This video was great! It looks like my theory was right on this fight stick in that the price point doesnt do it justice. This thing costs more than a VLX in most cases I hope they realize that this stick needs to come down in price as the custom options are not there. The stick looks great, but I dont like that i cant do a lot to it like most sticks (Qanba sticks, or TE sticks).
This video was really good and made me realise that i may not want to pic this figthstick becuase i really wanna be able to mod my stick for ages, but i wish u also touch a little bit on the performance, Input lag comparison with ur own board, becasue that may be a good selling point i may consider.

Have you taken this stick apart before? I have the V2 and need to replace the ribbon cable for the touchpad and buttons on top but it's out of warranty and PDP won't help me. Can't figure out how to get access to where the ribbon cable plugs in to the control panel
Little late but Qanba Obsidian (Viewlix layout) or Pearl (Noir layout) are easily moddable/upgradeable + they're readily available. Focus Attack even sells the mtal plates to convert the button layout on either model! I've been enjoying modding the shit outta my 2 Obsidian sticks. The Brook UFB EZ install kit by Jasen works great. I added the PS5 upgrade board, as well. Tested with Street Fighter 5 (PS4 Pro), Killer Instinct (XB1 S), and King of Fighters 15 (PS5).... works great on all 3 👍.
@@x64-v9t - Not likely due to the way they manufactured the stick and left such little room inside. Thanks for taking an in-depth look at this thing! I'm surprised the Infiltration lever fit the stick, you didn't mention if the latch could be closed with it installed or not. The infiltration lever is very tall, after all. Can you confirm this? Other points: - That price is utterly ridiculous, completely priced out of competition. - Those cable posts are indeed ugly, compare that to the extravagance of the Qanba Dragon. - Good, comfortable look, I personally prefer no plexi ridges on arcade sticks so that's great. - The "Link 2" being worse than the Phreak Mods original is pretty sad. - Moddability is poor and difficult.
I just opened mine up today to put in a new board, and theres a wire soldered to the pcb that connects to the casing. I didn't see it in yours, bit I'm guessing it's the ground wire? Anything i can do to get around it?
You can get circular gates, or Korean levers are gate free, but "feel" circular. Although, they don't use a spring for tension, so they do have a different feel
you got the 309MJ (mid collar) and the 301-DX (infiltration) mixed up... Infiltration lever has a bottom gate and taller body (which is why it wont fit), 309mj was the one that fit.
Is there anyway to simply change the balltop to the battop style easily? I hate how it but don't see how I can easily change it still using the quick release I love so much. HELP PLEASE 🙏
12:26 It's not an official Vewlix layout then because i can fit screw in seimitsu PS-14-GN buttons on my Taito VEWLIX C cabinet just fine. Victrix must have some kind of deal with Sanwa because Seimitsu parts don't fit :) And it's a 350$ stick that has less compatibility than any cheap stick. And pretty much any arcade stick since Sega Saturn has great compatibility with joysticks and buttons.
2:45 I wish all fight sticks came with a 6 button Vewlix / Noire layout. How many fighting games / arcade style games need the extra two buttons so they are only in the way and make it look less of an authentic arcade experience.
I forget if this was asked before, but there is a possibility of having a switch between X-box one & PS4 on the PCB? I know there no EZ mod for it, but I hope there is in the future because the brook usb Converters don't work.

Serious question, is that small difference in distance really that much of a big deal, is it really just preference, or do you just have really large hands and it's actually a comfort issue for you? I'm not trying to be an ass i'm just wondering because i have tried almost every layout there is and i don't find any difference in comfort and my ability to play was never affected. However, i have rather small hands, so it might be something that i wouldn't be able to notice because of the size of my hands.
Namco Noir Layout uses Sega’s 1P button layout but the lever is spaced a little bit further away from the buttons. Vewlix has Sega’s spacing but it uses a slightly modified Sega 2P button layout. I’ve played Tekken 7 in Japan on Noir cabs since its release in 2015, and was lucky enough to get the Noir panel for my customized TE2.
@@Allocution_TK is it unplayable? No, absolutely not, but I like resting my fingers just above the buttons... Going from a noir layout to a Viewlix layout is definitely noticeable and it's definitely a lot less comfortable, in my opinion anyway. Like I said, it's not rendered unplayable, but like... Why. Our hands naturally "fit" to the noir layout, so why use the Viewlix? Especially for a stick that brags about comfortability. Just my opinion, idk

EXCELLENT video as always. That said, this confirms my suspicions about this thing being a overpriced piece of style-over-substance. For that kinda money, I could get an even nicer Panzer / AFS / Omni or just build something myself just as good for way cheaper.

No special balltop required when you use with one of these: jasenscustoms.com/collections/phreakmod-link-shafts/products/phreakmods-the-link-detachable-joystick
The Link2 they use slides the entire collar up and it slides into the ball top so it can detach. The original Link by Phreakmods does't require this.
