    What a great video! I love mine, I use it whenever doing seam repairs or stretching hallways and can't put nails to hold the carpet down. And of course on every installation! Thanks for sharing.

    Thanks for the video I get excited when I get my notification that you've made another video lol, I'm quite shocked myself that it actually worked! Obviously it's a bit unrealistic to say you could power stretch a seam and fit a room that fast. but I suppose if you were half way down the seam you could have your buddy fitting where you started from, so In terms of speed it's great.

      FloorsbySouthernboys I know you may not agree but this job is about speed where I come from and it seams to me (no pun intended) that the seamer down save alot of time and effort.

    • @FloorsbySouthernboys
      @FloorsbySouthernboys  6 лет назад +2

      sausage man it absolutely does plus the quality of your seam is going to be better I didn’t point out but if you look where we have the carpet folded back beside where I’m working there you can see how flat the seam tape is on the back of that no wrinkles or anything like that the seamer down now makes a good Tight flat seam

    Great video, I have the same seamer down model as the one in your video and yesterday just smog came out and stopped working do you think it’s repairable?

    I haven't yet seen a video on you doing a large seam with the seamer down that would be good to see, plus you guys have it easy where you live all the houses never have any stairs!! You're always fitting rooms which is my dream lol I'd love to see the way you fit stairs.

    It's convincing but next time you should pull the seam up off the pad to make sure the tape isn't stuck to the pad like it normally will do. Great demonstration though!👍👍

      @FloorsbySouthernboys  6 лет назад

      shawn moore It’s slid like crazy when he stretched on it there’s no way it was stuck I thing out of all of my videos this is probably my favorite one, the seamer down now Even surprised me and I have been using it for years now about three or four years anyway

    Works even better with the koolglide iron while using the seam board under the heat tape.

      Jason Northey This is probably my favorite video of all I’m sure you could tell at the end of the video that I was kind of surprised that it did it to 20 seconds just didn’t seem long enough to do what it said it would do, but it did

      FloorsbySouthernboys indeed it did and most definitely proved that's its worth the price you pay and definitely worth getting one.

    Just used my seamer down for first time and love it how do you clean yours .the nap out I mean. And I noticed you have a piece of tape on the front of yours .why

    • @FloorsbySouthernboys

      carpet guy 1970 I will just take my razor knife and run it through the grooves on the bottom of it and it don’t go deep enough to hurt the foam pad that’s inside there it only goes deep enough in to pull out the fibers so that’s what I use I just take my razor knife and rake it through and pull everything out and usually about once a week or something I do that may be a little more often just whenever it needs it basically, and as far is the tape on the front of it I’m not sure what model of seamer down now you have but with this one I was finding that the suction was so strong that it would actually pull up a little puddle of seam glue right at the front of it which would be so thick it would try to squeeze through the carpet backing and get on the nap so I covered up the first two grooves on the bottom of it, it didn’t stop it completely so I don’t let my seamer Down now sit in one place very long at all, after it sits there for just a few seconds I will slide it backwards then push it forward after I push my iron up again, and that pretty much takes care of it

    A normal join takes 5-10 minutes max to dry not 20 and in that 5-10 minutes im sure you can go do your set walls or trim other areas that's already been stretched. I'm sorry but an efficient layer will not find this tool useful.

    What does the seamer down now do other than cooling the seam and acting as a weight?, Any benefits to cooling a seam faster?

      In Fupa We Trust It actually sucks the glue up into the backing of the carpet which leads to a tighter and flatter seam if your carpet is crooked your rows are not straight You will not have to worry about pushing your seam apart while aligning your crooked row So many benefits to mention, I really need to just do a video
