  • This is a continuation from the last video that allows you to practice with me.
These videos are designed strictly for beginner guitarist.
I will start with simple concepts to overcome the physicalness of the guitar.
This lesson involves a combination of the semi chromatic scale and the phrygian scale
(third position of a major scale)
The Phrygian scale is a minor scale that has a distinctive, exotic sound. It is the third mode of the major scale, starting on the third degree. The Phrygian scale has the following pattern of whole (W) and half (H) steps: H-W-W-W-H-W-W.
For example, the E Phrygian scale includes the notes:
    E (root)
    F (half step)
    G (whole step)
    A (whole step)
    B (whole step)
    C (half step)
    D (whole step)
    E (octave)
The Phrygian scale is characterized by its flat second degree (F in the E Phrygian scale), which gives it a distinctively Spanish or Middle Eastern feel. On the guitar, the Phrygian scale can be played by starting on any note (the root) and following the pattern of intervals. This scale is often used in flamenco music, metal, and other genres that seek to create a mysterious or intense atmosphere.
