I found what works really well for holding the spur gear is an old 14" nylon dog collar I had laying around. Just wrap it around the gear and then use some channel lock plumbers pliers to pinch it closed around the gear where the pinion gear goes in. This holds it super tight and makes it easy to tighten or remove the nut off of the slipper clutch. Similar to using a strap wrench to remove an automotive oil filter.
thank you for all your infomation, great job, now my turn,, lol,, the transmishion is the hardest, i thank, I did subscribe, and hope to see more, thanks!!!!
Bought my honcho a year ago nd drive it daily (not through water) and it is bonestock. Only changed the tires a month ago. Still no issues and is going strong!
You should try the Injora billet aluminum beadwork wheels. They add good weight down low and they are a true beadlock wheel(38 screws per wheel!). Injora makes great products, I use all their stuff on my SCX24 and SCX6. They also make a n8ce dual stage from insert for the SCX6 for around $21 a pair.
After running my SCX6 Honcho for over a year I switched all my plastic over to Vitavon stuff. The only stock parts left is the body, L&R frame rails, ESC and motor, and the front bumper.
@@ProNoobRC Id like to get a SCX6 Wrangler someday and build it with different parts such as Treal. But I didn't buy all that Vitavon at the same time. I pieced it together. Over 5-6 months. I will say that Vitavon parts are like aluminum jewelry and the quality is #1. The swaybar system they have is fantastic.
Lol but what about the trans goooop!?!? Lol. I highly doubt this truck could handle full submersion.. Traxxas vehicles are pretty much amphibious lol.! The first day I had my UDR Jesse, and I were ploughing through 4 inches of water. hahah!
14:56 Skil makes a 4v twist action driver that is slower speed and torques everything perfect for rc. Best $25 you can spend on these. Pair that with some MIP speed bits... fackin mint bud!
I have the Honcho in my shopping cart, ready to pull the trigger. How do you like the alum axles? Did they help settle the truck a bit with lower cog? Sorry for all the questions. Awesome informative videos!
The aluminum axles are more for rigidity and to keep the ring and pinion mesh tight. Not much weight is added compared to how much the truck weighs overall but yes, I’m sure he does help a little bit but nothing like on the 10 scales. And you should buy that honcho. You will love it. They are complete game changers.. I hate saying it, but 1/6 is soooo much better!
What size thickness is the shim that axial end up put in the axles in the updated version did you measure it to see if it was the same as the .02mm I did not see You measure the included shim would like to know if new version had anything/tolerances changed at all or if they just added a .02mm or .03mm one of my scx6's I had to put .03 in thanks appreciate it
Do you know thye proper part number for the should pins? The book says the p/n is AXI255001 but this is incorrect. I really need shoulder pins but I cannot get them due to the lack of a correct part number!
@@ProNoobRC I would appreciate that. however, I talked to horizon today and they say the issue is that they don't make the part yet and they just recommend that I use regular screws for now..... how long has the Honcho been out?

Yes .02 it is from axial also. Probably the exact same part since Horizon owns all of the companies now lol
not sure but you had me cracking up, first time watching your channel im following ya!!
Lol cheers!
Do you think someone could carefully heat the axle housing and straighten that bend?
Not a chance. Something wouldn’t fit after. Only option is too swap it out unfortunately
@@ProNoobRC Makes sense. It for sure would knock the link mounts out of whack or something.
Me likey
I use the same driver and I actually use it more than my Dewalt.
Very nicely explained and technical really appreciate that.

How can you get the full torque and speed, from the servo, that is advertised for a 12.6v setup when your 3s battery only produces 11.1v?
12.6 is 3s fully charged and 11.1 is storage voltage. It’s a measurement of cell range.. very confusing
Hit the bell again
Cheers! We found your page and subbed!!
Odd question here... what bit set do you use with the Milwaukee driver?
Hot racing dynamite. Great sets don’t get cheap ones
Thanks bro
Cheers!
I really thought the diff housing of scx6 is already made of metal for its price
Eliminator rc advertisement? Are you in Winnipeg by chance?
Yes we are just north in st andrews mb.
For the new servo , what website do I find it at..?
