yes, drying is important with these washes, sometimes I apply a second while the first is wet and mix them right on the canvas for some surprising colors and other times the first needs to be completely dry to achieve the colors I want. The in between is bad because you will end up with blotches. Great question, thanks!
I use many different reds, 3 different shades of cadmium.crimson,crimson hue, red violet,permanent rose,vermilion, etc. Its not the colors I'm using but the colors that are being created by overlapping transparent washes and as each is shaded the variety of different colors is endless. Try it, its so much fun.

Hello. What kind/brand of acrylic glaze do you recommend? Does your 'blending brush' have the glaze on it or do you premix on your palette? Do you wait for layers or colors to dry between colors applications? Do you treat the canvas with anything before you start? If so, what do you recommend I use?
