I owned two of these babies... 84 half ton.. ... 87 3/4 ton. Both had diesels with the 87 turbocharged. Rock guard the fuel tanks as salt and rocks will pound them until they start to leak
People on here talk a lot of trash and probably don't have a truck or even more a older truck....lmao.. Good work on the truck guys keep it. (85 k10 silverado guy here)
All things considered it is a nice truck, but they have got to do the preventative maintenance. I found a good and cheap way to keep the floors dry in the cab. Just save old newspapers or even cardboard will do, and put some 'fresh/dry' one's under the mats each day. It won't take long and the floors will be dry. But you have to change them every day, especially in wet and snow weather.
Hello TFL Crew, Don’t know if you saw this and/or made a video about it but in the 2018 F-150 owner’s manual page’s 297-298 it lists the 3.0L Lion Diesel maximum GCRW at 17,100 and only available on the Super Crew configuration. PS love the content and the channel keep up the good work.
Not to nit-pick, but your stereo is on Demo Mode. If you daily the truck, that is annoying. However, like you, I just want to drive that beast. To hell with the stereo. Either way, you can Google how to shut off Demo Mode so you can at least use the stereo properly. Love your videos.
Until not too long ago I was driving a 1986 C30 dually with a flatbed. It had the original 292 straight six engine and the same transmission as big green which means it was slow as f**k but I love it it was a fun truck to drive!. And mine was in very rough shape but I never complain about it. By the way, that truck was my daily driver not a toy for the weekends.
Good to see Big Green still truckin' on. You're not going to like that black vinyl seat in the summer, though. Get a saddle-blanket style seat cover for it. ;)
Too much moisture underneath that bed mat. I'd just take the mat out unless you are on your way to pick up a load of rocks. Use it only when you need it. Save that bed!
I noticed that too,...they need to get rid of that mat ASAP, and then apply a coat of bed liner. Something like when water get's under the floor mats too,..if you don't dry those out, 'good bye floors' too.
No speed shifting a SM465, then again they are pretty bulletproof and last a long time! Couple of square body notes, you could get factory tachs in them on the higher trim levels, not so sure about the Custom, which I believe that one to be. They changed the design of the hood hinges with the revised front clip. The earlier round headlight (and even '80 square) had the old hinge/spring combo that would be stubborn and bend the hood where, rumor has it, the hood was designed to taco in a front impact. I still think you should do some kinda deal with ORD, unless they are just not interested. It would really change the comfort level and add some off-road flex.
The subject matter was excellent. The pregnant silent film segment starting at about the 5:30 time was not interesting. It could have been broken up by cut ins of other features of the truck. Thanks for the ride.
We are car enthusiasts. Next time plz put your foot into it 90% of the time and drive like an old ladie just 10% of the time, not the other way around like in this video.
where did you guys get all the parts. Like the new grill and new bumper.
The quarter window vents and manual footwell vents in this era were great. I miss those.

love the 1st person test drive and the in depth tour. Would love to see the same with the Scout!
Sounds like an exhaust leak developed!

is it me, or does it sound like it has an exhaust leak?
I think it does. Manifold or header at engine IMHO.
Definately.
aristein88 it just sound like every chevy 350 from the factory.
That is definitely an exhaust leak.
Yes, the header has an exhaust leak.
How much would y’all sell that truck to someone in Texas for?
Daniel Rocha-Garcia The truck is very important to their show.... they are not going to sell it to your cheap ass.
The nice thing about this truck is the hood isn’t like every other K10 from people just slamming the hoods
But i guess you could just buy reproduction and fix that

It should have plenty of power with that new Motor and Fuel I iInjection.

Needs Primus ... Winona’s Big Brown Beaver playing in the background
Do you guys sleep ? LoL. So many videos at so early hours.
Me. Starting up my truck.
Karen. Your trucks to loud
I thought you were in LA

Great suggestion and will do
Oh the old day's.
Why didn’t you have painted silver like the original
I miss mine so much
A 3inch straight pipe on that truck would have been awesome!

Absolutely right. That leads to rust

Would love to own one. Or a k5
Clean that glass Tommy! :)

It would be nice to “give it the beans” a little more often and to give a little more driving impressions while on the road.
sand down that paint bubbling and put some por-15 over that rust to stop it you could probably fix it for less than $50
por-15 will negate the rust so that it can't spread any further, protecting the rest of the body panel

Square key cause its a squarebody nice
You guys gonna pull the dash now that you addressed most of the other stuff?
First the cheap lift and poor suspension. That’s next.
I have a set of cherry bomb glass packs if you want them
Thanks. We may need some for the H2
Lol I think Ole green would sound great
TFLnow send an address to ship it to
No tach on a manual? WTF?
fix your exhaust leak......
back in 1985 we could still get a 460, 400 or 300 cubic inch engine in a ford f250(plus other weak v8 motors)...chevy was cheap plastic crap back then
These ppl are liars scammers
