They've made some changes over the years, like switching from the Shamu shows to the Orca Encounter and renaming the azul show to Ocean Discovery. They don’t have the the pets, a Even though not everyone may be a fan of these changes, there are still plenty of people who appreciate and support SeaWorld's efforts to educate and entertain. The Busch Gardens park already had the country motifs, so those parks are going in on that and DarKoaster and Phoenix Rising are named after rides they replaced-which is nice for multi-generational families and enthusiasts. SeaWorld seems to be the best at nostalgia, although Cedar Point does have decent merch in this area too
Without seeing these animals in person, there will be less care in wanting to protect them. It's a hard catch 22
