It would be a 10/10 the chase was so good, but the end was so cheesy I've got to deduct at least 2 points. 1. She didn't have time to stop, stash her bike, and walk out into the road with how far she was ahead and 2. She had no way to know if he'd be able to stop/dodge making it a terrible plan in the first place. 7.5/10

8 out of 10. They could have at least put the M5 wheels on the stunt car going during the chase.

The best thing about this chase is that you actually can feel how fast they are going, though stopping or crashing are a bit different

First time you see Tom on highway hes going maybe 60-80 mph. Look at the shirt flaping around. If he was going 120 that thing would be ripped of him.

What I meant is that during shooting he was driving as fast as 130mph, but not all shots were real, especially the cornering ones

Even after watching Dead Reckoning part 1, this is still by far the best chase in the series.

At 5:57 where the guy takes out a gun and the wind from the other car pushes it down. One of the coolest action shots ever. Super subtle but really gives you a sense of the speed

When I first saw these scenes at 0:01 & 1:20 in theaters, everyone was laughing including me! 😂
Reasons why the action scenes in the Mission Impossible scenes are superior to anything else:
1. Geography. You get a sense of exactly how and where the duration of the scene takes place.
2. Editing. No overuse of shaky cams and quick edits.
3. Music. Or the lack thereof. Hearing the engines roar works better. Music only shows up when its needed.
4. Collateral damage. The writing of the characters (the good ones) and the director go through the effort of making us believe that this can happen realistically without killing a gazillion people on the streets. It feels better when the protagonist survives knowing that no mom and her twin babies got obliterated in a high speed chase on the sidewalk.
5.Containment. Less is more. You don't need 20 cars blowing up in slow motion; just a legit chase scene that looks realistic with some blow ups, but more focus on the detail.
6. Humour. Not cartoonish, not over the top. Just the right amount.
I absolutely love this series (with the exception of the 2nd film) and I really hope MI8, which might be the last, won't ruin it.

For those who wonder why chase sequences in foreign countries always happen around tourist landmarks, it's because heroes rarely explore the rest of the city. Thus, that's the only areas they know.
The best part is that Tom cruise does his own stunts. The chase without helmet is hard to imagine that Tom belongs in a different level of action

There is a reason why he put the sunglasses on, wind over 30mph will destroy your retinal.
That wreck at the end would usually knock out the driver or kill him and break bones. No helmet, no gear, no pads.... would be road rash and broken bones, and usually hitting a guard rail or rock on the side of the road causing death or quadriplegic. Excellent cinema.

Even with protective gear, a motorcycle crash at that speed is almost a guaranteed fatality.

All i could notice is the tires changing during the driving down stairs scene, all the other scenes before and after have low profiles, when they go down the stairs they have base model rims and bigger tires on lol
The sense of speed with the bikes is incredible. But to be fair, he should not have any skin left after that last crash
