Here is my comment. Captain Chris your videos are fantastic. You really opened my eyes into the realities of the used sailboat world. Thanks for making all of these recent vids! They are exactly what I need to see. Plus I love your dry sense of humor! Cheers. Jerry
Chris, glad to have you back from that desert state visit. Hope you still have all your money more importantly it’s nice to see all the action you’re posting the last week. Thanks for your efforts.
Love the Hunter 39. Its completely upgraded with spacious interior. Great for a fat man, very comfortable. I think a few photos got mixed in. I think the 39's are all dual helm
Not only explaining why selecting each vessel, for true and actual usage for the buyer. Showing live and alongside you. This way you can get on that phone , tablet or second screen and look alongside by yourself. giving knowledge and tools to get properly along the path. (disclaimer : may offend occasional Potato for brains, or bathtub sailors that resemble rubber duckies)
Loved this video. I believe that a lot of the earlier boats in the video were all "AS IS" coming out of charter (like the 469 and 479 for around $115K,,, I want underwater lighting (my GF likes to swim after dark :) )
Nice Video, THANKS ..I suppose these 40-49 footers could be single handed with a furling mainsail, and maybe without a furling system? Not sure, I've never been sailing, but want to one day
Yes, up to 50 you can solo as long as you've got a bow thruster you will be fine , docking will require calling ahead amd having helpers come great lines
Hi Chris. My cruising ground will be the Med. I am a couple years out. I would guess most of your clients are looking at the Caribbean. Do you also work with Med-bound customers? Thanks!
Wife and I are looking to sail a fair bit when we retire. Just island hopping and maybe living on shore for several weeks or months between hops. Both of us are out of shape. Sounds like an in mast main would be the way to go. What do you think about self tacking jibs?
I would wait a year or two before purchasing a boat right now. The prices on quality used sailboats have dropped substantially, and they haven't found the bottom yet. Waiting a year could save several thousands of dollars.
Can you make a video on boat delivery. (Cost/Viable distances) I live in California and boat prices out here are insane compared to the rest of the world. What would be the cost to get a East Coast/Bahamas boat to the West Coast. Or boats from Central/South America to California? Anyway, I thought you would be the best person to make such a video. Thanks in advance.
These look nice in the 120-130K range. Unfortunately, you can't find these prices on the West Coast. I'm trying to weigh the cost/hassle of having one skippered up to SF vs just paying West Coast prices. It seems that comparable boats on the West Coast are 60K or more higher for the same size boat.
go to the home page for this channel. not to long ago, he has vids starting at 50k. in reality, he starts at 40k ... check em out. knowledge applicable, yet you'll see the trend of specific models that hit the mark. only a few. happy hunting
This is my comment. I am going to sell my house and transition to full time living on a sailboat. I will hire you to help me figure out how to not be a potato. Waiting till the end of the year, will look to buy the boat in the first half of 2025. God help me
I'm with ya! House is up for sail and looking for a boat in French Polynesia, Fiji, to start my journey. Love this channel but shit we all can't afford 10year old boats he does make a common sense point. Good luck!!
Can one share a boat survey with others? Not that I would buy a boat without my own survey but suppose I have one done, reject the boat and find (say 6 mo.) later someone else is looking at the boat. Not to say the 'problems; may have been fixed, but can I share it. Of course the prospect should not trust mine, but it might get them pointed to 'old' problems.
Your info is great im a new sailor and i find your info helpful, i am going to buy your stuff. I do need your help and id even hire you if you would be willing to teach. Im not a millionaire hence why im getting a boat.
@ChasingLatitudes that's amazing my wife is extremely happy and grateful as well. Give me a few weeks to purchase your stuff on website. BTW my name is Daniel
I thought you were being sarcastic about the lights on the Hunter. It does look cool. To confirm, you do actually like them? I would imagine that it involves drilling holes in the bottom although I suppose not one where there is a big risk of a catastrophic water leak.
@@ChasingLatitudes and I would need another thousand for you to look at them with me. At this point, I can't imagine not getting you involved in the boat purchasing process.
@@pittsreport unless you can go see the same makes and models closer to your home, then you can settle on a make and model and only need to see one boat via traveling
Chris's videos are INVALUABLE in finding a good boat for starting your adventures!!
Succinct and accurate assessment good sir!

Great to hear!
I really appreciate what you put into your videos. Thank you!!!!
thank you so much
Keep going Chris, your getting into my price range. Like to hear about all the different boats. The good and the bad.
That's the plan!
Sr.Chris, thank you for your time, wisdom and humor .
The 'light up the bottom of your boat' rant is my favorite so far.
HAHAH, I should make a compilation of me losing my mind while boat shopping
I died lololol

That Hunter 39 was dual helm. You saw it in like 3 exterior pictures. The pic of the binnacle from inside had to have been a different boat.

@stephanevilleneuve1762 absolutely, just helped a client with a cycledes 39 in Greece

It would never make sense from there, you can assume 150 nm covered per day at 500 a day for a capt
Thank you captain. Great videos. Keep em coming.

That would be epic

The details for the Hunter says dual helm. That photo of the single helm must have been an error
