No problem Carlos! I really don't use an actual palette because they are way to small, I have a handful of different size canvas that I use to mix my paint on.The beginning of my last video"turmoil" shows me holding a palette. You'll see more of it in future videos.
absolutely beautiful, I love to watch you paint, you inspire me to paint more, I just wish I could paint like you, of course you create masterpieces everytime you paint.
I keep my brushes wet all the time. I keep them in an air tight plastic box. When they need cleaning I use a product called EZ AIR acrylic brush cleaner, probably the best product I've seen.To keep them nice and soft I dip them in fabric softener before putting them away and rinse them with water before using.Hope this helps!...MIX
I hope that's good! I really need a variety but this is all I have at the moment and don't have a lot of extra time to learn how to create something else.
Thank goodness you do art "your way" that is stunning! All my favourite things in a painting, abstract, sharp edges, soft places, deep contrast, glazes.... I especially love all the soft areas, you are so talented. Sorry to ask a question you've probably been asked a thousand times, but are you using acrylic? It seems workable for some time yet you are working over it too. Thank you for sharing, you are my new favourite artist! ...off to watch your other videos.
existiram momentos em que julgava que terminava a obra ,que daria como finalizada e mais uma pincelada não caberia na tela e no entanto foi magico cada momento de transformação ,a adrenalina subia sobe doces pinceladas de cor...estou encantada.parabéns
This video is a great demo for value. It looks like the first colour is paynes grey and then yellow ochre? When starting a piece I have got used to covering the canvas with a layer of medium first and when needed. This makes blending alot easier:)
Michael this is one of my favourites along with Velocity!!! All that red in Velocity and all this purple in the Edge ....oh yeah!!!!...my 2 favourite colours! I definitely want one like this and Velocity!!! (In the future) :-) What a beautiful blend here! OMG!
Love this one Micheal! Wow. So when you are adding the additional layers...the yellows, light and darker blues and pink (magenta) you are glazing correct? I don't see glazing medium anywhere on your table but it appears to be glaze that you even add a bit of T white with on occasion. I am working away at the blending techniques and glazing for me anyway is not near as easy as it appears. :-)
ah, question. With your acrylics, do you go straight from the tube to the canvas and then work it in with the matte medium? I remember you mentioned that you don't use water ever only the medium?
Question: Which is what you print at the beginning, before color (transparent)?, Is liquid medium? gel? What kind is it?. Thanks! I love all his works! so much art and beauty!
I can't stop watching your work. Your color scheme is so energyzing,(sp?) Did you prepare your canvas first with a medium? I never saw you adding water or any medium . It is great work LOVE all your work. Thank you for sharing
Cool. Thanks very much for sharing. Though I don't know why you won't show us how you create those paintings that look like they are poured onto the canvas. You know the ones I am referring to. It's the same ones that everyone else is asking for.
I have just discovered you on line, cant get enough, could watch you all day. How long in real time does it take to complete a canvas? please send some tips on colour contrast and how you keep on adding colour. Are you working in acrylic only? Never never stop, Thanks, Mavis.
I paint on the floor as well. I used to paint with canvas on the wall but I just found more control on the floor. Love your style and painting. Do you frame most of your work or leave them with painted sides?
Great art. Hey Michael could you give me two tips about your technique? a) What is the white stuff you spread on the canvas at the very beginning? b) What is the pencil/tool you use to sign your art? It comes out so neat! Cheers!
you are such a tease Michael not giving too much away, but I just love your work. If you are ever feeling generous please share with us what the exact medium is that you use ie brand, and what it is called Pleeeeease!
at first it was noticeable that u had the same music for all your vids, but now its almost expected (in a good way). it lets the viewer concentrate on the painting being created.
this is the most rookie question I'm about to ask but, when you say palette you literally mean where you place your paint? so, from tube/jar to palette then mixing medium and or other paints/colors to canvas? I should take an art class really. LOL! Thanks again Mike!
Maybe film from bottom right corner so we can see the symphony of your hands and how they play with paint and brushes. What is the magic that goes on down there? Thanks for sharing your magnificent work.
The key isn't necessarily the shape of the brush head but the softness of the bristles. The softer the bristles the easy it can be to blend the paint and the less streaks that will be left behind. I hope that helps you a little.
Omg, so sorry! It has been a long time since I left that comment asking a question, so when I got a reply I didn't even check from who and just assumed ( wrong) ! Thank you so much MARK, for seeing my question and taking time to answer! :-)
Below he responded to me and said he uses Liquitex Matte medium when blending so I'm guessing that is the same he's using in the beginning because the paint lightens and it didn't look like water.
Reading the comments its funny we thought painting was hanging, I thought ouch! [I have neck problems] after reading then going back & looking I thought truly a GREAT abstract artist U got our attentions with both art & filming! LOL Is the liquitex medium a 'glaze' or does it read medium.
yeah this tune is on all your videos...time for a change mic! go into video manager and choose a new one from the free music available. it only takes 5 mins. cheers for the videos

It does not matter what you are painting, or what colors, it always takes me to heaven - in the spiritual sense, just awed.

michael, your work is breath taking. can watch u all day!
I really like these open process compositions you paint. The demos inspire me to be free in my own painting process.
Simply stunning. I love your work Michael. Thank you for the inspiration and sharing your art.
Wonderful watching you work... I've enjoyed several of your works being created.... please keep producing...

absolutely beautiful, I love to watch you paint, you inspire me to paint more, I just wish I could paint like you, of course you create masterpieces everytime you paint.
Michael thanks to you i started to paint and i found a passion Thanks from Argentina you are the best.
Yes I'm using acrylic mediums to create washes or glazing. The canvas texture has alot to do with it. Not to rough and not to soft.Enjoy!
Wow, you are a magician with two wands. A pleasure to watch.
I keep my brushes wet all the time. love your work....you still are my fav.thanx for sharing how too videos...they help alot...i really love your paintings!
I really like this, it's very soothing and the colors are very powerful. Fantastic to look at.
the white stuff is Liquitex acrylic medium and I sign my name with a Chinese calligraphy brush! (takes a little practice) Enjoy!
Thanks. All this time I thought it was just white paint. Is it a gel type or a fluid type. Would it matter at the end of the day? Thanks.
Your work is so incredibly beautiful.... Thank you so much for sharing your talent.
I very much enjoyed this, Michael. Thanks for showing us how you work- very inspiring.
Mo
Hi Michael, i really enjoy very much and i always watch all you share here. Thanks
I hope that's good! I really need a variety but this is all I have at the moment and don't have a lot of extra time to learn how to create something else.
Yes an acrylic medium is what I used in the beginning , Its also what I use to blend and keep it wet. No plan, I just follow the brush.Enjoy!
another great piece! beautiful work Mike! I'm practicing hard!
As always...Wonderful!!! Love the name of this piece as well. Thanks for sharing! I, too, am still practicing/playing.
not me Carlos, I use a palette .I pick up my paint, medium and do my mixing there and then apply it to my work (most of the time :) glad you like!
Glad you like! Yes this is acrylic.
'The Fundamentals of Painting' DVD now available at my web site.
maravilloso el dominio del color y la composición, eres un genio del acrílico, tus esfumados y como tratas los detalles . gran creación.
I applied a coat of medium before adding paint. I wanted a soft base to work on.
It might show up on DVD! These videos require a'lot of something I don't have much of...
Fantastic. Always interesting,fascinating and most enjoyable.Good work.Thank you !

Congratulations Michael, it's very nice, I love it !
Ouch! I take it that you must paint, and frankly I like bananas! MIX
Gracias por compartir! Un trabajo exelente, lo felicito!
this painting is laying flat, remember I'm filming this,Its hard to paint on an easel without blocking the camera.
las transparencias que logras con gel son magnificas . el gel y no el agua en el acrílico es fascinante.

Very Very beautiful art!!! Compliments!!
I love your work ML i am new to painting and abstract really intrigues me. I aspire to be as good as you one day. Determined :)
this music is almost hummable!
Dieser Miachael ist einfach der Wahnsinn,,,was eine Dramatik in seinen Bildern,,,für mich einer der besten Maler...!!
Always beautiful...
ah, question. With your acrylics, do you go straight from the tube to the canvas and then work it in with the matte medium? I remember you mentioned that you don't use water ever only the medium?
Felicitaciones, domina la técnica. Lindo cuadro

I can't stop watching your work. Your color scheme is so energyzing,(sp?) Did you prepare your canvas first with a medium? I never saw you adding water or any medium . It is great work LOVE all your work. Thank you for sharing
What medium do you put on the canvas prior to beginning?
Cool. Thanks very much for sharing. Though I don't know why you won't show us how you create those paintings that look like they are poured onto the canvas. You know the ones I am referring to. It's the same ones that everyone else is asking for.
I so love your paintings. Wish I could do it but it just doesn't seem to work for me. Thanks for sharing.
I have just discovered you on line, cant get enough, could watch you all day.
How long in real time does it take to complete a canvas?
please send some tips on colour contrast and how you keep on adding colour. Are you working in acrylic only?
Never never stop,
Thanks,

Magnifique! i like to see your work in progress, creative and relaxing and so beautiful!
Please what colors you used? And thanks for sharing
I paint on the floor as well. I used to paint with canvas on the wall but I just found more control on the floor. Love your style and painting. Do you frame most of your work or leave them with painted sides?
I love the day RUclips Paint.
Hi ,just discovered your work, interesting to see how others work, I`m curious, what is holding the canvas?
Great art. Hey Michael could you give me two tips about your technique?
a) What is the white stuff you spread on the canvas at the very beginning?
b) What is the pencil/tool you use to sign your art? It comes out so neat!
Cheers!
Das war wunderschön. Danke
I liked it just black and white. Would have gone beautifully in my bedroom!!! But I know what it's like - it's never finished!
you are such a tease Michael not giving too much away, but I just love your work. If you are ever feeling generous please share with us what the exact medium is that you use ie brand, and what it is called Pleeeeease!
This makes me feel involved
Amazing
What prompts you to have your canvas above eye (and shoulder) level when you paint?
Before you start painting do you have an idea in your head or do you just let your creative juices flow"
Wonderful! How many stages does it take to complete a painting that size?
BELLISIMO!!!
Brilliant ..I llove all urwork
Is that liquor ex you use first of all?
how do you save your brushes from liquitex??
two of my brushes are no more.. :(
You make acrylics look and act like oils!!!
What is your secret? Fantastic!
KK Daniels Cooking oil ha I’ve actually tried that and it’s not so bad in a pinch
at first it was noticeable that u had the same music for all your vids, but now its almost expected (in a good way). it lets the viewer concentrate on the painting being created.

So much for my sense of perspective! Ha! Thanks for the explanation. Now I won't attempt giving myself bursitis....
hey mark can you tell me if the brush size makes a difference?
Sorry for the late reply but is your question aimed at me?
Did you wait for layers to dry?
Mike the mesmerizer.
Does the shape of the brushes make a difference in this style of painting? If so can you please tell me what kind do you use? Thank you
The key isn't necessarily the shape of the brush head but the softness of the bristles. The softer the bristles the easy it can be to blend the paint and the less streaks that will be left behind. I hope that helps you a little.
Thank you for the tip! And for taking time to reply! I absolutely love your paintings!
I think your mistaken, I'm not Mix Lang but i'm glad i could help.
Omg, so sorry! It has been a long time since I left that comment asking a question, so when I got a reply I didn't even check from who and just assumed ( wrong) ! Thank you so much MARK, for seeing my question and taking time to answer! :-)
Hehe, it's a pleasure and no need for the apology. it would be nice to be as good as him though :-P
Take care
Are you painting with acrylic or ? I see the brush very dry and when I do acrylic some times drips. thank you, I did like it.
This looks like the stairway to heaven! What acrylic mediums do you use to get such a beautiful blend.
Im using Liquitex matte medium and Michael Lang brushes! Glad you like...MIX
Thank you Michael. I really appreciate it. I am going to try it and I will be getting your brushes in the future.
What do you pour from a bottle onto the canvas before you commence painting?
Water?
Or medium to prolong the paint from dying out?
Below he responded to me and said he uses Liquitex Matte medium when blending so I'm guessing that is the same he's using in the beginning because the paint lightens and it didn't look like water.
Best painting i have ever seen👍 What Brand type brushes do You use? Cant find some good ones her i live
They are his own brushes that you can buy from Amazon
What are using on the canvas to make the paint flow so easily ? :)
I'm guessing a wetting medium in his water and glazing medium on his fat brush
No problem, there is no way you could spell worse than I do.Enjoy!
that was inspiring....... thank you.
It's oil or acrilic?
un grand Artiste
