Thats exactly what I did with my hightop a couple months ago. Cut some and reattach to sides and back you wont regret it looks more full 👍

@@all4lani kinda late but I did it myself cost: $0. It’s easy af lol just time consuming took me 3 1/2 hours but imo wayy better than spending $300 or more
Im 1 year in and i started my sides and back (i call them my nursery) when my top ones were about 10 months old so im glad i started early but i don't have the heart to cut half the length of my top ones to reattach cuz im barely eyebrow level now and i would have to restart all the way 😢
Why does everyone stay bashing high top Locs? You guys love treating us like the outcast of the dreadlock community…….
I think the outcast are fauxhawk/Mohawk sets, but there’s nothing wrong with high tops it just takes way more time to flesh out compared to full sets.

I don’t mind it but full set does usually look better as it gets to shoulder length as high top locks can start to look too spaces out depending on thickness
bro hightops are just unpleasant to look at, how does hair only on the top of your head look good? 💀
I randomly thought of this and searched on RUclips for it, my plan is to grow my high top dreads for maybe a year and a half then grow out the rest of my hair for like 2 months and use a sponge, then cut the ones on top in half or whatever looks right so they'll be shorter and around the same size, so i can attach them to the sponged hair with a crochet hook, that way i don't have to worry about splitting them in half damaging the locs as for my hair i don't think that's a good idea, if i have additional dreads left over ill probably just attach them in areas it wont look out of place like the top of the back of my hair. That is if I do it. Since my dreads are already mostly mature at over 2 years, i regret not starting with a full head of dreads, but "ugly stage" be hittin when you first start out with short hair, high top looks way cleaner starting out.

Why it matter if someone has high top locs? It’s their locs and it’s their journey so do it really matter?
Not hating on high top dreads I just prefer to have a full set because I know I will regret the high top sooner or later high top looks good when u keep up wit it I just hate how the under grow comes out

Nah urs will look good, eveyrone can get dreads. Just different types need different methods. Research the crochet method for straighter hair textures

Hey I just got instant locs yesterday with the crochet hook method. I have thick 3a hair. I only got 60 dreads with a taper head I was wondering if there was any way I could sperate them to have more dreads (I do not want to restart)😭
You can seperate them but the more locked in they are the harder it’ll b, it’s probably gonna b hard for you cuz they were instant locks
Just water your locs and trust that they'll get thicker I only have 50 but my locs got alot thicker
