    I like one thing about this:
    "The bank reluctantly offers you..."
    "The bank grudgingly offers you..."
    It actually promotes the adversarial relationship DoND has between the Player and the Banker.

      @Spi Cybershark the Mexican version of DOND (not the newer Yoo Si Voy) does a great job of continuing this version of bank offers. Also, the original MX ver included the "Tentacion" (Temptation) case, carried by a separate model in cahoots with the Bank, with a separate prize.

    Wow. I was assuming it was a different show with the same name. But it's identical. Looking it up, apparently this was only a year before the NBC version, but it seems so much more antiquated. The styles on people seem 1990s.
    I do appreciate the extra prancing around by the models to pick the contestant.

    Yes yes YES! This is what we like!
    Odd qualifying game but I actually prefer this to the NBC version. The music's pretty cool too.
    Loving the ABC banker as well, and her different adjectives to describe how the bank's feeling about the offer ("The bank begrudgingly/reluctantly offers you...)
    I can't imagine what a $2,500,000 win would have been like.

    • @milesmorris9333
      @milesmorris9333 3 года назад

      Eh, I don't really think the qualifying game was even necessary. It was a lot more interesting in the final product seeing the contestant pick their case. That way, they're more in control of their own fate.
      And the second qualifier towards the end is another good reason why it's just as well it was never carried over. It wouldn't have made any sense to keep the number active of a player who took that preliminary deal. Those players who took the deal should've been removed immediately so as to keep that from happening. If it kept going with them in the game and their number was selected, that would've eaten up more gameplay time. Not to mention that's extra money wasted on editing those portions out of the show. It kills the momentum.

    • @michaelfalkner1186
      @michaelfalkner1186 2 года назад +1

      @@milesmorris9333 I think, had they continued with this, they would've done the same thing they did in the UK version -- given the Player an immediate swap with any other case on the board before the game starts, allowing them to still choose their case.

    This proved that it wasn’t supposed to be a pilot; it was supposed to be the premiere episode for the ABC version, before it was transferred to NBC. 37:30 is nightmare fuel; at least, it didn’t air. The first time that more than $1 million was in the case, occurred when Matthew Sollena dealt at $675,000 (his case had $3 million). The biggest winner occurred, in the season 1 finale of “Deal or No Deal Island” when Jordan accepted a $1.3 million offer.

    Interesting "qualifying" game, but too short, they would have been better off i think having a version of billion dollar chicken like they did on pepsi's play for a billion, start with a buyout offer of say $5,000, up to the first 5 to buzz in get the money and are out (splitting it, if multiple takers), if no one takes it, a random draw is held to determine who goes home with nothing. The money goes up with each new round, last one standing plays for $2.5 million. And I recognized 2 models: Claudia who later was on the NBC series and Chrissy Teigen.

    Mr Martindale I think you've done a very good job with this I'll tell you what I used to watch deal or no deal with Howie Mandel. As a matter of fact one of his contestants lives not too far from me here in the shoreline area which is north of Seattle so basically at least I was close enough to getting to know her but I never met her in the first place yet that's a matter of fact I haven't met her yet. However, this is how people get involved with contestants. And basically that's all contestants makes friends and what you didn't know is yours Mr Martindale I guess you cross contestants become good friends with other people. That's how good you were when you did these game shows like Gambit and one game show that I used to watch all the time tic-tac-toe so I understand where you're coming from so keep up the good work because I tell you what it it would be a lot easier for us to understand how you got started doing game shows in the first place.

      Why?! What would this show be without the Banker? It would take almost all of the fun out of the show!

    I like some of the elements from this version. I don't understand the host choice, i never heard of him and he's from Ireland and the awkward dancing. Howie was a way better host and the nbc set is better.

      Based on the host, at first I thought maybe it was a pilot for Australia....(they have an ABC there too).....

    The money tree was revised for the 2005 premiere to decrease the minimum amount to $0.01 from $0.05. In addition, the $0.25 and the $0.50 amounts were removed (with $50 and $75 replacing it) and the top prize was reduced to $1,000,000. The $2,500 was replaced with values between $200 and $750 not including $500.

      This money tree is closer to the 2002 board of the original Dutch Deal or No Deal called Miljoenenjacht. The lowest amount was €0.01 and the top prize is €5,000,000
