into being a race car chassis builder, CNC machinist, welder, metal fab specialist. Went to work is several very high tech shops with access to all the best equipment. Now as an old man working from my own shop without all the high tech equipment I find it very difficult going back to doing everything with nothing again. Stuff I can easily do but going backwards and doing it the hard way is difficult to force myself to do. If I can help anyone from my mistakes I want to do that. Be careful to not follow my path because it kills the joy of what you do. Watching you takes me back to my pryme again and reminds me why I followed the path I did. Most of what you do isn't the best way of accomplishing the task but its a way and that's what matters. Once you've been exposed to the best way it becomes so hard going back to just doing stuff a way. Its because you know how much you're beating your head against the way. As I watched this video I was thinking a tumbler would knock that out with ease with the correct media. But most people don't own a tumbler large enough to surface parts that size.
Another GREAT video. Thanks for sharing all your knowledge. My oldest brought home a 94 KDX200 in a thousand pieces and it needs a full frame off resto, all the way to a new crank. We are using a lot of you cleaning tips to get it back to what it was in it's prime.
Hey just a quick FYI for next time when you're using a grinding disc for its unintended purpose (benchgrinder) make sure it's rated for the RPM that you are using it for, if its not rated for the rpm it can break apart throwing pieces of grinding disk everywhere... trust me i know, grinding stone for grinder was not rated for the rpm 1st time i went to use it, it broke... lets just say it hurt
Cameron, another great video. Glad to hear you’re in your prime. Just remember, if you want to stay in your prime, you must take care of your health. Without it, you’ve got nothing. Please wear goggles when using grinder and a respirator. You’re still young now but breathing in all the aluminum dust will mess up your lungs at a later time in life. I’m 62 and still building and restoration of bikes. You want to be doing it in 40 years from now. You never lose the passion. I didn’t.
They look nice when they are polished but the anodizing on the shock body is there to prevent corrosion and also adding a protective layer to the shock.
Your videos are so theraputic! You keep your bikes so clean i wouldnt want to ride them in fear of getting them dirty id just sit an admire them instead. Nicly done im gona try this method on the tripple trees on a kdx 200 im restoring
You got me to take up my dirt riding agin after 15 years of roadracing! Got me a CRF450!! Way to powerful for me but my local track is a sandtrack so whent for power! God job//Kalle from sweden
I was just doing my shock body this week! I had not seen this video, wish i had! I was doing it with sandpaper, by hand, a wire brush, finer sandpaper and polish. It did not work out well at all. So i decided to paint. First attempt, tuesday, not flash, then better after sanding back and re painting. But i like your work so much better! Ill give your methods a go (i dont have a bench grider tho), with the brake calipers.
Hey Cameron, great job on yet another smart and informative video. Gave me some ideas for finishes on our supermoto bike build. FYI: I would guess you know this already, but be sure to wear a respirator when working with aluminum in any manner that creates any kind of airborne dust. Aluminum dust breathed (or absorbed) in the body does nasty things to the electrical activity in the brain, and is very hard to remove, being a light metal, once in the blood, brain, tissue and nervous system. I learned this by health-damaging personal experience doing metalwork with aluminum 20 years ago. You're such an incredible young man and contribute so much to all of us out here, just want you to be safe and sound and around a LONG TIME! Take care.
Cameron get a California Air Tools compressor it is the most Quiet air compressor you can buy. it will be able to spin that attachments and many others.
You deserve it all man, have picked up more ideas and things i never new about bikes off your channel!!! My hat goes off to u man keep it real man and continue youtube!!! Inspiring
Tip for anyone trying to clean up a shock like this.. If you get a small sanding belt and turn it inside out, put a rubber drum fitting on your drill and use that to drive the sanding belt while it's hooked around the cylindrical parts of the shock you can achieve a perfect finish in very little time and you don't have to worry about compromising the perfect roundness of the shock body like you would using a grinder
Great videos, and congrats on your company. Would love to see a video on bench grinder comparisons, your Baldor is big bucks but what would get good for those of us on a budget ?
Really like the videos, they have truly helped me with working on the 2 bikes I own now. Please keep them coming and don't stop what you are doing. Really.
Love the brushed look you could offer that sort of thing to the mx croud never seen it out there. Greight vids by the way very thorough and profeshenell.
Man I love your enthusiasm! I’m not a big hat person, so I can not wait until you have hoodies and shirts! I would love to be the first one to get a #prymemx merch!
Polished aluminium parts looks amazing. I like you share your expirience and thinking what to do better next time. What about a bunch of tape protecting the fragile chrome plated surfaces on the leg or thread on the shock?
Just a suggestion when you use different "grits" on metal slightly change the angle each step. This allows you to better see if you've actually removed all the scratch marks from the previous step.
Curious about something because I'm also doing a cr250 build. When you polish and strip the casting to frame/swing arm/ forks do you need to protect them with any spray constantly or will they not be harmed by rust ect.?
Cameron Niemela I don’t know if you were wanting a variable speed one, but you could check out a metabo die grinder and I’m pretty sure that dewalt makes one that will work with the batteries you have.
Hey just wondering if you're are supposed to use a heat gun to install the prime mx grip tape? because when I installed mine it didn't stick to the contouring of my frame
Yes, you need to use a heat gun for installation. Make sure you read through the instructions that came with the guards. Thanks for rocking the guards on your bike!
Hello from Spain man! Awesome work and absolutely unique!! One question for such a wise like you: knowing that you are a 2 stroke lover, how do you clean the usual rust of the pipes? I've searching on internet and particularly in RUclips, and I think that there is not a good video about it. I believe it would be great and certainly interesting for the RUclips community if such an expert like you will produce it ;). Regards man!
Thanks for watching! Mag wheel cleaner and a wire brush or scotch brite pad actually work good for stripping light rust. Anything heavy will need a rust dissolver.
I love to hear the sound of a 2 stroke again! Too bad that I crashed my RM125 :(.....! Definitely would have asked you to fix it if I lived in the same place.
Can you do a video on how to build a hydraulic bike stand from things from lowes? Like nothing super fancy or that requires welding but one that will be strong and get both wheels off the ground easily? Would be a good video for your channel!
I do offer shipping to any country in the world. Once you add the item to the shopping cart the shipping price will be calculated for you and then you can checkout. Thanks!

Cameron Niemela now you are a sculptor
Cameron Niemela really good job! I wish I could do same job! Like for sure as allways!
The finish on the parts looked amazing! Can't wait to see the whole bike back together!

Thanks KJ! That means a lot to see comments like this. Happy I can provide some value.

You are so spot on with that! Thank you for sharing!
Your tips and techniques are awesome thanks

Best video series on RUclips for sure! Can’t wait till the next video! Your attention to detail is impeccable!
Id definitely buy some grips
personally, I don't like shiney. But I do like that you are trying new things! Keep up the good work!
solid work, my suspension guy does the same thing and anodizes the shock bodies after they are smoothed out, turns out looking like a works shock
Yoooo you got your own company thats amazing
Best motocross RUclipsr ever. Keep up the great work
I did a trx450r swing arm by hand, took for ever but came out dope
Your videos are so theraputic! You keep your bikes so clean i wouldnt want to ride them in fear of getting them dirty id just sit an admire them instead. Nicly done im gona try this method on the tripple trees on a kdx 200 im restoring
Man you are teaching us how our dirt bikes looks factory!, Thank bro!! #Pryme
Cameron, I use my Dremel with different bits for polishing aluminum in places the bench grinder can’t reach. Works like a charm. Dremels rock.
You got me to take up my dirt riding agin after 15 years of roadracing! Got me a CRF450!! Way to powerful for me but my local track is a sandtrack so whent for power! God job//Kalle from sweden

Congrats Cameron! Excited for you, your success and your future! Pryme MX looks awesome. Looks like I will be purchasing one of those sweet hats!
hell yea man!! never seen that finish on suspension before, looks dope. bout time your dropping some merch!
A quick job with the brass wheel brush would also have put a shine to the shock threads without any damage.
Brass wheel leaves brass behind on aluminium
I cannot wait to see this put together. This 2 stroke is gonna look so sick
Just rebuilt my 93 kx250 rear shock. Dude you made this one look epic! Props

Yes, that is a good reminder for all of us!
wish i would have known this before porting aluminum heads by hand for the past few years... what were your health issues that resulted?
Cameron get a California Air Tools compressor it is the most Quiet air compressor you can buy. it will be able to spin that attachments and many others.
Sick video and website! I'm definitely going to be ordering things
You deserve it all man, have picked up more ideas and things i never new about bikes off your channel!!! My hat goes off to u man keep it real man and continue youtube!!! Inspiring
Thank You!
That is a really clean and smooth finish dude!.
And that short clip was beautiful, I am not a dirtbike guy, but you really make me want to buy one.
Love Cameron work best videos on RUclips from start to finish. Happy to see you doing better. Much love and respect bro keep up all the great work.

Great videos, and congrats on your company. Would love to see a video on bench grinder comparisons, your Baldor is big bucks but what would get good for those of us on a budget ?
Thank you..I appreciate your passion
Love your vids. Keep it up this is basically the only thing I watch on RUclips now. Helped me a lot when I rebuilt the forks on my 03 cr250
sweet results as allways man , awsome stuff
I have tip on Aluminium parts ;) Do not use these items, use cloth disc with polishing paste. But this is good too. Nice video love it :)
BejKK _ With that you would get a mirror finish, not what he was looking for.
N VD97 Oh okay sorry ;)
BejKK _ Haha no need to be sorry mate, I also use the same method as yours sometimes. Works very good, just for a different purpose ;-)
Love your videos and cant wait to see the cr put back together. keep up the good work.
awesome dude, those parts look fresh!
and congrats with your ventures into Pryme MX
Great job! I can tell you love your work it shows, Keep it up!!!
best of luck with Pryme MX !
Cool video. How can you clean the top front shocks on the gold area?
Really like the videos, they have truly helped me with working on the 2 bikes I own now. Please keep them coming and don't stop what you are doing. Really.
Just make your own Dremel scotch bright roll! Cut circles layer , use 2 liter bottle plastic as washers there you go!
When are you going start assembling the cr 250
#Pryme
Looks fantastic Camron. Also, congrats on the business. Would definitely order some grips and such. I’ll be watching. 😎
Love the brushed look you could offer that sort of thing to the mx croud never seen it out there. Greight vids by the way very thorough and profeshenell.

Thanks! Yeah tape would definitely help there!
I would buy your grips 100% I say you have a enough knowledge to design some great grips and even bar pads I would buy
Hope you be the best of yourself always. Keep it up, mentor
Damn have to buy one cap but bro you have to make mx gear. Keep up the good work!
Love the Logo bro! Congrats on starting your own company, just placed my first order. Keep up the good work, your Killin it.
Thanks so much Ray!
Love the vid and your work!
does anyone else drool a little watching these videos...
Just a suggestion when you use different "grits" on metal slightly change the angle each step. This allows you to better see if you've actually removed all the scratch marks from the previous step.
cool vid man love all your vids keep making more
I have been a dirtrider when I was 12 year old im 55-year-old and still love it
Those poly wheels are savage!
Curious about something because I'm also doing a cr250 build. When you polish and strip the casting to frame/swing arm/ forks do you need to protect them with any spray constantly or will they not be harmed by rust ect.?
full polished dirtbike ;) now that would look crazy
Very nice looking parts! Keep up the good work brother!🤙🏻
This cr250 is gonna look amazing when its done. Maybe dirtbike magazine will hit u up and see if they could feature the finished bike....
How good is that harbor freight die grinder?
It works well, just not for this. If it was variable speed it'd be perfect.
Cameron Niemela I don’t know if you were wanting a variable speed one, but you could check out a metabo die grinder and I’m pretty sure that dewalt makes one that will work with the batteries you have.
Prime for sure! Thank you for sharing!

I do offer shipping to any country in the world. Once you add the item to the shopping cart the shipping price will be calculated for you and then you can checkout. Thanks!
Awesome Video keep it going ! You inspired me to rebuild a bike by myself:-) Greetings from Germany
Is there a way to anodized these parts?
Nice, time to buy some merch!!!!!
Trying something new is the way to progress.
You should do anodizing!!!!
Great Video Dude have you ever considered clear coating your parts after buffing them to retain the finish ?
Keep up the videos !
I haven't, clear coat would chip pretty quick on a dirt bike. This kind of finish is very easy to keep up on.
keep it up man, great content as always:))
Good work bud!!!
