    There's no denying the rear is the weakest part of the vehicle, but it's still nice, it's just that the rest of it is gorgeous, especially in that Matte Copper colour.
    Seriously Hyundai/Genesis have become my favourite Asian automaker. Their cars are gorgeous. Never thought I'd say that about a Korean brand.

      They did it to maximize practicality of the rear, so I don’t mind it if the back is functional. 😊

      The back is actually my fav part, it the front that I don’t like, and it looks low, I bought the limited trim and honestly the back looks good in person the front look very squished down to me honestly

      I was going to say - the trend, going on well over a decade now amongst many brands, of zero semblance of a protective bumper front and rear is bothersome. (The rear on this would seem to be an extreme example of that). The most minor fender bender and parking lot scrapes, especially what with all the sensors = $$$.

    17:00 Dude they cant put the kitchen sink into that car like Range Rover did because of the delta in asking price. They left out some stuff. Suspension is a big one. You always pay more for that. Same for motos. You have to pay for the higher trim to get Ohlins... which i loooooove. 🥰

    I don't know much about Hyundai and their reliability but this car does show a heck of a lot of attention to to detail. Hyundai really took the time to focus on the small stuff. Individually its not that much of a big deal, but collective it make this car in many way more coveted than its luxury rival.
    The cubbies for example. You can never have too many of them especially in an SUV, where 'utility' is paramount. The way the center console can open from the front or rear, and the tray at the bottom for rear seat passengers is an ingenious design.
    Then there's not only a temperate control for the 3rd-row but a fan control. That's a big deal when you're relocated to steerage and the front and center passenger are blocking all the air flow to back. You no longer have to roast while you wait for the cabin to cool down.
    Second, the ability to raid the thigh support even on the second row where car manufactures start to cut costs and comfort. The only interior I'd add would have been a cover for the center console. That large area will tend to trap dust and debris after a time. The cover also protects your phone or other items from prying eyes. I agree with the polarizing rear-end. The brake and signal lights should never be below the belt-line.

    Great, in depth review, as usual. Too chiseled for my taste. The rear end smacks of the bad design cues from a Carnival. The dog bone tail lights need to go as well.

    Xrt without dct needs to be better spec'd on the inside. Maybe next year HMG. I need 360 surround cameras. Or merge the Calligraphy interiors features with the XRT mechanicals. I'll buy it😊

      @@MrTeslaXit's the non-dct transmission, higher tow rating, and yes, 18 inch rims. I don't care about exterior aesthetics. Other than mechanical fundamentals fine right, the xrt is absolutely bare bones and disappointing.

    Santa Fe didn’t need to become 3-rows. That’s what the Palisade is for. Why make it so big and so unattractive from the rear view. Otherwise it’s a nice looking boxy people hauler. Hyundai and Kia giving consumers a lot for their money and a great warranty to boot. The (former?) sister Kia Sorento I guess is on its own now since it didn’t get the larger redo.

    • @donlavette7523

      @@donlavette7523 it’s barely a 3 row…had one…Santa Fe is longer and has more cargo space. Different packaging. The prior model was more like the Sorento. This one…Range Rover Discovery for half the price.

    • @springertube
      @springertube 6 месяцев назад +4

      You and @donlavette7523 are both right. The Sorento is within an inch. What Hyundai has done is basically fill the tweener niche by matching its corporate stablemate again with an occasional use third row offering. I think there initially may be some head scratching amongst buyers on the dealer's lots, but the Palisade / Telluride twins are still a full step larger than this, some 7-8 inches in overall length, and 3-4 inches width, both of which is a fair amount in car-dom. A lot of the difference, both visceral and measureable, with the Santa Fe is packaging.

    • @MotoManTV
      @MotoManTV  6 месяцев назад +1

      Wheelbase is the same between the two. Length is practically the same mainly due to design details at each end.

      I'm actually purchasing a new car. Originally, just to look like shit. So I went out to all the luxury dealerships. Range rover, Ford broncos, lexus, modern trucks, BMW's, mercedes, etc.......Never expected to like hyundais interior better. For real man. it will change you. It definitely impacted my opinion when I drove it. It feels 2x more expensive than a land rover. Better functionality than BMWs and mercedes. I was impressed man. You should try driving one. the interior feels so much better once you are in one. But when you think about evaluation, in a 5 year period it'll lose 40% of its value. Best car devaluation is toyota tundra, modern upper trim, 30% loss, 61k. Toyota: %18,300 loss. Hyundai limited trim 46k: 18,400 loss. But considering many luxury vehicles are premium gas or 19mpg like trucks. With the hybrid model, you end up spending minimum $2k less per year on this car. In my don't give a shit what other think about the brand, I can confidently say, I liked the Hyundai interior the best, best hybrid luxury option. Its not meant to be a outright sold vehicle. More of a trade in or keep it for a long time. You're just not the right consumer for it and thats totally fine.
