26# sprigs come stock the stock flywheel is good for 7k the stock Tillotson 212E performs better stock than whatever the hell he did to it then make it run like crap😂
I just have to say that this frame style is my favorite. You can run them in stock form and stretch it as you get faster. Love the tank inside frame design, just seams to be well thought out. Great video too, keep them coming Black!! Oh yea change the springs, it has some more speed left on the table for sure
Hey black make sure you check the intake valvespring height if you havnt already!? Many were machined too deep causing seat pressure to be way low on the intake only. GPS makes a set of springs to cure that or have a machine shop make you a shim was what i did. Around .090" thick is what mine took fyi. The stock springs are actually 26 lbs like the advertise so that should be good. I run a 265 cam in mine and rev the crap out of it without float hahahah!
Cant wait to see what she takes!? I ran my stock rod alot and never windowed the block, but i eventually put a billet one in lol. Cant thank you enough for all the awesome videos that have helped me relive my childhood with my boys and their bikes!@@Black66
@@daltonstockton2799 could be? but when i went to change out mine on my tilly 212 they felt pretty stiff and identical to the new 26lb ones i had in my hand so i left them on and have since run it up well over 7k with a 265 cam with no issues. stock predator springs are weak though i know for sure.
Really great content! Be careful! If that stock rod let's loose at 55+ mph you may get sprayed with scalding hot oil and/or lose traction from oil on tires.
I have a Predator with 26lb springs and mod 2 with 1.3 rocker arms. It’ll turn 7500 all day long. The Tillotson valves are really long, like over 3”. You can shim up the springs and get more out of them. We need to put a scale under the drill press and actually measure the springs at installed height
@@Black66 I’ve got a head we did custom, bought blank Ferrea valves and fit them, it’s like a 30/26 valve combo. There was tons of room to shim. Haven’t run it yet but it should flow really really good.
In my experiace the Tilly hemi valve train is kind of heavy. Does good with lighter components and shims or better springs. Then you can really rev it. But with the stock rod I need the bike for more content so I'm stepping up slowly before Kaboom! lol@@peterchristlieb
I think where a lot of people run into problems with the stock rod when they wind it out to 6000+ rpm and hold it there for extended periods. The rod becomes starved for oil and seizes to the crank, then breaks. You mentioned break in oil. What brand/type/weight are you using for the testing at this point? A good quality synthetic (which you are probably using) should buy a little more longevity.
I am curently enjoying and working a minibike... ive got a preditor 212 with a stock rod, block, sidecover. But i got the 265 cam, 26lb springs, ported head, straitpipe and 22mm makuni jetted wit a 130 it idles high and dosnt adjust might be a fake carb "looks real" cant get up to high rpm even after i upjetted might need to do the imulsion tube
Just put a flywheel and 18lb valve springs on a predator 212 non hemi and when trying to start it it rips the pull cord out of my hand any idea what it could be
Factory rod and piston will go alot farther than most think. We'd buzz them at 7500-7800 all the time. Big cam and springs w a 5-10hp n20 shot on e98 works really well.
I got a stock rod but built everything else tach says 9600 rpm ?? First time ever using a tach but thats what it says this engine hasnt let me down yet
Is your hydro brake plug and play? Or well with the adapter from go power sports at least. I bought a hydro off Amazon and a mounting bracket from go power sports not sure it will work though.
Depends on the mounting space between the bolts. The ones off Amazon are all so different, I can’t ever decide when shopping for mini bike stuff on Amazon
26 pound springs for the next test with a tach installed?🤔…thanks for the video as always👍
And cast aluminum or billet flywheel

If you shim the crank taking some of the end play out it helps in preventing the rod from walking which causes breaks too

Yes, thanks have a remedy for that I used in another video to get it to rev harder. Probably will try it in part 3

Stock springs are 10.8 not 26

That was awesome! Excellent content! I enjoy the scientific method. Add some more stickers for increased horse power...lol
Thanks! Yes, it definitely could use more stickers!

This is awesome y'all got me tripping over here. Man I wish I could've been there with y'all all those bikes all that road all fun😎
That shows everyone to not use a 10 tooth clutch, it takes away speed it just adds torque, 12 tooth clutch and up is a better option 😎☝🏾😈
This is exactly what the channel is about. Testing different combos with the occasional build thrown in for good measure.

@@Black66 We put 5mm valves in and Ti retainers from EC. The valves are super long and the stock retainers were big steel pieces.

Awesome Build. Where did you get the fuel tank from?
Nice vox yakno ya gotta be happy with those numbers a stock grom is slower then that at 3grand$$$ 💯💪🏼💨💨💨💨
Destroying this crank trying to get this timing key out man any suggestions???

I would check the Valve lash
@@Black66 what should it be set at
Doesn't the stock Tillotson 212 already have 26# valve springs?
Yea, an how a mod2 floating the valves🤔, gearing way off you getting to max rpm’s to fast ? 🤔
A couple guys that know what they're talking about I was asking the same thing something's not adding up

What app do you use for checking your speed
I use a Dragy performance meter for 0 to 30 and DigiHUD on the phone for top speed.
Hey, where did you get that exhaust from? I bought one but it cracked and I'm looking for one with a brace.
I made the brace out of a piece of metal from the hardware store .
@@Black66 gotcha, I'm going to do the same with one that I just bought. Love the videos and so far reached 55 on my tillotson 212 stage 2!

While you have a Mod2 in there, how does a Mod2 with 1.3 ratio rockers compare to a Fire 265 cam with 1:1 rockers?
I top out at 76 mph on my Coleman with a Mod2 and 1.3 ratio rockers
I know the tillotson flywheel is rated for about 10k rpm so I would have kept that stock
Lol no mention of the rear sprocket size I guess that's baby talk at this point
I mentioned it had a 58 rear sprocket at about 7 minutes into the video!!👍👍
@Black66 oh OK thanks man
U speak really fast sometimes I'm not complaining I just get real hyped up when I hear a opportunity for some more jiggawatts

Well it’s cool if it blows up and destroys the engine
Not sure how cool it will be but that is what the channel is about. Testing things so others don't have to. Oh...and having fun. Thanks for watching!
