I don't quite understand what you mean by "assume" (english is not my native language) but in two words my working process was like this: DrJekyll MrHeil generously provided music sheet of his piano arrangement for this piece of music. I learned basic chords and melodies, came up with riffs on guitar, fixed by ear some parts (it's pretty much essential to come back to the original song when you make your own arrangement), wrote drum and bass track for riffs, recorded and mixed everything in DAW. that's it. hope I answered your question.
