Unbelievable Job in the livingroom
Thanks, wish we had a real sail loft or a bigger house.
Dear Rex and Kathie! I just had a marathon in your RUclips channel. Watched all the chapters in one go.
Thank you very much for putting together these videos. I enjoyed them greatly. I hope I can one day follow the same path you are, and fulfill the dream of building a Wharram. Your videos will be very helpful when the time comes.
Maybe even visit and lend you a hand.
Thanks for watching, rather than waiting to start on your Tiki 21, build a smaller boat to build experience. We enjoy nearly as much as sailing, you might too.
I am impatient to see next video. Please keep going Kathie and Rex! :)
We haven't quit, too many other obligations in the last couple of weeks. Keep the faith. Thanks for watching.
Another great video!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed.
Nice work, looks good! Where did you got the dimensions of the sail from? As far as I remember the wharram plan only gives very limited information. Is there any 3D shape in it or just flat?
Sailrite.com already had all of the dimensions of the sail. It is a fully developed sail with proper 3D shape. Search their website for tiki 21 kit.

Kathie is a boss... Dealing with a sail on the floor? She just had knee surgery didn't she? and is not letting it slow her down? You two are my idols. You're cool cats for sure. On another point as a novice, is there an advantage to a gaff rigged sail versus the Bermuda sloop sail plan?
Yeah she is, nothing slows her down. A gaff sail allows for a shorter mast for the same sail area since peak is wider. Less weight aloft maybe, but misses out on the breeze that may be a little higher off the water.
@@RexandKathie thank you for that explanation.
How long did it take to make the sail?
We work very slowly, keep in mind we are moving furniture to make room to work and then replacing same at end of day. The jib took 24 hours, and the main took 29. The instructions from Sailrite are very detailed and you should read them a couple of times thru and keep handy to refer to as you complete each step.
