That looks like an absolute blast! You guys are so up beat and chipper I cannot help laughing with you as you fly down those stairs of doom hahaha! Love these adventure videos. Excellent job with the Video! Cheers!
That is a beautiful ride! At least the crash detection works cause those stairs! 😳. Loved the call from Mr Payne…Rich and Blake turned into kids again being checked on by the parents! 😂😂😂
Great video but surely this should have been on EMBN channel, great stair set of doom , would have been great if the total distance was said and the weight of the bike, nice bikes though, I gave a wild and love it
I love seeing the boys tackle some gnarly technical terrain. It does showcase the e-bike advantage and judging by some of those trails, it would be a 3 day epic on a normal mountain bike. Now Rich, I hope you messaged your Mum and Pop like your dad said. Any time your Dad is on the show it's great. At least you know the crash system works. Whenever Blake and Rich get the giggles, you know they're having a lot of fun. You need to let Sam Pilgrim know where that doomer is. 😜👍 Next video talk about how you might tackle some of that terrain differently on a normal mountain bike without motor assist, what you think you might need in terms of extra equipment, food, drink stops. Use the same e-bike against its non powered counterpart. I personally can't afford an e-bike right now and would love to see what you guys would need to change.
@gmbn , unless I missed it, could you share the total distance covered, elevation and how much battery was used. The new rise is a genuinely interesting product in the light ebike category, but want to get a better idea of range.
Love epic rides like this- amazing trails, beautiful scenery, alternate modes of transportation connecting sections, good food. And every bit of trail is new as you fly down em blind. What an adventure. And then every mtb parent: Were you in a crash again. 😂
The territory where this adventure takes place is impressive, but even more so is the new Rise. It seems to me that .Orbea has managed to meet the demands of the public who love this discipline, finding the perfect balance between power, weight and manageability, bringing an ebike even closer to a conventional mtb.
Had I known you were around my place, I would've happily showed up to buy you guys a drink! So much of enjoying your videos but not able to pay you back!
Totally agree with other comments. Please keep the channel pure you have your ebike channel for that. I’m 55 now and know there’s an ebike on the horizon but still trying to resist the temptation!
Get one. I’m 52 and just got an Ibis Oso. If you charge hard on a mtb, you’ll still charge hard on an emtb. You’re not gonna become lazy just because you have a motor. You’ll just go farther, go faster, and find yourself hitting features and gnarly climbs you wouldnt on your non assist bike. And here’s the secret- if you do ride em like that they are way more fun. Just demo a bunch first- some of em can feel like tanks and even some of the “lightweight” ones dont feel that playful. The Ibis is as good as my Bronson, and that is not hyperbole, which is why the day after the demo ride I bought it.
We don't aim for subtle with our branded pieces. You can always tell which ones they are as we go above and beyond to declare them using everything RUclips has available and more 😉 Glad you enjoyed the video!
Had to chuckle, when they were talking chainstay length, and Rich thinking that Orbea were the only manufacturer who keep them the same across emtb and analogue models - quick trip to the Trek website and a quick look at the Fuel Ex and EXe models, and WOW, they are the same 440mm (in low) across both bikes also, who'd have thunk it! LOL (GMBN, while i'm unfit and a crap rider who's on the wrong side of the planet, look me up if you want a switched on presenter! LOL 🤪😏😇 )
Great video, beautiful terrain for mountainbiking. Any insights in the trails used?Would be interesting to compare the trip with a non-electric mtb. I had the feeling the movie was a bit sponsored ;) but great content.
Im from the zone and this trip with a non electric bike is too much, in the video there are many downhills, but the uphills are very hard. Apart from that they have done the tourist foot route but with the bicycle. In those mountains there are more incredible descents than those shown in the video, but for that you need to stay several days to enjoy them
Thanks for sharing your local insight @dontpanic_dj! @dotniek a comparison would be cool, maybe next time! This one was sponsored, but we're never told what to say and thankful we're in a position to help Orbea with a bike launch after all of the support they give us! Helps us keep making high quality entertainment for free here on RUclips :)
@@tomnutting3836 yeh, we do, how about you count up all the comments saying exactly the same thing, and add up all the likes. It's not about emtb vs mtb, it's about peer groups and inspiration. Maybe too subtle a point for you eh?

Imagine what a bike this could be if they would have designed this with removable batteries for the big or the small size. This would even compensate a bit the ridiculous price tag. Great production
The torque these bikes have, whether 50nm or 85nm, are more than many motorcycles. I had a Aprilia Tuono 660 and it had 60 nm of torque. Whatever the number, it is plenty for a bicycle.
A 14 minute video and they don’t mention how much the “lightweight” e-bike weighs?!? I do not understand this. That aside, those views in Spain were incredible.
@@mikei611 No, thats nonsense ;) The highest specced version with 140/140mm is 16.3 kilo with the small battery (420wh), if you choose the 630wh battery, instead its 900g more and if you add the range extender its another 1040g on top. The "cheaper" models are probably ranging around 17,5-19kg without range extender and the smaller battery, the LT m20 (long travel 160/150mm and "cheapest" model) is for example 19.1kg in size "L" according to emtb news
E-MTBs becoming more and more the standard, in many countries (europe) they outnumber the sales of "analog" mtbs by a lot (~90% market share in germany for example), so that's probably the reason they will also drop more content with them on this channel here
Sorry you feel that way! Honestly we're riding more of a mix these days. Helps with the fatigue across multiple days filming and the skills/practices required are all still the same.
100% this. I am a heavier dude that is trying to be discipline on pedal up; however, I am curious about adding a minimal assist. Would these lightweights fit the bill, or would they have a crap battery life even on the easiest of settings?
@@TheRotundRider I’m just under 18 stone and these are great. I have the 2022 entry level alloy model though with the 540w battery. I’ve done 40 plus miles on mine over technical terrain, mainly using eco and boost on occasion.. the problem I have with my manual bike is my legs would get absolutely fried on big climbs, making the ride less enjoyable. With this thing I can be out riding for hours, with my heart rate still up in zone 3 plus for a lot longer.
I'm gald you enjoyed your ride and I appreciate the opportunity to see the scenery BUT I've said it before and I'll say it again - I simply cannot respect anyone riding eMTBs. Next thing we'll see on this channel is motocross bikes.
@@tomnutting3836 I've got one! And three different non electric mtbs, and I ride them all. If I want to be inspired to ride my Emtb I will watch EMBN. it's called 'choice'. Now it appears we have no choice and can only see our peers riding Emtbs. This is my point, perhaps a little too subtle for those of you who only see this as a conflict between the two, rather than two rather different sports on a spectrum from mtb to motocross.
You have an e-bike (cheater bike) channel, use it! Plus, just found out yesterday that there's now an e-bike company in Branford, CT that makes e-bikes that go 40 mph. They're called the Spark Bandit. These companies are going to keep increasing speeds until someone gets hurt, and then, the government will require insurance and registration for those bikes. Always one idiot to ruin it for everyone.
The difference classes are clearly defined - this channel (and most major bike manufacturers) only features/manufactures Class-1 Pedal-Assist bikes, which have nominal power outputs and strict speed limits for their assistance (20mph in the US, 15.5mph in the UK) - anything with a throttle (class 2) or can be ridden with assistance above those speeds (class 3) is not what this channel, EMBN, or the industry as a whole is about.
fwiw. the bike/s you are talking about are 'eMotos' - and if they can go faster than a small capacity (eg. typically 50cc) internal-combustion engined motorcycle, and are being used on the roads, then yes, they probably ought to have registration and insurance too - but that is certainly not a Class-1 Pedal-Assist bicycle.
