I've been looking at several reviews on tool because I'm considering buying one. So far, this is the best review on this cut off tool. Really impressive so thank you for this. I will check out your other videos.

Thanks, I appreciate that! I just did an Instagram story showing how I used this tool for reshaping a cheap screwdriver to make a baseball glove lace needle. It's very handy for all types of odd jobs.

This tool is AWESOME! So happy Milwaukee made a unique tool like this. I use mine to cut up very thick cardboard boxes and plastic containers. Does it effectively and effortless, way better than a sharp knife, angle grinder or a small circular saw which I used previously, now I only use this tool with the multi material blade!

I used to open my beer cans with my angle grinder, but I can see this thing would probably be more suited for the task.

So far used it to cut off nails in a closet in my old house remodel, nails and sheet metal, tested out the saw blade, it works better freehand than with the dust chute for those task, I have used it to cut a little vinyl tile.

Hey Mark. I know this is 5 years old and likely your not reviewing comments any more.I'm glad you did this review. Testing on many types of materials is key to understanding this amazing little tool. I love mine and use it all the time. Understanding its limitations, and its use is very important. Few reviewers have explained how important and flexible is the FORWARD AND REVERSE function of this tool. Like a circular saw whose blade cuts upward, this holds the saw down so it won't hop up. It pulls it DOWN to secure what you're cutting. Likewise with the Milwaukee tool, when you were cutting the tile you should change the direction so it pulls the tool down onto the material. Yours kept hoping up cutting the tile since you had the blade going in the wrong direction. Same when you were cutting the steel pipe.
Bottom line, this baby cut off tool is actually much better than you made it appear. But I understand. It was your first use of the product. I've also found the Milwaukee blades aren't the best. I'm using Diablo 3" blades and they are much better. Pro tip: The shoe that is also the dust collector really helps with a straight line cut AND if you make sure the blade is cutting UP (like a circular saw) the dust collection works better.

Hey Jay, yes I still go though as many comments as I can keep up with and enjoy reading this.
I appreciate you pointing all those things out. I think this is a tool that you have to use for awhile to really understand how useful it is. I now keep it stored on my tool wall with a Diablo blade in it ready to go. It's stored near my Wilton vise, because I use it all the time. It's actually one of my favorite tools that I would replace if something happened to it.
I can't say there's a typical item I use it on. My family brings things to me that need to be fixed or built and it's amazing how many times this has helped make that happen. I haven't really tried it on tile yet, but have the attachment available when I'm ready for it.

I just ordered this so I can cutout plaster walls without making a mess, I have the same carbide blades for a sawsall but man it's messy and it doesn't always make the cleanest cut as the plaster chips away. Hoping this thing will be the ticket with the dust collection and I have no issue with it only have 5/8 depth like some people. Haven't Recieved it yet but I'm pretty stoked to get it in a few days.

greta little tool. I have been using all the m12 tools recently as either punch list tools or hand tool, replacmentzs. Its ntgo a tool you are ging to use all day, its not your primary work tool, but for a pro its a great punch list tool. Its small, and if I have a bunchof stuff to do it works great as a general cutter. Just used mine yesterday to repair a PVC railing I had tom replace that one of my crews broke on a job..... some guys commenting that there ait tool is so much better and faster.... as a real GC in the field I can attest that everything is faster then an air tool whe your running to job sites just trying to get a few items done as you make your way around the different jobs the company has active.

shocks, frozen bolts or nuts on the car/trucks. I use my plug in for auto work, cutting tile inside vent holes, sharping mower blades with the correct sanding disc. A battery tool would be cool- ridgid or bosch since those are the battery types I currently own.

Tip: for cutting ceramic/tile score a cut/track- line on the surface of the tile, to keep blade for slipping . And work cut line til blade works though tile, makes cleaner cut and saves the blade!
Only rookies try to cut though ceramic with pass, it’s not wood‼️⛔️
