🚓 1971 Jensen Interceptor - Letty Ortiz (Michelle Rodriguez)
There were four of these cars and all of them came from California and that's why they're all left hand drive (LHD). Cars were equiped with LS3 engines and disk brakes from 2010 Ford Mustang GT to help bring this British classic into the 21st century. Three of the cars had also fully functional Magnaflow side exhausts.

@@celticwind4122 I know one problem people have with it is it suffers from a massive identity crisis. No one really knows what this car is supposed to be. A muscle car? A compact? I think it also has wiring issues because the wires are just straight up trash. Basically, it's like the Back To The Future DeLorean. The movie makes it look cool, but in reality, it's one of the worst cars you could ever buy and is best left as just a interesting footnote of automobile history.
Such an odd race. After the startup, nobody's watching the race. And there's no one at the finish line to see who wins.
Cause the race is for pinkslips not glory/street cred

I have an unusual story about one of these Jensen Interceptors.....
So when it comes to car movies,
I never really liked the 'Fast and Furious' movie franchise and I'd never seen a Jensen Interceptor in a movie or in person and the first time I'd even heard about the car was one that they talked about in the 'Death Race' movie (w/Jason Stathom) in which a derogatory statement had been made about the car saying;
"...it handled like a school bus."
But the Jensen Interceptor name kinda peaked my interest enough that looked up the car and liked what I saw so much that I took several screenshot pictures of it and have them in my phone still to this day.
Both of my own Mad Max cars are built from police cars (one is a 2008 Ford Police Interceptor and the other is a 1968 Ford LTD 390 Interceptor clone hence the interest in the name.)
So fast forward a few years and I went to the Easter car show last weekend(4/16/22) in Hurricane Utah that I was invited to by Matt's Offroad Recovery(via YT) for a fundraiser.
So I entered and drove my 2008 Mad Max themed car all the way out there from San Jacinto California (approx.500 miles one way) and while I was at the car show I met a girl from Oregon that was visiting her parents in Utah that lived about a 35 minutes from the car show.(yet to be discovered by me)
She had talked her dad into going to the car show because he had a car that he hadn't been able to finish in his garage because of medical conditions or 'something' and she saw my car there and asked me if it was mine and I said;
"Yes!"
and then she asked me;
"Do you WASTELAND?......."
....to which I responded by giving her
'the finger🖕' which is the universal means of saying "Hi and glad to see you!" by people that attend this event I go to in California City called Wasteland Weekend (described as a 'Week Long Post Apocalyptic Party in the Desert') that has about 4000 people and probably about 350+ Mad Max/Road Warrior themed cars driving around.
I had been going to the event with friends for about 7 years but last year (2021) was the 1st time that she had attended the event.,
Oddly enough last year was the 1st year that the event was being held again after the pandemic but I hadn't actually 'attended' for personal reasons but just drove one of my street legal Mad Max cars out for it's maiden voyage and to visit friends that did participate.
So she and I talked for probably about 5 or 10 minutes,I said I would be in town for a few days and it was really busy at the event so I had a lot of people interrupting us to ask about my car so she went her way and I stayed with my car.
About an hour later she walked up and handed me a piece of paper and after I got back to my motel room when the show was over I called and left her a message that it was nice to run into a 'Fellow Wastelander' and that I was gonna see the sights while I was there and if she had any suggestions.
She texted me to let me know that she had family engagements to keep her occupied for the rest of the evening,so we texted back and forth briefly and I again said it was nice to run into each other and goodnight......
The next morning she texted me and asked how long I would be in town before I had to leave to go back to California?
So after finding out her parents only lived about a 1/2 away we agreed I would stop by to her and let her family see the car.
Shortly after I arrived several different people in her family came out to admire the car and they noticed that I had small metal sign type painting of the Ford Falcon XB that Mel Gibson's character drove in the 'Mad Max/Road Warrior' films with the word INTERCEPTOR painted above the car.
Her and her mom looked at each other after noticing this smiled and said;"There is something dad needs to show him!!"
Just about then was when her father came outside to look at my car and then asked me to follow him to the garage.....
When the door opened,....right there in front of me was a 1971 Jensen Interceptor with the factory equipped Chrysler 44O V8 with a Turbocharger the size of a spiral cut ham!!!! As I said before I had never seen one in real life and didn't even know about these car' until about 5 years ago!! While talking with him him he explained to me that it was originally purchased in Utah butah but they were shipped from Australia to America to be equipped with Chrysler 440 big block engines as kind of a European/American fusion Muscle/Touring Car (Think of a 'hot hatch' inspired Jaguar XJ12 with a Big Block stuffed under the bonnet!!)
The car had originally been purchased and what appeared to be Canary yellow and he had it changed it to a deep burgundy metallic (That looked very similar to the color of a 1972 barracuda I used to have in my early twenties.)
So needless to say I was happily impressed and surprised to have had the opportunity to see such a car (though not completely finished) in person by the person that had done some very significant performance modifications(the turbo installation and a dodge truck 6 speed automatic swap.)
So basically within a 48 hour period I got to see the car and person that I'd only seen pictures and read about,and just now got to see one in action in this video.
God I love that sound of the interceptor

It’s got a 363 cubic inch Chrysler V8 paired with Italian styling. It’s up there with the Jaguar E-type as among the most valuable British classic cars albeit with an American big block v8 engine.
I will always remember fast and furious 6 because of Letty’s Interceptor. In 2013 when fast 6 came out the only people aware of the Jensen Interceptor were classic car nerds, Gran Turismo players and people who watched Top Gear’s the interceptors skit from Top Gear series 17 (from 2011). And thanks to Top Gear and Fast 6 the interceptor is immortalized among even the mainstream car enthusiasts

Keep in mind before this movie the biggest exposure the Jensen Interceptor got in popular culture was a Top Gear segment in 2011 and the Gran Turismo games.
This movie made the car look cool with its 5.7 Liter Chrysler V8 and Italian styling

Based off 1969 Dodge Daytona. They were created specifically to race in NASCAR but since rules mandated a certain number had to made as production cars to be sold, 543 were made for showrooms.

Stock vs Stock versions,.... the Superbird is faster on the straights, and the Jensen is much better in the corners, power is about the same for the road-going versions, but the Jensen is lighter so will get off the line better. And the Jensen's brakes are far better.
