The one aspect that would make me try this over a Hitbox is the ample amount of space to rest the wrist. I didn't like how I was on the hard angle edge with Hitbox. Hopefully more companies make a larger design like this.
Mpress has more buttons, bigger menu buttons, and better location of menu buttons, for less money. It is nice to see a big company finally make a button box, however. I hope more do it.
They need to just make the bodies compatible with a stick, one of the button holes can easily be used for a stick especially if they want to keep cost up with the big body that isn’t needed for a lever less.
I like the wrist rest on my pearl hitbox. whenever I need to make a quick input my palms will naturally lift. when i do slides i will not rest my palms but in normal play the palms are sweaty... from resting on the panel
I have one of these too. My comments: Be aware!!: screw-in buttons DO NOT FIT in this controller. I tried to put Crown Samducksa screw-ins in this controller and they don't fit properly. The controller appears to only want snap-ins (there are little notches in the underside of the inside of the case for the tabs on snap-in buttons). Also, the company appears to have just used the extract same hinged door on the bottom as the stick version, leaving the totally useless plastic mold for an extra joystick, taking up MORE space in the already very limited space in the case. The company also ran wires right through the middle of the buttons, making changing them out way harder and nerve racking than it should be. Overall, great stick, def worth it. But, def some major room for improvements and a couple serious oversights (only fitting snap-ins, and the hinged door still having the extra joystick holder..... come on guys, y'all could have done better..... ). also waiting on a LED kit.
I’m not even that into fighting games but this high end hardware combined with the latest MK1 trailer has my attention. My order for the FS-12 has been placed. Thank you for the review. I look forward to getting whupped like a noob! Thank you for the detailed review and discussion! Edit: the FS-12 arrived and it’s a really gorgeous piece of equipment. Personally I don’t mind the long “shelf” below the buttons but I’m also still figuring out my favorite posture. The one issue I might have is the buttons are a little to firm and springy, which I think is either slowing me down or indicative of the need for me to strengthen my fingers! But I do love playing with this piece of gear.
I don't really think mortal kombat is a good game for a leverless controller, the main reason being that there is a dedicated block button, im not saying you can't do it, but blocking in mk with a hitbox is really hard, but props to you if you can get used to it

the controller for pianist. piano exercises will come in handy for the muscle memory for moves, and remove the awkwardness when you change from 1p to 2p area/position
The easiest way is actually 1. hold forward 2. hit down with left hand 3. hit up+punch with right hand This results in f, d/f, u/f+p which in SF5 counts as a DP
Hey, love your vids. Here's a question about accessibility when it comes to sticks in general. A while ago I noticed that I'm far more consistent with my right hand when it comes to motions but I find the idea of playing with crossed arms pretty unappealing. Since I'm not that deep in Arcade Stick manufacturers I wondered whether there's enough demand for people who would rather have the Stick and Buttons mirrored --- So stick on the right and buttons on the left --- or if you basically have to build your own in that case. And who knows, maybe you find this question interesting enough to consider it for a video. I'd love to hear your thoughts on it either way.
I have a Victrix Pro Limited Edition M Bison and it's the best stick I've ever used it's super comfortable and weighted but for a Leverless stick the Victrix body might not be the best option I agree since leverless sticks don't use a 🕹 you don't really need a big box, I am thinking on buying a slim Hitbox. The Leverless Victrix is not the best bet for comfort. If you plan to buy a Fightstick I would %100 recommend the Victrix Pro but if you're thinking on getting a Leverless stick don't get the Victrix Pro.
I have a few questions, so I recently bought the Victrix pro FS 12 as well and this is my first leverless stick and have not used any sticks extensive. However I came from PC gaming so thought the transition would be better plus I feel the lever is imprecise for me. I sort of got used to it now, however, I still need to get use to pinky and ring fingers movements, is there anything I can do for that. And my fingers cramp and so do my wrists a bit. Not sure if it's more a muscle memory thing similar to when I moved from console to PC and learned wasd, it hurt at first just for the motions but got used to it so it doesn't. Is that the same case? Or should I be hovering my hands the whole time over them like a piano? Is there a particular hand placement for hitbox controllers? Would it be possible for you to do a follow up in hand placement with hitbox style controllers and the Victrix? Sorry for the long comment
For the same price you can get a hitbox made by punk workshop (the people who made tokido's hitbox) still all metal, better button layout, mechanical switches not sanwa buttons, still can work on ps5, no ridiculous over sized case, magnetic assembly, way lighter / thinner / smaller in general, the switches are hot swappable, and it manages to have a L3 and R3 button.
@@硼化二氘离子 Was about the same at the time of the comment. That said there are still tons of options out there especially now that are cheaper than this. The Victrix FS12 is just a "luxury" arcade controller in the end.
There's a way around the warning for 3rd party controllers that are being used on the PS5. If you are using the Brook UFB inside your controller, add the UP5 PCB to it, update your firmware, and you shouldn't see that warning again. This is the only way around it for unlicensed controllers I'm aware of.
The same tactic of using the Brook UFB, adding the UP5 PCB and updating the Brook UFB now also works with the Blue Brook PS4 + Audio PCB. Feel free to use this as a cheaper alternative to UP5 + UFB. I wonder how many other PCBs they plan to make compatible with the UP5? Perhaps they will come up with a new UFB?
This is a real beauty of a controller but... Original was 350$ and now they are selling practically the same product, 50$ more! And the features they added in the new line in all honesty should have been there from the the first version, Especially with that price tag. So now, Pricier and still holds some really weird problems that the competition from last gen don't have. I bought my M.Bison special edition FS with that same price when they got on Amazon , As much as im loving it, I still pull up some of my other controllers because messing with the Victrix can be really "lacking".

@NihongoGamer doubt I'm gonna get a response on a video this old but I just got this stick from the video 【Victrix Pro FS-12】 and I noticed it only seem to have 2 socd cleaning modes and neither of them is last input wins, I was curious if you or anyone in your community would know if there was any way to change this so I can have last input wins (left+right=right or up+down=down) where it favors whatever the last input read was. I don’t think that’s an option. Depends on whether Victrix adds it in firmware and unless the CPT rules change it’s probably unlikely that they’d add it. If you really want to use the fs-12 though you can maybe mod in your own PCB but there’s not a lot of space inside for it.

Joycon is a bit of step down from a dpad because u can’t really roll around and hit diagonals as easily. But if the buttons were bigger and you can assign a separate finger to each button then yes, that would be better

@@BandaiSCUM Did you get the panel from arcade shock back when they had them? Been looking for one of those for a minute now..
@@na5312 hey man, yes I did.
You're the reason I picked up a V. ProFS back in 2018.. Amazing stick 🔥 ( and GamerFinger buttons lol)
Hey, is the usb c cable on yours extremly shaky too?
I don't really think mortal kombat is a good game for a leverless controller, the main reason being that there is a dedicated block button, im not saying you can't do it, but blocking in mk with a hitbox is really hard, but props to you if you can get used to it
@@vBrayden__ thanks for the heads up. I’ll bear that in mind. At least I’m enjoying the discovery of guilty gear strive. What a cool IP I never would have tried on a dual sense!

I hope Hori does one of these using the Alpha. This is definitely better options are good
with this i'm really hoping qanba tells arcade shock to help them bring back their hitbox obsidian again
When I saw that Qanba hitbox controller, that was a dream come true. I am so bummed I missed out on that. I couldn't agree more!
At the very least they should at give people the option to buy a conversion kit.
I have the pro fs Ryu edition, I love it. I ordered this bad boy today. can't wait to try it out.
I just got the universal sanwa etokki stick. Incredible. moddable and maintainable. Metal body. Awesome stick. So impressed. Well worth 270usd

I have the purple version. Installed gravity buttons rigjt away. and I got it days before tekken 8 came out and the purple paint is coming off where I lay my palms but it looks sick and I love it. No pain in fore arms once I broke my arms in

0:58 wow look at that hitbox layout is a little bit down right ? Maybe NihongoGamer Rest his hands on desk or something ? Nice sticks/stickless bro
@12:00
Man knows what he's talking about. Same is true for computer keyboards and pianos.
Hello,
I hope this quesrion finds you in an old video
With this leverless, can the buttons and switches be changed? Like when they inevitably die or need replacement, how easy is it to replace?
What kinda of button or switches work?
Thank you!
It fits standard Sanwa snap in buttons. If you can find buttons that shape with key switches inside then you can use whatever switch you want.
@@NihongoGamer thank you one more question. I currently have both the kitsune and the fs12 here. I like the way the buttons are closer together on the fs12.
I am mostly concerned about longetivity. I find both comfortable.
If you had to pick one, what would you pick? They are completely diff in some ways like the size and spacing of buttons. But my main thing is durability, replacement of buttons etc.
Any recommendations if price is not an object Between these 2?
I find both great just hard to settle on one
Not using mx style switches in that price range is honestly pretty bad.
Dont know why i would reccomend this over something like a snackbox or even a frame1 if one wants the all aluminium body
PS5 compatibility is a big one. Only this & the MPress work with PS5 without additional modding.
Got mine yesterday. Absolutely love the damn thing. Feels great and weighty compared to the fightbox i was using lol.
You convinced me to buy one, thanks. I have the purple one arriving in 2 business days
Good honest review. Appreciate the shortcut tips as well!
Your videos are always awesome and relaxing😊.
Ok, there´s Pro and Cons as always, the major thing in Europe is, we can´t purchase it. Only shipping to USA and Canada, for an official licensed product, ridiculous.
I grabbed one at pax this year, feels great to use. Recommend if you get one that you also grab some stickers cause there is so much open white space
This video is so sweet when you have the fs-12 in your hands. Kill mode
And I love my controller leveling up through the blue ranks in tekken 8
Buyers remorse much?
the controller for pianist. piano exercises will come in handy for the muscle memory for moves, and remove the awkwardness when you change from 1p to 2p area/position
Ive always used my thumb on my left hand for the up button since that is how i would use a spacebar on a keyboard
The most easy way to DP inputs are 1. hold down button, press forward X2 punch 2. While hold the forward button, 1 down and punch
The easiest way is actually
1. hold forward
2. hit down with left hand
3. hit up+punch with right hand
This results in f, d/f, u/f+p which in SF5 counts as a DP
the easiest way is to hold forward then tap down+punch. simpler and you do less inputs
my first thought went "this looks like a TVR Tuscan Cerbera Speed 12"...now I wish it had the same colouring options aswell
Was that the TVR with the holographic purple/green?
@@NihongoGamer yep
Are they nuts with this price? Sanwa 24mm buttons cost like nothing. It looks nice but for that price I could build 2 or 3 hitboxes.
You can order southpaw layouts from some custom case makers.
Whats up with these hitboxes and their insane pricing?
Is it possible to buy it in Japan? They don’t ship out of the US or Canada... maybe in EVO next year?
For the same price you can get a hitbox made by punk workshop (the people who made tokido's hitbox) still all metal, better button layout, mechanical switches not sanwa buttons, still can work on ps5, no ridiculous over sized case, magnetic assembly, way lighter / thinner / smaller in general, the switches are hot swappable, and it manages to have a L3 and R3 button.
not the same price, punk worshop is cheaper a lot (it’s about 250$)
@@硼化二氘离子 Was about the same at the time of the comment. That said there are still tons of options out there especially now that are cheaper than this. The Victrix FS12 is just a "luxury" arcade controller in the end.
@@DKarkarov yep,if only punk workshops were easily available in europe,i will chose it too. Fs12 is too expensive. And he use sanwa button😤
I can’t wait for Victrix Pro to release their Street Fighter VI Fight stick!
The price increase is the ps5 compatible pcb
The ps5 compatible victrix with a lever is 400 too
@@V2ULTRAKill my guy this is a 10 month old comment and you still failed to read it properly. Never once said the normal stick version costs different. I argued that the all hitbox version should cost less.
Now, Carry on.
@@zobinake it shouldnt cost less
Its a functional reskin of an existing product
There is absolutely zero reason to charge less when the total difference between a sanwa stick and 4 sanwa buttons is less than 10 dollars and it costs more in operations to cut 4 holes than one
@@V2ULTRAKill "total difference between a sanwa stick and 4 sanwa buttons is less then 10 dollars" Sheesh won't even bother 0_o

@NihongoGamer random question. Will you be purchasing Street Fighter 6 to test the Victrix Pro FS-12 on PS5 or PC?
Will definitely be purchasing sf6 yes
@@NihongoGamer perfect!
I just want them to use 30mm for the action buttons. Those 24mm buttons are too cramped. No one seems to be doing that. I have big hands.
30mm buttons are used on the MPress controller and many custom aftermarket plexis u can buy
Allfightsticks makes what you are looking for which is a shiokenstar layout. I use it on a custom hitbox and it's great.
Now do 'Geese's Rising Storm' from the right side of the arena in a combo using this few-button keyboard.
U just wanna see the world burn huh
Please still drop full video on gamer finger installment, just bought this stick and completely crushed at the Reddit talk over the modification flaws.
Depends if you're getting screw-ins or snap-ins from gamer fingers. Screw-ins are very difficult to install so I don't recommend you getting those. I installed a snap-in on mine, but it's not gamerfingers, I use Qanba Gravity KS and it's pretty much 1-1. The only difference is the octagonal design with gamerfingers.
Hello!
Appreciate your review on the Victrix Pro FS-12!
I am also looking to get the same exact one and do have Gamerfinger buttons waiting until my Victrix comes in.
I've heard a lot of clearance issues with screw in buttons for this hitbox unfortunately but seems like you are gonna make a video on the future with that.
I would like to see the follow up video from this seeing all screw in Gamerfinger buttons in if its possible.
Update: I purchased the Victrix Pro FS-12 and put all 12 Gamerfinger buttons in but it took quite some time to do so.
It's like a 3rd form Freeza Color scheme 👀
great review :D, how is it 5 months in?
Brilliant review, but question-- can the SOCD Scrubber be altered or is it stuck as is?
They really dropped the ball on the price. $400 is really unrealistic tbh I could buy 2 micros for that or another 2 Okiboards. It is a beautiful controller but for $400 I'll look in another direction if I ever need another arcade stick. Great vid like always Nihongo!
You’re mostly paying for the build quality (plus inflation).
@@Neoxon619 $400 for an all button controller is ridicules. hell $200 is insane
I want a 16 button version of this to come out.
what does hitbox have to do with the terms "arcade" and "stick"?!?!
That is pretty dope. 😮😮😮
Why dont just put 30mm as attack buttons, it is not like space is an issue.
Anyway love your content keep up the good work. Sorry to bother you with this.
I don’t think that’s an option. Depends on whether Victrix adds it in firmware and unless the CPT rules change it’s probably unlikely that they’d add it. If you really want to use the fs-12 though you can maybe mod in your own PCB but there’s not a lot of space inside for it.
Ah the cheatbox alternative
I hate the small button trend. For me, Mpress wins the all button wars with their full size button lay out.
Hello. Is it hard to replace the buttons in this thing? I can’t find any guides anywhere really. Some folks say it’s impossibly hard and others say it’s not bad.
Question can it move WASD to play Persona 5 or Yakuza Like a Dragon? Walk and pick up items?

just making sure, but are hit boxes just as legal as fight sticks? If I get one can I get used to it without worrying about a place not accepting it?
I don’t know of any events that don’t accept button box controllers as long as they abide by the evo socd cleaning rules
I've been interested but now, definitely
Ive never seen any tournaments banning hitbox. So u can invest on em. Especially now they become more popular than ever, and one of EVO sponsor.
Now many companies have all buttons stick too, eve official sony, which is owner of EVO, no way they will ban all button controller as they just made this victrix all button.
At most only daigo gafrobox banned in 1 event back then coz they were not sure about the ruling, then allowed after that.
@@invertbrid Daigo's Gafro box had multiple directional inputs. Think crossup without a stick. It also didn't have SOCD cleaning so you could throw sonic booms without ever letting go of back

Hello Nihongogamer. First of all, thank you very much for this fantastic review. I believe you are the only one who can solve the issue I'm experiencing. I want to connect Madcatz Tec2+ to the Nintendo Switch using Magic-NS. I managed to boot it up once a long time ago, but I forgot the button combination. Do you have any information on how to boot it up after making the connection? Thank you.
If this sold for $200 I'd definitely buy it but not for $400.
You literally cannot build a ps5 compatible leverless for 200 bucks or less, the pcbs alone will be 160+
Awesome video and review! Always look forward to get your opinions on the newest arcade sticks. I was wondering if you are still planning to do a modding video where you try to swap the buttons out of this controller? I've heard some mixed things about the modding experience since some screw-in buttons reportedly don't fit (something you eluded too in this video), so I would love to see your perspective on the modding situation with this stick. Big fan, thanks for all the amazing, fun content!
Yes! Been secretly hoping you would receive it and do a review. Kind request: Does it work with Steam Deck? Would love to see that addressed in one of your upcoming videos. Thank you 🙏

My vitrix comes in tomorrow but my buttons came in today that im going to swap out the black buttons with and bro the buttons (24mm and the 30mm) are so tiny I been watching all your vids and on camera they look so much bigger
All button inputs are more accurate than sticks? So Nintendo was actually on to something with the stock joycon and button dpad? Maybe if the buttons were closer together, like a hit box?
Joycon is a bit of step down from a dpad because u can’t really roll around and hit diagonals as easily. But if the buttons were bigger and you can assign a separate finger to each button then yes, that would be better
