Random tripping isn't that bad! Think about it: in real life when you trip, you faceplant and take damage, in brawl you take no damage from tripping. Brawl>real life

It's expensive but there's online battles and a ton more characters/stages/modes
But no subspace emissary, wolf or snake and contains bayonetta but still very good game

In my opinion -competitive aside, obviously - it's the best in the series. Subspace and an orgasmic OST.
Brawl is really good for casual. Subspace was my shit as a kid.
At least Brawl has Snake, Wolf, Squirtle, Ivysaur who aren’t clones of anyone, A deeply engaging Adventure Mode, Break the Targets, Boss Battles, Coin Launcher, Etc.
Despite the tripping and slow gameplay, Brawl makes up for it with the things I’ve mentioned.

I mained Meta Knight in Brawl.
No, I'm not sorry.
I mained him because I legitimately like his character. I main him in smash 4 as well as brawl. In brawl I thought his play style was super fun and I enjoyed how fast paced you could potentially play him in a slow paced game. He also isnt all that good below pro level. You can abuse other broken characters like diddy, snake, or the icys easier if you arent a pro
Brawl is honestly my favorite smash.

Meta knight was my favorite from the start. I just randomly selected him and as I played I thought yeah this is my man.
As someone who started with Brawl... saw an ad on that one Chanel the Wii has that showed upcoming games... and also played it at a lock-in as a child... it looked so awesome, all these characters throwing down?
Anyway as someone with Brawl nostalgia... seeing these guys mess around with it makes me smile for some reason...

Except not really, considering Wiimote controls aren't nearly as bad as you think they are. 1 is your A button, and 2 is your B button. The B button on the back is shield + 1 is grab. D-pad is motion, double-tap to run and fall through platforms. Also tap jump.
Have you ever played Wiimote sideways? It's the worst thing ever, no matter what your controls are
I have. And that's the default button setup. It also has '-' set to grab, but it's easier to press shield and attack.

I have a great idea for a fun new way to test ssbb's meta knight:
Play as MK
Put yourself in a variety of challenges (for instance: not being able to touch the ground, no jumping, etc) and see if it is possible to win a round of smash with those handicaps.
Brawl would have been amazing if it had patches. The game had a lot of potential but shit like momentum cancel, tripping and how absurd MK was held it back. They fixed everything bad with Sm4sh with patches (vectoring, low shield stun, etc.).
Federico Palacios I dont think Wii allowed for patches.
It allowed for very few small patches, the only game I ever remember getting one was Metroid Other M which fixed a save glitch if I remember right.
Kevin Fetters and Skyward Sword, but you needed to download a separate program in order to do so.

Brawl was actually my favorite smash game, I liked the mechanics that later games cut, they had an actual Story Mode, and the game was geared to casual players, but if Ultimate has a story mode it has a good change of taking over, I started by maining Kirby, moved to metanight and currently am maining Dedede

Better use Meta Knight then *BOOM* you unlock all the characters instantly, Brawl’s Final Destination was very poorly designed because you could get stuck in a specific spot near the ledge.
