Farm Aid was started by Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp in 1985 to keep family farmers on the land and has worked since then to make sure everyone has access to good food from family farmers. Tell me about it, i was watching Smallville and there is an episode with him and the guy who played luke duke. They make several references to the dukes of hazard. I looked him up and realized he was bo duke and found his songs. Talk about a shock

I remember when I was a little girl he was at the Oregon State Fair in Salem Oregon and my mom & dad took me to see him at the concert he put on there that year and I got away from them And i got to the stage and he picked me up and song with me on his knee.... that's one thing I will never forget...

This song use to come on every morning when it came out on the radio we had set to alarm! My husband would sing that before we got up with the radio. He's gone now since December, 2015 and this is the first time I've played it. Couldn't listen to it all, it broke my heart! But I love the song and John Schneider ( who is now on Have and Have Nots"

I came over here looking for a recording of John Schneider's singing voice (I love his voice as an actor) and I'm chuffed. I had never heard of Farm Aid before but that's just the kind of charity I would love to support. I've been looking to source my meat from small farmers (rather than from the supermarket) from a couple of years now (I follow a Paleo-ish diet - with cheese!) but the farmer I'd found a couple of years ago for lamb, hogget and mutton meat went bust. I just wish there were more of us who tried to source their meat, eggs, dairy products, fruit and veggies locally, or with as short a delivery chain as possible (for example, buying your cheese and butter from an independent cheese shop which buys it directly from the producers). I now buy cheese online (either from the farmers themselves or from an intermediary) as often as possible, but other food products are still an issue...
