Just wanted to say an enormous thank you for the video. Dropped my phone last week and broke the screen and digitiser. Local company told me they could replace it for £180. Saw your wonderfully detailled tutorial, bought a digitiser and screen myself for £40 and within 1hour I'd replaced the part. Now realised the ear speaker has gone and going to do that myself again with the help of the video. Really really am grateful for the time and effort you put into producing and editing the video close-ups. Many thanks, Andy
Review of this posting. 10 of 10 This is the highest review I have ever given. Video Production = 10/10/10. Camera is always on subject with good resolution, lighting, and focus. Excellent lighting without glare, shadows, or over-lighting. At times you do see the lighted magnifier he uses, but this is not a distraction. Script = 10. Covers all aspects of disassembly and assembly, including subtle parts and part disassembly when the new part doesn't come with all pieces needed. Presentation = 10. Clear concise use of the English language without slangs, so's,ahh's,, or repeating himself. Presentation speed is perfect, though it does require pausing at times. Also no editorializing of non related issues. Extra notes: A "Skip Ahead" Button and time logs are provided so you can just review the portion you want. One thing that ruins almost all other videos is the producer thinking that some lame or porno film music makes it better. This is presented without background music. An enhancement I have never seen before is the author placed small dabs of White Out at the locations where the case snaps together to help you figure out where to unsnap the case when disassembling. This is an invaluable feature he added. I have repaired numerous Cell Phones and gone through perhaps over 100 videos of tear-downs and never seen a production of this quality. In this case, I was actually fixing my wife's' phone and she commented that she could have followed these instructions and fixed it herself. Thank you for this video and I was easily able to fix my wife's phone with surprises. CBA
You saved my phone!!! Thank you!! I've never done anything like this before!! I replaced the screen and digitizer which required an entire breakdown!! You made it EASY!!!!
Thumbs up if you agree this is, by far, the most detailed and helpful teardown ever. Thanks a lot! I appreciate your patience in describing every piece. Learned a lot.
Great videos. Clearly filmed, ultra clear instruction and NO stupid background music. A LE55ON to all the RUclips video makers!! Hope you start uploading more soon....
Man! I thought I was finished, I broke my Samsung Galaxy mega screen and almost had to pay a lot of money to get the screen replaced, until I came a crossed this video. I had a spare one that my daughter played with cause I got a new one and I took that phone and took the screen off of it by following the video step by step. The only thing I had for heat was a blow dryer it worked! Thanks a lot, you saved me money!
Best Video I've seen on the Mega, complete Disassembly and Rebuild. Excellent detail, not rushed and no steps skipped. Was able to replace my broken lcd/digitizer with frame. Thank you!!!!
Thank you for the video! I recently opened my own computer repair shop and have apparently turned into the only person in my area willing to fix phones and tablets. These types of movies definitely help, and this one saved my bacon (doing my first Mega LCD swap). Thank you again!
I come to youtube for all kinds of "how to's" and this is by far, the best how to video I have ever seen. Tthe camera guy did an excellent job and the repair guy AWESOME. Ordered my screen and waiting for it to come in, have 2 broken galaxies, just hope that the screen is all that is broken cause the phone sure is behaving oddly now.
My screen was cracked and hard to use. Now have 2 of these phones both got cracked. Just fixed the first one tonight as the first screen replacement was bad. Now my phone is prefect and working thanks to your video!!!!
***** Seems there is a dim bug on some of these repalcement screens, Anyway, both are fully functional thanks to your video. I downloaded an app called brightness level for the phone with the dim bug and keep it down below 70%. Now I have a another question for you. What does this code mean? *#*#4636#*#*. I did this and now when I touch the screen, I am drawing lines everywhere and there is a new bar at the top showing P.0/1 dx 442.0 Xv 2.262 Yv 0.335 Ys 1.0 Sixe: .07. Each of these is it a colored box, red then white. I just want to know how to turn this off so when I touch the screen I am not drawing on it. Is there a site that has a list of these commands? Thanks in advance
***** Now I am have a new question and so far, you seem to be the ONLY INTELLIGENT person regarding this phone. An OS update occurred this evening and when this was complete, the touch screen did not recognize my touching it, so now the phone is useless. I was told by Samsung techs to factory reset the phone which I did. Still no touch ability. So now I have a very expensive little paper weight. Any suggestions? I was told to get it flashed at a BestBuy store that has the Samsung experience.
Janelle Wolves You could try flashing yourself using a program named odin, its possible the new update is not compatible with the replacement screen. But don't give up, try different firmwares and you should find one that works. There's plenty of 'how to' videos on flashing a stock or custom rom. Once you've done it a few times you'll find it easy..
I CONGRATULATE YOU FOR THIS SO HIGH QUALITY LESSON VIDEO, IT WAS SO SATISFAYING FOLLOWING YOU; AND AT THE END FINISHING WITH A NEW WORKING SCREEN FOR MY OLD GALAXY MEGA (wich I love it !!), I FELT MYSELF LIKE I CAN DO ANYTHING NOW. THANK YOU VERY MUCH MY FRIEND, THANKS TO YOUR PROFFESIONAL TEACHINGS, AND TO YOUR TEN OUT OF TEN VIDEO; EVERYTHING WAS SO CLEAR AND HONESTLY SAYING THE TRUTH, THE BEST VIDEO I'VE EVER SEEN !! PLEASE, KEEP THE SAME ON YOUR NEXTS VIDEOS. I SALUTE YOU !!
When I first saw the Galaxy Mega, I thought it was entirely too big, however I like the fact that it's very serviceable and looks like a well thought out design. Thanks for the fantastic tutorial! Cheers!
Thank you for not just for an extremely clear and easy to follow video but more important in giving me the confidence to try the repair. I successfully replaced the USB socket/microphone module. With your video in front of me I felt as if I had an expert sitting next to me guiding me through the job. Thanks again, Harry
Your video is very good indeed! Following your instructions I could replace the LCD on a Galaxy W I8150. I have this Mega 6.3 and I can say that it is very good cell phone. I just hope I never need to repair it because the process seems a bit more complex than i8150. But nothing impossible, with your help. A hug and thanks for posting your great videos!!
Hi, I just wanted to Respectfully Thank You For Taking The Time Out Of Your Life To Provide This Fully Thorough Video/Demonstration, Which Came Off With Such Great Clarity, Both In Sound And Detail. You really helped me through a tough time, And When It Came Down To The LCD Screen Repair, I Felt Like It Was Me And You In This Thing Together LOL! I Actually Learned And Experienced More Than I Expected To, And I Really Appreciate You And I Hope You Can Experience The Gratitude That I Have Gotten (From Your Video Here) From Something You May Need Help With RUclips. Thanks Again Man. You Really Did A Great Job Guy. I Appreciate You.
Nice video, thanks. Only thing I'd add if your reading this post before you attempt to replace yours is to be very careful when putting the back cover on (the piece that gets screwed down, not the outer shell), don't push too hard on the glass trying to get it to snap back into place. I managed to crack my new glass when trying to get it to snap.
I Watched this video and Fixing my Galaxy Mega 6.3 Was a success! THANK YOU.! P.S I ordered a replacement screen with the frame to save the trouble with the blow drying and removing the screen.
Thank you for the very informative video! It made swapping out my dock a snap. Knocked out both my wife's phone and mine in under an hour. No speed demon, but not bad for reading glasses and arthritic hands! It also helps immensely to have the proper tools.
thanks for the vid. Used it as a manual for teardown and replacement of the charging port. Worked perfectly and saved me between $50 and $500 (If I were to replace the whole phone). If anyone is having issues with their USB plug not working correctly anymore, charging port subassemblies are only $6-8 on ebay and are not at all difficult to change out.
I just like to say thank u to the guy or person that did this video it really worked good I just used it to replace mine an now my phone works just fine so thankful saved me 200.00 on getting it fixed.thanks so much
great video! I, like Roland, below; was also able to repair my phone. Excellent instruction. The video quality was way above average especially regarding focus, and close-ups. Not only that but the audio was clear and understandable, no distracting background noise, etc. I especially liked learning about what and where the various components were and their function!
Watched this video to see how to change my lens on my camera. It had a terrible smudge on the outside that made my pictures all blurry! This was super easy!!
Real good, straight to the point, and very informative mate, a breath of fresh air in comparison waffling americans who use half an hour just to get the back cover off, with screwdriver, a plastic knife, summat pointed and nail clipper carefully and good old common sense proffesionally, top notch mate :)
Hello, you're making the most useful videos on this site, thank you.. In a non related context, i speak the American accent but interested in yours, what exactly is it?, i mean, i have a friend from London, but his accent is very strong, i can't even mimic it, yours is soft, clean and easy to understand.. Thank you again..
Although I was born in Chicago Illinois I grew up 30 miles south of London, I'm not sure what you would call my accent. I've been trying to improve the clarity of my speech ever since listening to my first video. I try not to mix or mash my words so more people can understand me...
REALLY? I didn't know that those batteries have the NFC antenna! Thank you for sharing knowledge! That's totally new for me. Thinking about it, it does have a lot of sense! Also, your vids look professional. Thanks for the high quality too.
Your "how to" videos are the best on the net! Thanks to you I have the confidence to fix my phone myself, instead of letting it be repaired. Just one question though, do you have any idea whereas the screenprotection is Gorilla Glass or another brand? I've seached everywhere without any luck.. I'd just like to know if I need a screenprotector or not. My Galaxy Note 1 had Gorilla Glass and no schratches at all after one and half year of usage, without a screenprotector. Many thanks in advance!
Its very hard to tell if a compatible screen is using Gorilla glass without actually trying to scratch it. The only way to be 100% sure is to buy a genuine oem screen. The only company I know and trust is www.etradesupply.com . If it says 'OEM' then it really is. I've done a deal with them so you can use coupon code ETS2 for a little discount which also gives me credit..
AWESOME vid. the fact that you go in close and actually SHOW where to place the picks to ply things open is like an answered prayer from so many other tutorial vids. However... the only REAL thing i was hoping to get out of this video was the dis-assembly of the digitizer from the lcd, Literally, the ONLY thing you didn't do! aaarrrrgg!!!!
I've tried shooting a 'glass only' replacement but without using optical adhesive the results are not perfect as dust enters the air gap over time, but its certainly cheaper if your on a budget..
Thank you for this - my boss often throws things at me that I've never done before & says to "just have a look online" lol - so thank you very much~ :)
you have the best videos out there. The most thorough and detailed. Thank You for all of your support. I would like to donate a few dollars in appreciation. where can I do that. Thank You
Great video, but I don't recommend pulling the LEDs near the home button the way pictured in the video 16:30 - 16:45. It's too easy to tear the ribbon cable. Use a wooden toothpick or a plastic pick to separate it from the glass.
Amazing video. So well detailed for every little part. Thanks so much for your kind contribution to the youtube community. I came here because my Samsung Galaxy Mega i527 began to show a vertical line from top to bottom on the right side. Unfortunately there is no website or video explaining this problem. This video is the closest most informative I found with LCS faulty screens. Has anyone experienced my problem too? Is it really a problem with the LCS screen and Digitizer Assembly and therefore these parts need to be replaced? Or maybe my type of problem can be fixed with a factory reset or some software flash? I'll appreciate any orientation on this matter. I bought this phone on Ebay back in March, so I'm assuming it is still under warranty and Samsung will fix/replace the unit. Cheers
You can buy just the glass for £9 on Amazon so why was I quoted £100 for just the glass with no guarantee it would work, I would have to purchase the LCD if it went wrong??? This awesome video gave me the confidence to have ago myself, admittedly I bought the complete front unit so no heat gun needed but even so it was only £80 and it's perfect now. If that still sounds a lot you will see online quotes for £189 and I bet they still glue the glass and LCD in your existing front unit for that.
Hello again, Have you any videos for ITABs? I have a friend who has cracked an old IPad screen and am recommending you to him so I was checking to see if you have videos on on replacing the screen on an IPad, sine you do the best videos I have ever seen
hello, very good video. I am replacing the "screen digitizer" on mine would you have a video on how to do that, or could you give me a few tips on how to. thank you. have a merry Christmas. "god bless" ben..
what are those golden looking clips for next to the vibration thing or speaker on top left ? Bought a used mega and its missing those golden things where housing connects to ? if u paused at 30:43
I have one of these that does not have the home button in place. would I need to take the screen off to put one in or can I just put one on with some adhesive while the screen is attached?
my megs had 3 new screens had a quote and they wanted 190 for it to be done, anyways lol im now back on my 4th screen and doing it all by myself pretty straight forward thank you for the video its now in my favourites lol
hi, the best info that i have saw was on Volt Daddy (i did a google) Gotta be the most detailed info on batteries and this same stuff that i have found.
Hi, I was wondering if you know whether the Galaxy S4 camera will fit correctly inside the Galaxy Mega 6.3? I want to upgrade the camera on the Mega 6.3 to a better camera like the one on the S4 or S5 but do you know if the connector ribbon is the same?
quick question. can you "short" the power button to turn this device on? so short the contacts from the power button with a wire. or will that damage the phone? thanks so much for the video!
First I would like to say thank you for this detail explanation. I need your help if you are still active in this job. so let me know your confirmation then I would explain detail of my galaxy mega problem. thanks
Good video my i do it my self to mega samsung 6.3 metro only problem put together i no want on put the bottom to on no do nothing only i put the chager the battery start chager i know cant be the screen coming damage othe fraim you thind can be the bottom to of and on the phone thank you

Perfect videos dont change anything. No background music or excessive beginning trailer just peacefully silence and simple instruction. Perfect
The sound of the materials makes me fall asleep. Sounds so peaceful & sleepy.

Also, your vids look professional. Thanks for the high quality too.
Very good on your video, sound, lighting quality. Excellent!

I just fixed my LCD screen according to your video!!! Thank you so much!~~!!
cool, now try not to drop it again :-)
thank you for your video, I had to change the screen and now its working great your video was easy and right to the point!!! thanks again
Your "how to" videos are the best on the net! Thanks to you I have the confidence to fix my phone myself, instead of letting it be repaired.

thank you great work... the small details are key to make it happend... Muchas Gracias...
I fix the gt i9205 screen with your step by step video !!! Thanks for that" great job !!!!
excellent guide, thumbs up! I wish I had steady hands as you have in this video. When I'm disassembling a phone my hands are as shaky as hell :D
I've tried shooting a 'glass only' replacement but without using optical adhesive the results are not perfect as dust enters the air gap over time, but its certainly cheaper if your on a budget..
any luck with that video?
edgar garcia not had any free time for the last few weeks, work has really picked up so I don't have much free time..
wasn't looking for the assembly of the optical adhesive; i was wanting the SAFE seperation of the digitzer without destroying the lcd in the process.
Thank you for this - my boss often throws things at me that I've never done before & says to "just have a look online" lol - so thank you very much~ :)
this video helped an lot was able to do it my self in 45 min
Such a great video... watching this in my huge phone galaxy mega
you have the best videos out there. The most thorough and detailed. Thank You for all of your support. I would like to donate a few dollars in appreciation. where can I do that. Thank You

Thanks a lot for your wonderful video, it helped me a lot repairing my Samsung Galaxy Mega :)
Another great informative video. I Enjoy Watching Your Videos .
Thank you very much for video. I very much waited for it. Good luck to you in everything.
Great video, but I don't recommend pulling the LEDs near the home button the way pictured in the video 16:30 - 16:45. It's too easy to tear the ribbon cable. Use a wooden toothpick or a plastic pick to separate it from the glass.
Good tip thanks, I might use that in the future :-)
I did exactly that, tore the $13 ribbon cable. lol
Great video thanks to your video, I was able to fix my phone!! THE BEST!!

Great video thank you. My only problem is my home keys aren't working. what should I check?
Wow this is a nice video.
I need to know whats wrong with mine. I fully charged it, restarted it and never turned on.
