    Blue imo shouldn't be tricky to build around. Yellows, browns, white, pinks, reds and grays work well with blue.

      Tips:
      - Try not to disconnect the USB cable too much. If you you connect or reconnect it, then touch something metal to ground yourself. If you ever see static from this cable, then this advice is a total must.
      - if the gap between the hole for the usb-cable and the handle of the cable is large (which would create a lot of wiggle room), then get a VICTRIX SPACER on Etsy ASAP 🙏🏼
      These are the two main issues I have with the VICTRIX and I want you to be able to really enjoy this otherwise amazing stick as much as possible ☺️🙏🏼

      Definitely the big weakness of the Victrix, one I forgot to mention, is it is not flexible on layouts for obvious reasons. Not only will you sacrifice NOIR (which I like a lot), but it’ll be a lot of work to install a thumb button or crossup layout.

      That’s a very good question! Fortunately, I did not have this problem and it is mostly about which USB-C cable comes with your Victrix, I believe. However, what’s great is there is a solution that is cheap and available should you have a mismatched cable-you can get 3d printed spacers on Etsy.

    Hi thanks for the deep dive on this. One question I was wondering is, is the white color prone to visible scratching/marks? That was one concern I had on the white color compared to the old black color.

    • @SaintChanchai
      @SaintChanchai  6 месяцев назад

      That’s a very good question! I’ll tell you my answer based on a year and a half with it!
      The great news is that it is generally better than previous models for the most part! The White model uses a powder coat finish which maintains a clean look while older models that use a brushed aluminum finish are prone to smudging and marking.
      I am not an expert on finishes, but the powder coat finish on the white model seems pretty heavy/thick to me and this is a great thing as I find it very easy to clean and far less likely to get permanent marks.
      That said, the only areas I’ve seen wear is… I sometimes place the Victrix standing on its side at events-and a friend has noticed a tiny bit of wear of the coating on the edge I’ve stood the Victrix on. It reveals the aluminum underneath just a tiny bit-but it’s there.
      So yes, it’s possible to have wear and tear, but I honestly think the white powder coat is gorgeous and overall durable.
      It is pretty matte.
      The white powder coat is not similar to the purple’s coat which has a beautiful mix of purple and (barely) black. I think both models are gorgeous and the purple is underrated until you see how lovely it is in person.
      I cannot speak for the wear and tear of purple-things said above are about the white powder coat which I think is textured and gorgeous.

      @@neol07707 “Black” is tricky to respond to.
      The original Victrix Pro FS (no touchpad), the Ryu, and the Akuma were brushed aluminum black. These models it’s easy for dust to be visible and smudges and marks to happen. So you have to clean it often before photos.
      The standard dark grey models that were second generation (with touch pad), but not the Street Fighter models, used a powder coat similar to the white. I don’t think they are exactly the same, but the gray is less prone to smudging and marks and dust isn’t as much as an issue at all like on brushed aluminum.

      @SaintChanchai  6 месяцев назад +1

      Good question!
      The only one I’ve used with the Victrix is the one from Paradise Arcade.
      The holes on the Victrix cable posts are not the largest, so looking up shoulder strap can be problematic without using a carabiner.
      However, when looking up “hand bag strap” I did see a lot of options that seem like they can work. I would focus on the straps that would distribute the weight more (wider strap and more durability and grip on your body/clothes) to hopefully lower the resulting force on each post.

    Might have to replace my Mad Catz TE2 plus with this. Or get the hitbox version since I've been wanting a hitbox for a while. How are Victrix sticks when it comes to long term up keep? Would you say they're easy to mod, keep, clean, etc? Thanks in advance. ☮

    • @SaintChanchai
      @SaintChanchai  2 года назад +1

      Clean/Upkeep: The Powder Coated models are easy to keep clean. The White, Purple, and standard Gray Model w/Touchpad are the powder coated models. Easy to clean, doesn’t attract fingerprints. The models without touchpad and the Limited Edition Street Fighter models are brushed aluminum finish and you want to always have a microfiber cloth around to keep them looking pristine as they easily smudge and I worry they may easily scratch.
      Mod: They are easy to change levers and can accommodate most Japanese and Korean Short Collar levers. The concern is if the lever’s assembly is tall, but it looks like modern models are better about that already. Most levers currently on sale on arcade parts retailers will work. Buttons are very easy to replace once you’ve disconnected the wires from the buttons for the first time. In the video I provide tips for removing the buttons.
      The Victrix and VS1R are the easiest stick for me to swap parts. I forgot to make a dedicated section about it but I am a huge fan of open compartment under the Arcade case. It’s easier to manage screws and wiring when everything is upside down. Hinged top panels sound great on paper but I don’t enjoy installing and modding levers at an angle. Especially from under that angle. One day I’ll cover my pros and cons of different panel access designs in a video 🙏🏼

      Regarding All Button Controllers and the Victrix Pro FS-12… I’m looking forward to the reviews of the FS-12 to see if user’s end up preferring an all buttons layout with such a nice and angled panel. The ergonomics of ABC are different, so I am very curious!

    My link 2 ball top spins and wont tighten is mine just like that or is it always like that?

    • @SaintChanchai
      @SaintChanchai  Год назад

      This is normal for most Japanese style balltop levers including the Sanwa JLF and most Seimitsu levers.
      The Seimitsu Nobi levers do not spin at all. Most Korean levers (including Golden Lever) have a lot of spin reduction.
      For most Japanese levers it is a feature or defining trait.
      In my experience, and this is more based on how one grip’s the handle, I get faster player 1 (character on LEFT facing RIGHTWARD) performance with spin.
      However, when using levers with less spin, my player 2 (character on RIGHT facing LEFTWARD) performance is improved with more stability in technique.
      But this effect is minor for me.
      In the end, preference and what you get used to is what matters 🙏🏼
      But when playing in the arcades in Japan, I am used to playing on worn down Sanwa JLF levers with spin and having to manually pull the stick to neutral because of the worm down spring from long term use. This is not a necessary thing, just my veteran experience 😂
      Having said that, I believe that Link 2, Phreakmods Link, and Link Ex Groove will all spin.
      Crown/Samducksa I believe has a removeable handle/shaft design in their Infiltration 301 lever and that probably does not spin, but that lever is very unpopular and I have not used it yet (but I will try one out soon)!
      Sanwa also has a removeable shaft design but I believe it is both complicated and I think will still have spin.

      Gen 3 (white/purple) vs Gen 2 (dark gray)
      The biggest difference is the PCB has changed so that there is a switch to toggle PS4/PS5/PC modes. This change is significant as the pc mode now uses X-Input drivers which works better out of the box.
      The old PCB in gen 1 and Gen 2 would function as a PS4 controller when on ox and overall that is okay, except you would have to reconfigure sone things in windows for full functionality.
      Aside from that, mainly the cosmetics but I’m living both Gen 2 and Gen 3 sticks.

    Hi thanks for the video! I just got my stick and have a question. How do you program the pro button to R3? I read that you hold the Victrix x and pro button until they flash, then move the stick left for L3 and right for R3. I did this, however the pro button still seems to be programmed to the options/menu button on ps5. Thanks!

    • @SaintChanchai
      @SaintChanchai  Год назад +1

      The method that works for me is:
      Press & Hold “X Logo” + “PRO”
      Even when flashing keep those buttons held and then tap “RIGHT DIRECTION”
      Let go of all 3 inputs. Lights will still flash. Input “RIGHT DIRECTION” again. Lights will now stop. “PRO” should now function as R3.
      The latest models seem to have an extra step and it’s not expressed in the manual. But this method works for me.

    • @johnestacio9991
      @johnestacio9991 Год назад

      @@SaintChanchai Thanks for your advice!! Followed your instructions and yes I believe R3 is now mapped to the pro button, but the issue is it’s like the options/menu button (on the ps5 controller) is also mapped there.
      For example in the SF6 combo trials, when I hit the pro button, the pause menu pops up (With a ps5 pad when r3 is hit nothing happens). Same thing happens when I press the share button on my Victrix, the ps5 share screen appears but so does the pause menu. I know R3 is being input as I went into FIFA and tried pressing the pro button in the arena. The player action corresponding to R3 happens but also the pause menu in that game opens up as well. I don’t know, do you think this is an issue with my stick?

      You can change balltop on The Phreakmods Link and the Phreakmods Link Ex Groove.
      However, Victrix’s Link 2 cannot change the balltop because the way it maintains a consistent cylindrical shaft (no cone, no groove) is because the outer layer of the shaft goes up into a cavity in the balltop itself.

      The stick came with two levers. The pullout one and some other. The buttons were responsive. Now I noticed that it's a square gate. So moves were easier to pull off, but moves like qcb then hcf (KOF super motion) were not as easy. Sometimes QCF×2 wasn't smooth either. I'm not sure if the gate has anything to do with it or i need to acclimate myself to using a stick (for home).
      Overall, it's a great product. (Better be for the price) I was choosing between the Obsidian 2 and the Victrix Pro FS. I feel i made the right choice. I'm thinking of adding a LCD board and some buttons to it.
      Anyway to change the gate to something else?

    Hi wondering what korean levers fit on this lever I got myself one if possible wanted to know which one do fit

    • @SaintChanchai
      @SaintChanchai  2 года назад

      Great question! Most modern Korean Levers with a “SHORT COLLAR” (and NOT A FULL COLLAR”) should install easily in the Victrix Pro FS. A few details to know:
      A short collar is still a color. The Victrix Pro FS has a removable collar piece as long as it is a model with a touchpad.
      On the compartment door under the Victrix you’ll notice a rectangular sunken area on the inside of the door. This was made to give more space for more levers.
      You will need to get a 187 to 5-pin wire harness. You’ll want to check sites and videos online to wire the lever correctly.
      When looking at the underside of the Korean lever, if the microswitch on your left has its prong pointed up, then everything fits well in the Victrix and that prong will be given space by the notch in the Victrix.
      If the prong is pointed down, you might have to bend one of the ptongs to make everything fit and wired. It is totally okay and fine to bend a switch prong. This happens often.
      Hope this helps!

When you squeeze the clip you're releasing it and with the pull bam. I tried a tiny flat head and that damaged it a little more. What buttons should I get? For button removal, especially Sanwa, I love the Buttercade Snap Out tool. The difficulty I was referring to was how much of a clamp the connectors have on the prongs on the buttons, they do this to reduce the chance of accidental disconnect but boy, they are really clamped on 😂
      Beautiful alternatives to Gamerfinger Buttons…
      I personally love the Crown 202s and they come in sone really nice colors in a classy design. They are my favorite buttons because I like the hard feel and minor (slightly muted) clack sound.
      I still need to try Punk Workshop buttons but have only heard good things and they are very similar to Gamerfinger buttons.
      A really good match with Victrix because of the muted profile in sound (“thunk” sound) which should echo less and at a low register but also with beautiful and unique color and look-the Qanba Gravity KS buttons are a pretty solid choice.
      This is different from the standard original Quanba Gravity buttons which remind me a lot of Seimitsu’s standard buttons.
      I will be trying Seimitsu Holo buttons soon and will do a video eventually.

      @@valentinav.5868Great question!
      I think on the 12-button layout it should be no problem between screw in and snap in buttons.
      Crown-202s are Screw In buttons.
      There is a trick to installing screw in buttons in tight layouts (like Vewlix), and that is understanding that you can have overlap of the screw rings. One button will have the screw ring up to the panel, while the other will be clamping the button to the neighboring button’s screw ring.
      There is another trick for installing screw in buttons, especially gamerfinger buttons which have an octagon shape on the top-you can reverse screw by twisting the pushbutton while holding the screw ring still. This is especially useful when you have to overlap.
      Again, 12 button layout probably doesn’t have much crowding issues. At least if it us using 24mm buttons for action buttons.
